How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsWell thought out device, extremely good health tracker
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 October 2020
My last Fitbit was the original Flex model, which lasted a good few years. I wanted something with a decent battery life, there's not much point having one of these devices if it spends an hour a day in a charging dock (like my Smart Watch, which doesn't really cut it as a fitness/sleep tracker)
I saw that this model also had HR tracking, so I thought that would also be worth having - what I didn't realise was that the HR tracking is _continual_ - it's always tracking, which given the long battery life, I find incredible.
I was slightly concerned about the lack of a physical button (the older Inspire model had a clicky/tactile button), but the one onboard the Inspire 2 is just as functional, it has haptic feedback so you can feel when you've pressed it and it's just as functional as the older style button.
The touch screen is very responsive and glides through the various displays with ease, but ultimately a device like this is for data gathering, any number crunching will be done on a phone/laptop, but the relevant real-time data points are all there (current HR, steps for day, active minutes, calories burnt and so on)
The wristband is basic but very comfy (and more importantly, stable - it doesn't slide/roll around the wrist), my initial thoughts were to replace the strap with something else, but after a few days of wearing it, I've realised that's it's just about right.
The included (year long) FitBit premium is a nice touch, I'm not sure how much benefit I'll get from this over and above the standard FitBit plan, but time will tell. Some of the premium features seem to include longer-term data analysis, so maybe this will prove useful. But I've set myself a reminder to cancel the automatic payment continuation next year, just in case I'm not using it.
Overall very pleased, the unit is put together really well and they've clearly honed the design over many years/iterations, it seamlessly integrates with your phone's app and was a breeze to setup.

1.0 out of 5 starsUpdate to previous review - avoid purchasing anything from Fitbit! (But amazon support was amazing)
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 October 2020
I was looking randomly for a fitness tracker but not at a huge price. I saw the Inspire 2 was about to launch. The price was decent and covered everything like heart rate, sleep, calorie burning etc. I've used it it at the gym and whilst out walking and found it really great for tracking my heart rate and calorie burn!

I really loved the battery life, went well beyond its 10 days most times, and the app provided some really insightful data. However things started to go downhill after using this for a couple of months. Firstly I had to contact support via live chat because I was not getting any notifications from my phone, and after about 2 hours of really ridiculous and tiresome troubleshooting, the support rep tells me "actually we know this is a known issue, check back on our website for updates on future fixes." Slightly miffed but I carried on happily using it for fitness tracking data.

Move on to December (less than 3 months after receiving the item), the watch stopped synching to the phone app. I left it hoping/thinking it would rectify itself. Wary about having to go through hours of troubleshooting again, I eventually had no choice but to contact live chat again. Their stupid chat system disconnects if you move your mouse outside of the chat window or if you move to another tab - never seen the likes of it. So I had to start from scratch with 3 different support reps. After multiple switch off/ons, delete and reinstall the app, nothing was working. We went through about 5 thousand steps and I hoped that something would work. 3 hours later, i am finally told that two devices that we used to install the app were in fact not compatible!!!

As you can imagine, i asked why did my supposedly incompatible phone work fine for 3 months and then decide not to?? They really didn't give a hoot, and said it was out of their control. I then had to ask why they don't actually advise customers in advance that a majority of devices are not supported - again they didn't answer.

In desperation, i logged into amazon to see what my returns option was - thankfully the support person was there to.... well support me. Unlike fitbit support, who give you the generic BS and don't really care, Amazon really came good and arranged a return for me. Since my experience it seems I am not alone when it comes to many of the features not actually working for purchasers of the Inspire 2, so I am a short lived customer never to purchase from them again.

Just spent 2 hours onto Fitbit helpdesk, as the fitbit is not getting notifications from my iPhone HR. It is running IOS 14.0.1. I was told after a lot of messing around that there is a problem with Fitbit getting notifications from IOS 13.4 and above. They had no answer to when this will be resolved!!!!! Beware

I'm a bit surprised to read reviews on here saying that it's stopped working or doesn't sync...or doesn't work with iOS 14.

I've only had my Inspire 2 for a few days of course but so far everything works exactly as it should - even with iOS 14. The sync takes about 3 seconds every time and I've had no instances of the FitBit refusing to do anything.

You speak as you find so I can say...the Inspire 2 works perfectly and does everything I want it to!

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect slimline exercise ecosystem...
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 October 2020
Colour Name: Desert RoseStyle Name: SingleVine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
The Fitbit ecosystem has developed exponentially over the past few years and the inspire 2 is the perfect addition for anyone wanting a thinner activity tracker with all the benefits of the other models. Having used the Fitbit Charge in the past this model keeps all the same features with a slightly longer battery life and a thinner profile that is more comfortable for keeping on for longer.

The inspire 2 comes in a small box with a charging cable and 2 stray sizes. I needed to change to the larger size and this was really easy to do just slide the small latch and the existing one pops off and repeat in reverse to add the new one. The desert rose colour is exactly as the photos shows and looks good in person, the straps are soft to the touch and comfortable for wearing all day and night. The watch itself is black and so you can change the bands over easily if you fancy a change.

The best part of the Fitbit is the app, setting it up is really easy and it walks you through each step and explains everything the watch can do without dragging on too much if you have already used one. To connect your Fitbit you just follow the instructions by plugging it in to charge and automatically updating it. You create an account and enter you basic details which allows it to calculate all of your stats based on your steps and heart rate.

The app is packed full of features and with this device you get a years trial of the premium service which adds advanced sleep tracking and other workouts and mindful services. Following the year it will auto renew at £9.99 a month which in my opinion is a little expensive but cheaper than a gym membership if you use it to it’s full potential.

The watch itself is easy to use and is very similar to other Fitbits with a thinner screen. It auto wakes when you lift your wrist although it isn’t always the fastest to react, otherwise you tap the screen or squeeze the sides. Swiping up gives you access to your stats for the day and swiping down accesses the apps and settings. The apps allow you to start an exercise, timer, see phone notifications or do a relaxing exercise.

The screen works really well and is fast to slide through to different settings, basic things can be done on the device with most of it accessible from the phone. I think this works best, the syncing is very quick compared to the old Fitbit.

Overall I’m very impressed with this, the smaller screen can’t hold as much data as the larger charge, but tapping the screen on the home page cycles through all the data quickly. Being smaller it’s more comfortable for wearing to bed and you easily forget you’re wearing it.

Hopefully my review has been helpful for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Useless would not recommend

i've owned pedometers before and i track my steps accurately on my phone, however i had been recommended fitbit so i thought i would give the new inspire 2 a try.
the fitbit inaccurately records steps. i can clock up 1000 steps by driving for an hour with the fitbit on my wrist.
when i take it off my wrist and put it in my pocket it is more accurate ,however, doing this makes the HR feature completely useless ?
whats the point of having a step counter if its so inaccurate.

**editing this review as the fitbit has grown on me as i gave it chance.. its still pretty useless as a accurate step counter ,but everything it else it says that it does it does well . Rescored 4 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars My wife has love it and now she's more sports active than myself!

Hi there! I bought this for my wife. She has a small wrist and she has loved it. She told me it comes with two wrist straps and she is using the small one which fits perfectly. Dimensions are like this: strap width is 1.7 cm. Watch is slightly smaller in width than strap (around 1.5 cm) and length is around 3.7cm and a height of 1.2cm. Measurements not official but fairly approximated as they were taking quickly.

If you are ok with the watch specs then this is the one for you! keep in mind that it is an entry-level watch but for my wife has worked better than I expected. Now she's more active in sports than I am! the only thing is that it doesn't have a built-in GPS but you can couple your mobile phone and watch to do that. On the other hand, I guess the lack of a GPS make its battery perform for 10days without charging.

All the best!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great fitness tracker, set up disappointing
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 October 2020
Colour Name: BlackStyle Name: SingleVerified Purchase
Great for keeping track of my health and fitness goals. Only three stars as it took a week to get my Fitbit Inspire 2 to work properly. Absolutely no instructions came with it. Watch screen stayed blank or stuck, needed to reboot it several times to get it working properly (I discovered the issue on You Tube and how to fix it, no info on Fitbit.com). Then the strap fell off and I had no idea how to put it back on (watched another You Tube video). I like the product and being part of the Fitbit community along with friends is why I bought a Fitbit. But initial experience was awful. I actually thought the watch was broken and was going to return it. Some basic instructions and troubleshooting tips either in the box or on Fitbit.com would have helped.

This product is great it monitors your heart rate, how many steps you have done and monitors your sleep. You can link your watch to your phone so they you can see your progress on the fit bit app. When you link your phone to your fit bit, it also alerts you when you have a text or on a call. It also has amazing battery life, I wear mine 24/7! The only down side is I don’t think the step are correct, I could walk to the kitchen to living room and do about 200-300 steps. That is the only down side that I don’t think the steps are as correct as they should be. Highly recommend any one to give this a go it’s suitable for ages 10 and above in my opinion!

I am a first time Fitbit user and although I haven’t had it for long I think it’s amazing! The app is so easy to use and I was mind blown at the sleep tracking. Also, I can actually see my steps being tracked and looks pretty accurate. I have very narrow wrists so I worried about the watch looking too clunky but it isn’t at all. I also hate sleeping with anything on me but this didn’t bother me in the slightest. I decided to try this Fitbit before I spent ALL the money on a smart watch I may never wear. Best decision! So far I am loving it.
