Purchased the product and instantly got the code to add to PSN wallet. Once it is added to your wallet, you can purchase anything on PSN (including a 1 month membership)
Bought for a separate PSN account and didn't want to add card details etc. again and have to go through the renewal process.

Misleading but worked

The description of this product is deliberately misleading and for that reason I have knocked 2 stars off. You are simply buying a credit / voucher which can be applied to your PlayStation account wallet balance. To get the PlayStation Plus membership, you need to buy it from the PlayStation website (using your credit balance or credit card).

The only reason I bought this was because the PlayStation website wasn't working for me. I only wanted one month at £6.99 so now I have £3.01 in unnecessary credit because I bought this £10 voucher. So if you want a PlayStation Plus membership, best to just try and buy it directly from the PlayStation website first and if it doesn't work for whatever reason, buy this voucher instead.

£50 worth of Playstation credit for £50

Clearly there are some that have read the headline for this only and yes it could be a little misleading BUT you only have to read a little bit further (and look at the picture) to see that this is not PL Plus membership, but £50 which can be used towards your membership. The membership card on amazon is for some reason £10 more so much better to get this, credit it to your Playstation account and use if for whatever you want, which includes Playstation Plus Essential membership at £49.99. You can see the split in reviews, those that can read a description and appreciate the immediate access to the code, and those that skim read and take only a fraction in. I placed the order with Amazon and after the steps shown, had it set up with membership all in under 5 minutes.

Once you've purchased . A code is sent within a few seconds on to your Amazon account abd via email. Which you redeem from play station account or ps app. By simply keying in the code.

Can use wallet value straightaway once redeemed.

This will just credit 50 quid to your account.
Has sod all to do with a year essential account. Is not a prepaid card like how it used to be.
