Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
This time around, I noticed ring included an updated wall bracket which feels much studier that the last model did. You may have noticed a number of negative reviews regarding the bracket just giving way. Well I don't think you need to worry with this one as it is much, much stronger. And the package as a whole is much lighter. It's made from a cheap plastic which to be fair is perfectly fine. You're.not going to be swinging your weight from it, or hanging things from it. It's just fine.
The camera it's self is of brilliant quality, and is unparalleled when compared to the competition.
That's where the positives stop...
I pay for a ring protect plus plan (which costs me £8 a month, £96 a year.) I have had nothing but problems with pretty much all of my ring devices. Drop outs, malfunctioning, and just in general playing up. I have reached out to numerous ring technical consultants for help, and not had a single stroke of luck getting any of the issues resolved. The only responses I would get, is "That's normal". Well if it was normal, why has it changed.
My lights are stuck on almost 24/7 (keeping in mind I have adjusted the light zones, the schedules and everything else.) Any time anything happens on video, the lights come on. (Even the rain sets the lights off!)
None of the Ring products work with Google assistant. And with no disrespect to Amazon, but Alexa isn't the best. It's not as refined as Google assistant. In many ways too. I just refuse to purchase an Echo/Alexa device.
So until Ring, can listen to their customers concerns, and resolve problems (even to those who are paying nearly £100 a year for the extra support) I will be taking my home security elsewhere. Never had I been so disappointed by such a big brand. Ring have bitten off far more than they can chew. It's unacceptable.

Here is what you want to know.
1. Connection is over 2.4ghz Wi-Fi
2. Connection strength is quite good with eero pro 6 router through two walls and about 10m distance.
3. The siren is loud!!!!
4. The lights are very bright so don’t look at them and they also pivot.
5. The camera itself pivots so you can aim down up left and right.
6. The night vision is acceptable.
7. Motion works great not had an issue with that.
8. The app works well too when it comes to notifications.
9. Live view works good and so does switching on the lights and siren
It is a great product just very expensive if it’s on offer for £120 or less buy it!
Please vote HELPFUL if I helped your decision.
Handy little tether for hanging the light whilst making the final connections.
Neat little tool for all the screws and the two nuts to mount the light to the Bezel.
Easy to set up with great coverage and lights can be adjusted for brightness along with movement zones and sensitivity.
Two way talk is a great feature and unit easily links with other Ring devices to Ring fence your property.
Heads up! don't stand near the unit when testing out the siren :)
I works!
Its loud!
I'm now deaf :)
Dead easy to use with the software and offers good peace of mind when needed.
Clear night vision and even clearer colour night vision now available.
A pet peeve of mine is motion activated lights going off for no real reason, a bit of rain, a tree moving in the wind or a person walking past but not on the property.
Because of this I already have a Ring camera setup with motion control with a shape drawn to exclude the pavement and trees and with the motion sensitivity reduced to not detect rain. When someone walked onto the property the camera detected it and triggered the Alexa controlled plug for the light to turn on. This worked, but I wanted to upgrade to a proper external camera with a floodlight that has better light positioning.
This, however, is not it.
REVIEW.
Best to worst features:
5* The unit itself is well made with all fixing and fasteners included, plus spares. The install and setup was straightforward. The positioning ability of the lamps are decent.
4* The brightness of the lamps is just about enough at full power. The night vision is fine, but takes a few seconds to switch off/on depending when the flood light is on.
3* The picture quality is very mediocre, I expected better, anything that's still and not moving is nice and clear, but moving objects and people appear blurred and their motion clunky.
2* The Ring app takes ages to notify me of any motion, to the point where it's pretty pointless to check because they're already inside or they've gone. And if I do open the app there's a very good chance I'll be staring at a loading symbol for minutes on end.
1* The main reason for my purchase was to have better control of the floodlights motion detection. Hoping to restrict motion to just my property.
But I feel duped. It's just a regular PIR system with a range sensitivity setting. Which is very poorly done. With the range set to its lowest setting it can still detect people 20ft away and at angles where they aren't even in the picture or floodlight. So I've had to disable this motion activated lights feature as it's a nuisance.
If it was easier to remove and replace the product I may have returned it. But I have kept it mostly because of its linked devices feature which allows the motion detection of my Ring doorbell to turn these floodlights on. And the camera is still useful for security I suppose.
Why you can't use the built in camera and it's motion detection to turn the floodlights on/off is bewildering, I hope there's an update in the pipeline.
