I have only used the hula hoop once, it was easy to assemble and easy to use.
But while I was using it I did feel a slight pinching, I know I should have stopped there and then as when I had finished doing 15 mins going one way then 15 mins the other and took the hula hoop off, I realised I was bleeding, I had cuts on both sides but for some reason my right side was the worst.
I tried to contact the seller before adding my photo's here and writing a review as i thought maybe it was something I had done wrong, maybe it was too loose? Or too tight? Maybe I should have put it on over a top rather than on my bare skin?, but unfortunately I have had no respond back after a week of waiting.
It's a shame really as while I was doing it I quite enjoyed it and was thinking how clever the idea was and how I would try and commit to using it everyday.
My sides have been very sore but are scabbing over now, once it has completely healed im thinking of trying again but wearing a big top underneath but if i feel any pinching i will definitely stop and probably never attempt to use this again.

Only had it a day but so far so good. It took a very long time to get it going but once you get the feel for it it will keep going round. It does keep you moving cause if you loose momentum so does the weight and it won’t go round. It’s Noisy but if you stick some headphones on it’s not a big problem. I would definitely recommend

Watch out for the sand

I really liked this. It's easy to put together and use and I was able to listen to an audible book on my headphones while using it and I do love a bit of multitasking. About the third or fourth time I used it though the plug came out of the weight and I didn't realise until it's completed another couple of revolutions so ended up spraying black sand everywhere, and I mean everywhere, round the room I was in. My calories burn that day was from the hours it took me to hoover up the sand from every nook and cranny of my room! Sent it back as I didn't trust it wouldn't happen again. Found another one with solid weights inside the ball rather than sand.

If you consider buying this as a miracle weight loss/toning gadget you're in the wrong section - try buying a unicorn instead.
If you want a bit of fun exercise- buy it!
If you also follow a calorie deficit diet you will eventually benefits using this smart hoop.
I tried for a year to hula with a conventional weighted hoop, couldn't do it for months and then 30 seconds at most. Strapped this on, one swing and I was off.
My recommendations:
MAKE IT AS TIGHT AS YOU CAN. It works better if it's tight around the waist.
FASTEN the snaps / links carefully and gently. Any reviews saying anything broke is highly likely down to user error. It's a very sturdy hoop, bigger than my friend's cheaper one.
IT TAKES SOME EFFORT TO KEEP IT GOING! If you don't break a sweat then you're doing it wrong or are already superfit.
WEAR A TOP - any reviews with people showing bruises are down to stupidity of putting it on bare skin.
ANYONE'S BALL FLYING OFF ...fit it on properly in the first place!
Yes, it's noisy. I saw people looking out the window when I did it in the garden. Wear headphones and listen to music if it bothers you.
Ps: partner reluctantly tried it, swung it and wiggled hips for 30 seconds, claimed it was doing nothing. Correct, he's now looking for a unicorn.

After spending the last 15 months sat working from home I have piled the pounds on and feeling very unfit. This seems a good way to help get motivated. It's really easy to use and you can feel the benefit straight away. Unlike normal hula hoops it can't fall down which is good, as I am the type of person that if it doesn't work cast it aside. Daughter loves it too. It's vey easy to take the knots out to reduce the size if different people of different sizes want to use it. I love this product!

This hoola hoop is great if you don't have much space ,it's harder than if looks to rotate the weighted ball around at first but once you get going its brilliant I've lost 3 inches off my waste using the mechanical hoola hoop 4 times a week for 15 mins
