Batman the way he was supposed to be done.

before I start my own review, I want to adress all the people giving the movie 1-3 stars because of "Woke" writing, literally it's because there is a single momentary line that speaks about the men in power who are white privaleged men (which is a statement because they're all white men in power who are well off and are literally corrupt throughout but it's a split second and doesn't have an impact in the movie.)
However for my own review it's an absolute marvel to behold, from the cinematography to the score to the screenplay to the casting everything just felt right, every one of the cast did an excellent portrayal.
I find that going into this movie I had a feeling it was going to be really good just from the writers/director alone but then knowing the cinematographer is the same cinematographer as Dune and then finding out that the director was going to be one of the best experimental directors of cinema in modern cinema, however, knowing the writer of the animated series was involved I just got more and more hopeful and it delivered way more than I expected, they smashed it out of the park.
The story is blindingly good, many reviewers will say it falls apart at the end however it doesn't what we see is a batman who's learning to be the batman, learning that he needs to be a beaken of hope and not just a figure of vengence.
if you enjoy Detective noir novels/movies/audio dramas' this is for you also, It tells an winding detective story with batman's intellect really shining throughout and because he's a younger batman he's making mistakes like many detectives when they start out do. If you love Se7en or subsequent movies in a similar style this is literally in the same ball park it keeps you on the edge of your seat and keeps you there throughout, there were moments that really took me for a ride including some of the kills that the villian does really shocks you that they're going there.
The one thing I've noticed is you don't have to be a batman fan or superhero fan to go and see this it carries the weight of a scorsese film or tarintino film where the story holds its own without the inclusion of the batman.
honestly if this was an indetailed review I'd probably be saying that there are nitpicky things that were so minor that they aren't needed to mention, unlike glaring problems I've seen before in many comic book movies.
Heads up it is 3hrs nearly however I can honestly say it never feels like 3hrs for me personally, you lose yourself in gotham and the gothic rainy astetic they're going for, the neon lights of signs to the red and orange tones of gotham giving it a warm pallet which contrasts with the winter setting, it's so good to look at, the only thing is, if you don't like slow paced movies and stuff that takes it's time to tell it's story then this isn't for you but I recommend it to nearly everyone because it's such a fantastic take on one of the best heroes.
