Stephen Leather's most impressive creation.

Stephen Leather is a highly prolific author of thrillers, but in my opinion Jack Nightingale is his most successful and original character. Not the usual tough guy with a gun, he is a fairly ordinary bloke, thrown headlong into a world he didn't choose, and which he understands poorly. He manages to survive on his wits, dogged determination and a good slice of dumb luck. He's by no means infallible, but his frequent errors of judgment make him all the more human.
In this episode, he is pitted against an all-powerful enemy, whose origins lie in the distant past, but who operates in present day Las Vegas.. The action zips along at a rapid pace and the book is a very enjoyable way to pass a few hours. I've read and liked all the Nightingale books, looking forward to more installments.

I feel in volume 10 , the story comes up short, didn't seem to have the same pace as the others, great twists at the end however.
If there is any more in the horizon, l trust Jack will be flinging a lot more, than ignoring more Steadman for advice
The one think I did enjoy was Jack's finally realising that Wrainwright really dosnt care about his life at all

This series of books is very good, I have read them all. If you are scared of supernatural things, don't worry, although these stories feature demons and stuff they're not really scary at all. In fact, there's one lady demon who's a bit of goth and seems to just turn up now-and-again to make threats to do horrible stuff but never does; I think she fancies our hero.
Mr Leather is a fantastic writer who seems to wright a book a week, plus a couple of short stories, too. He wrights in lots of different genres and seems to have mastered them all.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT.. Loved this book . Jack Nightingale in another gripping supernatural plot . I read it in one sitting .. I was totally lost in this story .A few funny moments too and the finale was perfect. Another winning tale from this talented author. Excellent as usual.
