I spilled a full mug of coffee on my darkish blue carpet - what a right muggings I was to place it on the floor beside my feet. Although I was quick to sponge off the excess and dab the fibre with dish soap and tepid water the spill still left a visible stain and Rorschach blot tide mark.

So I google researched, watched YouTube videos, read Amazon reviews with added primal screams at the carpet gods 'WHY ME?. Which all led me to Dr Beckmann Carpet Stain Remover. It has received much online praise and high star ratings but was not the instant panacea for my carpet woes.

It took half a dozen applications before it reached an acceptable point [that is, it remains faintly discernable if you look for it.

Some reviews mention the product 'bleaching' their carpet a different shade but I did not experience this as I read and followed the instructions which is crucial in applying it.

Was so terrified cos I spilled an unbelievably massive tea stain on my parents’ new carpet (like I couldn’t believe that much liquid came out of one mug) and tried all sorts to get it out. Then boom Dr Beckman arrives super swiftly and saves the day. Really enjoyed using the spongey spiked head attachment, almost considered pouring more tea on the carpet so I could have another go.

What's a man to do when his carpet has unsightly stains?

Stains that no amount of scrubbing or carpet washing could remove. They were an affront to cleanliness and I had all but given up hope that I'd ever have a clean carpet again, but then I saw the light. The light of Dr. Beckmann's Carpet Stain Remover (with handy brush applicator).

I was sceptical at first. How clean could this solution make a carpet? Is it easy to use? Should I remove the entire foil seal or just pierce a hole in it as the instructions suggested?

This is, unquestionably, the most important product that you'll buy this year, and buy it you should. It saved me time, effort, and money on replacing an entire carpet. It has revitalised my room. Made my cat happier than she already was. And would likely have saved my marriage if I had one.

In closing, I would like to thank the fine folks at the Dr. Beckmann corporation for their unyielding dedication to cleanliness. Not all heroes wear capes- some have handy brush applicators.

Wow! I spilt tea on my carpet and it's been there for a few weeks as we didn't notice it went under the sofa.. Tried everything to get it out - without much success - until today!! I was a bit sceptical this would work to be honest. Having a baby I get all sorts of stains on my carpet, but you wouldn’t even know thanks to this. The only thing is read the instructions before taking the foil tab off. I took it off and you’re not supposed to. You’re only supposed to pierce it. It’s my own fault for not checking beforehand, that’s why I gave 5 stars.

Great product. Having tried many other stain removers (Vanish etc), I had thought nothing would remove a horrible coffee spill stain from my carpet, however this product has worked wonders. There is still a very slight coffee colour stain on the outskirts of where the spill was, but this is hardly noticeable and no comparison to what it looked like before!

I have very light coloured carpets throughout my flat (seemed like a good idea at the time) and have subsequently tried various different carpet cleaners. This blows the others out of the water. I feel the brush makes a huge difference as it means you can agitate the stain.

I’ve successfully got rid of tea, fruit juice, blood (don’t ask) and mud from my carpets using this. I now keep two under my sink at all times just in case!
