5.0 out of 5 starsReally good value for a larger bottom
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 February 2022
Ok so we have a severely disabled daughter who is 28 but is like a 3 month old baby. So yes still in nappies etc etc.
We used to.use Johnson's baby wipes & have them on subscription....however people have got greedy & are charging way too much....shame on you!! We had used those for years. We then tried Huggies....omg total rubbish. Now we usually pop up asda to buy Pampers wipes by the box. However due to health reasons (not covid) we could not get out & pampers are too expensive on Amazon we thought we would try these.
Now remember we are not talking little baby's bottom here, we are talking 28 years old woman so thats a totally different league. You could use wet cotton balls on a baby's bottom as my wife did for our first....you certainly CANNOT do that for an adult bottom.
Ok here's thevreasons why they are good & we will be back for more & put them on subscription 😁
1. Good size wipe....important for the adult bottom.
2. Nice & moist but not dripping....you want moist in order to remove & clean.
3. They dont rip when you pull them out unlike Huggies 😡 So important when elbows up to ***t
4. Good value for money. This again is important as believe me when I say its expensive having a disabled daughter or son.

So if you like wasting money buy huggies if not buy these. They have been tested to the max...trust me on that 😂 Totally different to a baby's small bottom.

2.0 out of 5 starsBeware confusion - two totally different products with same branding - one rubbish
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 June 2020
It's worth being aware that there's two completely different products being sold under the same 'Mama Bear Sensitive Unscented' branding, check out the photo's on my review. One is substantially better than the other. The branding on the packaging is the same and the main differences are the sheet-count, plastic dispensing lid, and ingredients. The good version has 56 wipes per pack with a plastic dispenser lid for resealing the pack, the wipes are more square, have a dimpled texture. The rubbish ones are only have a sticker to seal the packet but have slightly more at 64 wipes per pack, but the quality of the wipes themselves are rubbish - they're the ones that a few brands have swapped too where they stretch when being used and end up long and thin with very little feeling of structural integrity to keep the dirty business away from your hands. Not pleasant at all. I prefer the better wipes by a country-mile even if you get a few less per pack. The biggest annoyance for me is that being a different product entirely is not communicated and seems to be disguised by the branding, I highly recommend that these different wipes get defined with different brand please, parents can be very loyal to the brands they trust and getting a different product in the same packaging is disruptive - especially when one is far superior to the other!

Should've known better
2.0 out of 5 stars Significant drop in quality (just like my life)
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 December 2020
Size Name: 56 Count (Pack of 18)Verified Purchase
Ok, I know that my life has reached a new low when I feel it necessary to compose a review about baby wipes, but lockdown does strange things to perspective.

When I first bought these a couple of years ago they were a great alternative to the increasingly expensive Pampers brand that I had been buying. They were great but when you need a constant suppl of these and nappies, something has to give.

At first, the switch was fine; the Amazon ones seemed near enough in quality and were about half the price. But over time Amazon has done what it always does - exploits it's near monopoly position to squeeze out the competition with lower prices, then start reducing the quality bit by bit, hoping no one notices or cares enough.

At first, I didn't care enough; they weren't too bad and, after all, they were a lot cheaper. But over time, the quality has deteriorated more and more. Now there have just been too many times when you pull out one and 4 come out at the same time. Or you wipe your child's arse and half of it stays there, rather than on the wipe. Too many times when I've needed 3 hands to peel apart the increasingly thinning wipes.

There comes a point where their cheapness doesn't actually matter because they are so bloody annoying each and every time you use them. That point is now and I'll be switching back to pampers whilst I scrabble to try and piece my sad, hollow life together again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Change of wipes is very disappointing.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 May 2020
Size Name: 56 Count (Pack of 18)Verified Purchase
Very disappointed with the new wipes. I have been using these for 2 1/2 years and even continued to purchase these when the price increased because we loved the wipes. We are expecting twins and planned on continuing with these wipes but from I started using the new wipes on our 2 1/2 year old I will NOT be using these on a newborn. The quality has definitely plummeted and the ingredients have changed. They have caused my daughter's bottom to become red and inflamed. Very disappointed and will be returning our unopened box.

1.0 out of 5 stars NEW LIDS BIG MISTAKE
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 September 2021

I love the mama bear wipes
ive used these wipes for a few years.... but im really disappointed with the new lids used to be a hard plastic shut down lid but has recently changed to a sticky plastic lid
Which is absolutely terrible after a few wipes out the packet the lid doesn't stick down again which means the wipes are constantly drying out
Big big mistake changing these lids
Unless the packaging changes back ill will need to find another brand of wipes
New seal lids are absolutely useless 😔

3.0 out of 5 stars Product changed
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 June 2020
Size Name: 64 Count (Pack of 12)Verified Purchase
I always bought it before for my baby and last box in June 2020, the product has been changed slightly, for a few more wipes you will get:1.less moisture in wipes, so you may use more to clean. 2. Hard plastic flap seal has been replaced with soft plastic sticker, it may not seal as well towards the end. 3. It seems the texture of the wipe has changed more like Huggies with less water in it.
Personally I prefer the old version, hence 3 stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars 2022 update: Old version was great! New version is bad. Newest 2022 version is even worse
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 October 2021
Size Name: 56 Count (Pack of 18)Verified Purchase
2022 Update: It would appear another change has been made to the wipes to the point where:
- they smell (the previous ones had no obvious scent)
- the wipes are even thinner and don't hold shape for long - leaving the user with essentially a piece of string-shaped wipe
- the country of origin has now been removed from the packet altogether.

The first revision of these wipes (all sold under the exact same brand and link) were made in the UK and had a firm, square shape. The second revision moved production to Germany and they were just about acceptable to use. The third revision (2022) appears to have moved production again and now the lavatory paper does a better job on my child.

I thought the second versions couldn't get worse, but Amazon has shown it can decrease the quality of its own products to such an extreme that there's simply no point in purchasing them. Well done, Amazon, you've taken one of your own products and ruined it.

Old Review:
I've been buying these for some time and they've been absolutely excellent. Very soft, good packs (with nice lid), strong, and nice texture. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to have moved production from the UK to Germany (each packet has either 'Made In The UK' or 'Made In Germany' printed on the bottom) and the packs and wipes have changed.

-- Old Wipes (every pack from every single order - over 10 - said 'Made In The UK'):
- Excellent
- Great value
- Better than any supermarket brand
- Solid packaging
- Good texture on wipes

-- New Wipes (all packs say 'Made In Germany' on the bottom):
- Flimsy new packaging design (very thin, soft plastic lid that often falls off)
- Flat texture (old ones had little bumps)
- No better than supermarket brands, and in some case worse

I have no idea why Amazon changes supplier/manufacturer/production site but it was a bad choice. Really disappointed.

1.0 out of 5 stars No longer have a plastic lid. Cause irritation.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 September 2021
Size Name: 56 Count (Pack of 18)Verified Purchase
These were, until now, sold in packaging that had a rigid plastic lid that would click open and closed. That's the main reason I chose them - they're amazing value for wipes with that style of packaging, which usually cost significantly more.

However, Amazon have now replaced the plastic lid with an adhesive flap, like most other other cheap wipes. They're still cheap, but there are plenty of other wipes cheaply available that use adhesive flaps and they no longer represent the same value for money.

I'd never choose to buy wipes with a resealable flap - they inevitably cease to seal properly and dry out so it's a false economy.

The wipes themselves are... okay. However, they are NOT suitable for sensitive skin, despite their name. I tried them on myself on irritated skin and they stung like an alcohol wipe, so I certainly would never use these on a young child if there is any sign of redness. However, for general cleaning of skin that isn't irritated they work fine and the wipes are physically strong and separate easily.

I used to have a subscribe and save order for these and used them almost exclusively. However, I cancelled that and returned the last order when the rigid lid vanished, and don't plan to buy them again. Without the rigid lid there's little reason to choose these: they're not sensitive wipes, and I'd rather buy another brand with either the good lid, or a more sensitive wipe.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why the change of formula? This new one is awful.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 August 2020
Size Name: 56 Count (Pack of 18)Verified Purchase
I had been using this product for 2 years and usually bulk ordered but when it arrived this time both the packaging and the product were different. The new wipes have given my son an awful rash. They are visibly foamy and leave a soapy looking residue on his skin. Also they can not be dispensed one by one and loads come out at once.
I'm so disappointed because the previous product was great and I would have been happy to keep using them. I won't be buying these again

These are great.I haven’t got a baby but I have got a teenage daughter who uses so many wipes to remove make up,as well as toddler and newborn granddaughters so I like to have wipes and buy regular.Iv always purchased branded wipes and few times tried budget brands been thin and torn and 1 own brand caused my teenagers skin to react badly.I had read a lot of positive reviews on amazon wipes so decided to give a try ( I was actually think if anything be able donate food bank).Well they arrived and I am delighted the wipes are soft on skin and even though there not extra thick they are strong and don’t tear, they are just wet enough not dripping but not dry as I found huggies wipes to be.They have no perfume scent they just smell fresh and clean.I am pleasantly surprised. You get a box of 18 for £12.50 each pack containing 56 wipes so work out much cheaper than branded wipes.I like the plastic click top much better at retaining moisture and keeping dust out than the plastic peel closures. The only slight negative I have is that sometimes two or three wipes will come out at once, although it’s easily solved by pull at bottom of wipe and it only happens occasionally where they haven’t been fully separated. My teenager took pack straight away and says there almost as good as make up remover wipes, getting everything but waterproof mascara in 2 wipes and a dab of make up remover on wipe cleared mascara too and it was soft and didn’t irritate her skin. I met my daughter for picnic ‘only 2nd time in 8weeks due to lockdown’ 😢.The wipes were great for granddaughters ,sticky faces and fingers gone in a flash. My daughter uses water wipes on baby, which are really expensive but she gave these a go (to shut me up more than anything lol) and was quite impressed saying the wipe felt soft and didn’t smell heavily scented.she doesn’t like thought of using heavily scented items on babies skin. The wipe cleaned baby bum in one wipe and was soft and just wet enough. She took the 2 packets I had in car and says she will give them a try 🤞 they will save her a fortune if she decides replace water wipes.I really recommend trying these, you may be surprised as I was.I would recommend to all my friends and I’m converted I will continue to use these
