How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsOutstanding!!

Oh My Goodness!! Where to even start with this book. I've said before that I always feel safe opening a KL Slater book. From the first page I feel totally safe that I'll be guided along a tense and intricate path of incredible storytelling, colourful and intriguing characters and an ending that will blow my socks off. The story starts with a bang and doesn't let up right until the last page. Every time I think I have one of this author's books sussed she just pulls the rug out from under my feet, again!!! Throughout the book I didn't know who I could trust and who I couldn't as the characters were so brilliantly drawn and even after twist after turn there was one huge shocker at the end that I did not see coming. An absolutely brilliant story, expertly written and highly recommended.

I love K L Slater's books, and I did almost love this one. It was a scene at the end when all is revealed that I felt is totally not only improbable but to my mind impossible. Things that happened during that scene have not been explained. I re-read it several times in case I missed something. I don't want to give spoilers so can't voice my concerns.

You always get a good story with ms Slater books. I did guess some of it, but there were also a few surprises. Real characters. Worth a read

BOOK MARK!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another brilliant book from this top author
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 May 2022
This is my 15th book read and reviewed by the author and can, I think now say she is one of my ‘go to’ authors, always a great story and ‘Missing’ continues this tradition
There are lots of books about people and children who are missing out there and so I wondered what would make this one different, I cant say 🤗 except to say there is an interesting take on the subject and some big twists and turns and a few red herrigs thrown in along the way
I was kinda sure I had it worked out but was wrong, the author has the ability to make you think you know…..only to realise you don’t
It is a tense, exciting story with believable characters and a sad life story for some of them, you might feel sympathy with some that surprise you
A brilliantly laid out tale by this always fab storyteller

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous storytelling from a first class author.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 May 2022
Samuel Barlow was jailed for the murder of eight year old Jimmy Bennett back in 1993. Twenty five years later and Samuel has now been released.

Jimmy’s older sister, Josie, is trying to establish her cafe and is spending a lot of her time there, leaving her eight year old daughter, Ivy, in the care of her friend, a childminder.

When Ivy disappears, Josie immediately knows it is Samuel who has taken her and calls the police. Will Ivy come back home alive?

This story was so different to the usual missing books out there. There were some jaw dropping twists and turns in the story. Often I thought I’d worked it all out and I was way off the mark! Samuel’s character was extremely intimidating and I felt for Josie knowing he was out and on the local streets again. I found the story to be chilling and believable.
