Is it Waterproof ?

Hi, I have worn these overtrousers in rainy conditions also where i walk the grasses/ ferns are very tall and so far they are okay . I have tried a lot of so called waterproof trousers without much luck as they all let in the water around the knees even gore-tex , so hoping for good results from these time will tell? Thanks Sen

Disappointed that the trousers do not have zipped legs up to the hips as indicated in photo, they are just zipped for 15cm at the bottom.

This is an excellent quality pair of outdoor trousers. Now you might be thinking that all trousers are surely "outdoor" trousers? Not necessarily so. I have one old pair with a small tear in the gusset, as well as the remainder of a brown discoloration at the rear- which has never fully washed out. Doreen made it fully clear to me that those are to be regarded as "indoor trousers", that I am not to wear beyond the confines of our home. However, these particular trousers have more to offer than merely the absence of tearing or brown stains. They are also extremely waterproof and thus suitable for hiking, in even the most adverse of weather conditions. Nevertheless, they only offer protection against external water sources- so it's down to you to avoid any release of fluids into the trouser interior. They are comfortably fitting and easy to manoeuvre within, in case you should need to make a quick escape from a roaming bull, or a farmer with a loaded shotgun. I can't think of anything I would prefer to wear during a wet weekend around the Yorkshire Dales.

I have a 32" (81cm) waist so I went for the small size using the size chart on the product page which states S = 76 to 104. They fit me perfectly with room to spare worn over the top of jeans. The pockets are self contained pockets, others I own have pockets that are just openings so you can get to your own trouser pockets inside, these are not like that. I have only used them in light rain so far and they were comfortable and did not leak. I did not have any temperature issues in the warm weather that day. I have not used them yet in heavy rain so do not know yet if knee and thigh friction is going to cause the same leakage I suffered with my previous pair when walking. My old pair were perfectly fine when sitting in heavy rain but leaked after about 20 minutes of walking, they were only half the price of these though, so I'm hoping these will fare better in the long run. They seem very well made, I could find no faults with the manufacture on close inspection. I will edit my review if necessary after some time of using them but I ran the crotch under the tap for a minute while rubbing the legs together from the inside and nothing came though, my old pair fails that test.

I’ve had much cheaper ‘waterproof’ trousers that really aren’t what they claim and easily tear. These are fantastic, I’ve been out in HEAVY rain and remained dry as a bone, they don’t rip easily either. I think they’re a little pricey but the quality is very good, I’d recommend if you spend a lot of time outdoors.

I originally got these to try for myself, but realised they'd look far more suitable on my dad. They're undeniably brilliant waterproof trousers that can resist all kinds of weather whilst still being comfortable and durable! So why would they be better for an older gentleman? Quite simply, they don't sit very nice and if you care about your aesthetics, then you're likely not going to want to wear these. However, they look very suitable for older gentleman who prefer function over form, and of course also perform brilliantly too!

Overall, I think these are great for older gentleman and I would highly recommend them!

OK, my bad (as the Septics say) but reading the title "Outdoor Ventures Men's Waterproof Trousers Lightweight Packable" I didn't get as far as the "Overtrousers" part before ordering.

I thought they were made for someone with tree trunks for legs but as overtrousers they are actually worthy..

Long zipper at bottom to really open the leg up for putting on
2 zippered front pockets -sadly no back pocket
Elasticated waist AND drawstring.

No major complaints apart from the fact "Overtrousers" could've been earlier in the description!

This waterproof trousers is made of breathable and warm fabric. It is highly waterproof with mesh lining for comfort.

It can be folded and fit inside the included pouch for easy-carrying.

There are two good size side pockets with zips, elasticated waist with drawstrings.

The length of the trousers is a little longer than usual at XXL but waist fits as expected.

This is a good pair of waterproof trousers that can also be used as overtrousers as there are large openings at the bottom part of the trousers so you may put it on or take it off with ease even with boots on.

These are exactly as described. Waterproof trousers that are really well made with a mesh lining. These waterproof trousers have adjustable cuffs on the trousers and come with a handy little carry bag to pop into a kit bag or bike bag in case it rains.

We have two active dogs that are walked twice a day whatever the weather and these waterproof trousers will be a god send in the inclement weather. These are superior quality to previous ones we have bought inHigh Street stores. Five stars for price and high quality.

These are good quality but a bit too long for me, so I think my son will take them on! The construction of the fabric is excellent with proper pockets instead of slits you put your hand through into your trousers. All the seams are secure and with zips in the right places they’re easy to get on and off. They are expensive but I think they’re worth it for the quality. I love that they have a pouch to fit into and they’re easy to clean.
