Loved the Cookies and Cream and it does work!!!! The product is genuine!! I have written to ON to confirm this, they transfered my query to Glanbia Performance Nutrition who confirmed the product is genuine. US X EU products are different on many aspects but be confident this is a genuine product. EU made products do not have a logo on the scoop!

I got it delivered today. It does not have a round disk at the cap, the serving scoop does not a logo on it, the expiry date and batch are on the side, not at the bottom of the tub, it does not have a manufacturing date, it does not have the usual mold mark at the bottom...

If you get a genuine one of these they are great. It’s hit and miss with Amazon though. The last one I got was genuine. I ordered a new one and finished the last of the genuine one yesterday. Today I opened the new one I ordered and made my shake as usual. I started drinking and it was completely different, a horrible soil flavour. It’s knocking me sick thinking of it now.
The original one had a nice flavour, this is vile. It’s not even like it has been a while since I had a real one so wouldn’t really know, I literally had the real one yesterday and the fake one today so I know what it should taste like. Obviously fake and horrible, not even a hint of chocolate flavouring. I feel bad for the people who buy for the first time and get the fake one and don’t know.
I’ve included images of all the differences I could find on the packaging, not sure if the numbers on the plastic of the lid and base mean anything but they were different so I included them. The main difference was the BBE stamp was big and spaced out on the real one but cramped on the fake one and only the fake one had that “UK MG101” stamped on it.
Hope this stops you getting ripped off.

Best taste for a protein shake

All protein powders are the same (or should be) on the content, they all have protein. What makes the difference between them is in the taste, and this one has to be the best. I have recently ordered the new Chocolate Hazelnut, and it's exquisite. It's almost like you are not drinking a protein shake, but an actual milkshake. The classic Double Chocolate taste is also quite good. I found banana cream too sweet, but still acceptable. One caveat, though, I highly recommend taking it with milk (my personal mix is 150g of milk, 150g of water and 2 scoops of protein powder). If mixed with water only, it does not have any consistency and looks more like dirty water.
I would not go with any other protein powder.

AVOID POSSIBLE COUNTERFIT

Unfortunately I have already binned this so I can't upload a photo. However, texture is very 'sandy' and the colour is not the usual white (when I got it from Holland and Barret) but an off yellow colour. Additionally the taste is vile and can only be described as 'out of date'. When inspecting the tub it claims its expiry is June 2023 but I wouldn't be surprised if this is a far older batch.

For comparison I went into my local Holland and Barrett and purchased an identical tub of the same flavour with the same expiry (June 2023). No surprise here that the H&B tub was white, not sandy and actually tasted of the flavour on the tub (mostly a lot sweeter as previous 1 star reviews have mentioned). Following some more investigation I would either think this is the company attempting to reseal old powder since the pandemic or its being cut with something. Either way, I am not at all happy and aside from the lost money I find it highly irresponsible to either lie or have no quality assurance on health products. Mainly considering that anyone ordering this is likely highly conscientious when it comes to health and fitness and the product is 'off' so it could have a negative impact on serious training.

There is no excuse.

I’ve been using ON Whey for over 10years. It’s the only whey protein I buy. I know the range well and I very rarely use any other brands as I’m serious about my training and I want the best supps for the best results.

The recent tub of Chocolate Mint ON Whey is totally different to what I’ve had over the years.

The lid, label, size of tub and even the scoop inside are all different. Tbh it looks and feels like a cheap Chinese knockoff.

Whoever is the buying lead of these products for Amazon should be sacked. You obviously got ripped off and whoever sold you this to sell on Amazon is laughing all the way to the bank.

After reading the top rated reviews I was hesitant to buy this protein powder via Amazon (other buyers receiving the tub with a broken or not original seal) but I did not want to pay shipping on top of the £23.99, which is the more expensive end for a protein powder in my opinion. I ordered the Vanilla Ice Cream Flavour and it had the real original seal on it. I’m glad to say that this is the best protein powder I have ever had. I’ve tried various flavours from myProtein, pHD and TheProteinWorks. Optimum Nutrition beats them all. It mixes very smoothly and has a pleasant vanilla taste, not too sweet and sickly. It’s double the price than the other brands but I will only be buying this protein from now on.

Sharp Plastic found in Gold Standard Whey protein powder

Purchased this item only to find half way through it a plastic item small enough to fit in the scoop and for me to nearly choke on had somehow got in to the container. I called Optimum Nutrition who were quite helpful and would raise it internally but asked me to raise it with Amazon as they were the end supplier.

Called Amazon and they said we will refund you and to just bin the product that i had already consumed half off. They didn't appear to care that i nearly choked on the item when drinking it from my shaker or that there may be many more containers with this issue. I was advised to read the reviews to check if anyone else had this problem and they might remove the product until further investigation

FAKE PRODUCT, DO NOT BUY!

I ordered this as it was an Amazons Choice, which made me think it is a genuine product, however on inspection it didnt seem right. I checked with the manufacturer and everything they highlight as to a genuine product does not appear on this product.

1 - there is no production date, only expirey date, manufacturer states there must be a production date

2 - The gold measuring scoop does not have the company branding on it, and looks totally different to the genuine one

3 - Genuine products have a cardboard seperator inside the lid, this did not have it at all

4 - The protein should not stick to the inside of tub on genuine products, however this one is stuck all over the inside

5 - the marking on the bottom of the tub do not match what the genuine one has according to their official website

6 - tried to dissolve a small amount in water and it didnt dissolve as expected, turned lumpy

I would not risk putting this into my body, and advise you not to risk it. I am shocked amazon is allow fake products to be sold on their platform. Unbelieveable.
