Winter Emergency Kit + Vehicle Breakdown Safety Kit Plus

I've never understood why so few people in the UK have things like this in their vehicles, as with a fire extinguisher... you might never need it but you'll regret not having it if you do.

Both products don't take up much of any space in the boot, they have velcro on the bags which prevents them from sliding around all over the place (which also means it keeps my mini refrigerator from doing the same).
They are good standard little kits, all self-contained inside the bag and fits inside the car without taking up much space, the bags are bright yellow and easy to see.
If you're a newer driver, like myself (I only got my licence in 2018) then it's a good standard go-to set of kits for you.

Better to be prepared and not use it than to be unprepared and need it.

Breathalyser not included!!

Although the ‘NF Approved Breathalyser’ is listed as one of the products required to travel in Europe, and the kit claims to insure against all spot fines, the breathalyser is not included in the pack!!!

This marketing I found highly misleading and not up to the standards I would expect of Amazon or the AA.

I was surprised to see that despite the description (UK Badge) the kit still contains GB sticker (I have ordered it on Monday 27th of Sep and received next day) which as of today is no longer valid in Europe, but that the Breathalyzers have less than a year expiry date (March 2022). For the latter I didn't do any research so I could be persuaded that it is a decent expiry date. But all in all i am not all that impressed since I have to now buy proper UK Badge and remember to buy new breathalyzers in few months time.
Rest of the kit seems ok.

GB Sticker Unusable

Luckily I did not need to use the triangle, breathalysers or hi-viz jacket, but the seemed fit for purpose. I did successfully fit, and remove, the headlight diverters. What was not fit for purpose was the GB sticker, which I tried to fit just before we left for the ferry terminal. The strength of the magnetic adhesion was insufficient to keep it on the car in even a very slight wind or going over a bump. I did try it on other suitable metals in the house with the same effect. I had no confidence that it would stay on. Managed to beg one, adhesive, from the check in at Brittany Ferries. Surprising for an AA branded product. Have used magnetic stickers in the past with no issues.

Nicely packaged and presentable. First Aid contents limited and fiddlly to access. Other items cheap to buy separately. The one thing of value is the book giving information on continental driving and requirements. I also bought the breathalysers separately which I believe are not required now. In all, a presentable package which is a bit overpriced for what it is, but hey ho, it's a one-off!
24th April 2016. Further to my earlier review and the holiday is over. At the last minute I found that the magnetic GB sticker would not adhere to the back of the car. Volvo V70, perhaps the paint was too thick, but it stuck to my filing cabinet ok. I had to tape it to the back window. On reflection, apart from the neat packaging I would prefer to make up this kit myself from independent sources.

Cheaply made but it is what it is. At least I won't get fined when driving in France now.
Make sure you keep the high-visibility jacket inside the car though! It's illegal if it's in the boot. The rest can be in the boot.

The kit arrived on time. Most items were useful except for the magnetic GB emblem which blew off my car somewhere between London and Calais. The magnetic back doesn't seem to be particularly strong and it took me a while to find somewhere on the back of my 2013 Ford Fiesta to stick it which ensured the most contact (there was no where to put it that would allow 100% contact). This pack would be better with either a sticker to apply to the car boot or to place in the rear window.

As a result, I ended up driving around Calais at the risk of receiving an on-the-spot fine.

What we got was good. However it advertises itself as suitable for France and ( I must admit I didn’t quite take it on board so my fault) it doesn’t include the breathalyser kits. Not only that it said it came with a torch but we got a first aid kit. Not deal breakers as we have loads of torches and I’ve bought the breathalyser kit separately.
On the plus point the bag is robust and to have a kit to just transfer into the car will be convenient

Expensive for what it is

The eurolight headlamp deflectors are very old. The leaflet accompanying them is dated 2014 and therefore does not cover cars after that date. I bought another set from Halfords because the quality of these does not appear to be good. The most useful thing is the bag.

Flimsy triangle... But the jacket works?

Had to crack this out when I blew a tire in France. The triangle was very flimsy and not heavy enough to deal with the draft of traffic. Before we had our problem resolved the legs broke off and was lying sad on the floor. High vis jacket was successfully worn though
