This is a really well made toy. From nicely moving parts, through very decent sounds and lights, to the educational value it has to offer.

The gator is fairly large, sort of just the size you'd imagined it to be for a toddler. It's got nice and bright colours and is quite cute too.
It's powered by 3 AA batteries that you put in a compartment on the belly of the beast. There's the usual expected protective screw, and both the batteries and small screwdriver are provided - excellent!
Towards the tail is the on/off switch. It's bi-directional - because there are two modes you can set this toy to. One is for fun and early days, where all you do is press one of the four large buttons at the top. The gator starts moving, plays melodies and talks in a nice, engaging way. Each button has a different melody. The moves are random - I think.
The second mode is more advanced. Once set, the gator moves forward a bit, then stops and plays a simple combination of two buttons (they light up too). It then waits for you to press the buttons in the same order. If you fail, it plays a funny 'oh no' tune and gives you another combination. If you succeed, you also get another one which is made of three buttons, and after that - four. Once all pressed correctly, the gator rewards you with moving around, singing etc. This mode is actually quite challenging, so probably good for a 3-4 year old.
The speed is just right, it also doesn't go away too far - perfect for your little one to try and crawl behind it! It moves its mouth, the legs and the tail. I was quite impressed by the animatics.
It moved very well for me on a wooden floor, as well as flat carpet. I suspect it would struggle on more uneven surfaces.
The sound is great! It's clearer than my robot vacuum, that was around 15 times more expensive. In terms of loudness, I'd say it's just the right volume. The songs are nice and the voice is really pleasant too. Connected with the gator moving quite realistically and mildly flashing lights, it really is entertaining.
If I was to look for any critique with this toy, it would have been that the gator doesn't bounce back automatically, if it comes across an obstacle. Instead it keeps trying to go forward and you can hear the sound of plastic cogs skipping. A minor issue though as hopefully the only obstacle on the way will be your baby.

The toy hasn't got any small parts, it's fairly simple - at least on the outside. The bottom is also quite well protected. It comes in a nice enough solid box, so can be gifted as a present. £22 is a great price for what you get here. I wasn't expecting it to be so nice and fun. I'm happy I got it and can't wait to see the reaction of the main recipient! Highly recommending this gator.

Comes well presented in a colourful cardboard box with it showing you the crocodile. It takes 3 aa batteries which are included, perfect so it can be played with straight out the box without the need to search around looking for some. The batteries are held in place securely under a screw panel underneath, so no worry of little hands accessing them. The crocodile is a good size, in an eye catching bright green and yellow. The 4 push buttons are easily located on its back. Theres a switch to slide across to have it playing music or a follow me push button game. The game mode would be a little tricky for small ones to play, suited for mote older ones, the buttons light up and you need to copy the short sequence. In the musical mode the buttons light up and flash, the crocodiles tail and legs move and its mouth opens and closes. It also moves along the floor in different directions. It goes along both hard floors and carpet with ease. When it knocks into something though, it does get stuck and clicks where its trying to move, as soon as you press a button off it goes again. If it's left for a while it makes a snoting sound. There's only one volume left to it, but it's not too loud. It feels well made and has withstood our 1 year olds rough play with it. A nice little toy which provides entertainment, with our son dancing to the music, pressing the buttons and chasing round after it.

This alligator has so far provided many hours of fun entertainment for both my 1-year-old and 6-year-old. It is nicely designed and colourful. It is built of strong plastic that has so far withstood a lot of heavy handling and bashing.

It has 4 colourful buttons on the top that can be used in 2 different modes. The first mode is to play a selection of music with flashing colours, while the alligator moves around in straight lines or circles on the floor. It even opens its mouth and makes "yum, yum" noises to indicate it's eating. If left for a moment, then it'll even fall asleep and make snoring sounds.

The second mode is more for older kids as it's a memory game where you have to push the coloured buttons in the correct order. As per the video, it'll react happily when correct or negatively if an incorrect button is pressed.

Overall, it's a nice toy that should keep your child entertained for a few years as they grow up using the different settings.

This is a fabulous Musical Alligator Toy from Nueplay, and I think I can say that it’s one of the best toddler toys that I’ve ever seen.
This lovely green alligator weaves around the carpet in an almost intelligent fashion, with it’s music playing and lights flashing, just the sort of thing that any toddler will love.
It reminds me a bit of one of those robot vacuum cleaners, the way it keeps stopping and starting, and changing direction, it’s really quite entertaining.
The question is, will the baby be able to refrain from crawling over and picking it up, while the toy is busy trying to do it’s thing, probably not. It’s hard to imagine any child not liking this friendly little alligator , and I’m thoroughly impressed, and have no hesitation in recommending it to you…:).

My baby boy is obsessed with this toy and not going to lie so am I!!! Very pleasantly surprised at how amazing this toy is. First of all it moves really well. I thought the legs would just wobble about a bit but no it really speeds off and instantly caught babies attentions. The songs and melodies are great and there is such an array of them as well. That means It doesn't get boring for little ones and won't give parents having to listen to it day in and day out a headache. It is not an annoying noise. Quite adorable really. To be honest I was already surprised at the quality of the toy as soon as I unboxed it. The plastic is a lot sturdier than I would have thought. The little croc is very well made from the overall design to the fine details. No flaws or anything like you see on cheap imported toys. The buttons are simple to push which means little one can use it with ease. Has two modes- one where it just strotts off playing music, snoring and waiting for your baby to push more buttons which plays different songs AND the other side is really interactive. It is similar to the Simon Says games where you have to press a sequence of buttons in a pattern that the crocodile shows you by lighting up the buttons that need pressing. Super fun and that means baby will get lots of play and fun out of it. Not only is it very stimulating and fun but also educational. Helps baby grow. Want to buy one for someones 1st Birthday coming up soon. Honestly can't praise this toy enough. Just buy and see for yourself

this toy needs 3x AA batteries which are included in the box plus the small screw driver, so nothing to worry about. just put the batteries then turn it on and its ready to go. the sounds, lights and the movement of the gator (mouth, legs, tail) is very entertaing for my baby even for my toddler. it also has a simple memory game to test kids memory. perfect toy for kids who are starting to learn how to walk because they will tend to chase the moving alligator. the only thing its missing is the volume controller of the sounds.

First impressions are a nice looking toy Alligator, it’s not as big as the pictures would have you think but still a good playable size.

You have a selection of sounds, which are a little odd, but dod make our new nephew smile and bash the Alligator a bit more.

Love the way it moves, tail and legs move, with the much opening and closing, does go fast across the fall, great little speed.

There is a memory game, follow the light sequence, which is a good bit of fun.

A lovely fun toy, we like it, lots of fun.

I ordered this for my son, and he absolutely fell in love with it. It is so fun and is a very good size and has a great design, very kid-friendly. It plays music, but it doesn't have to and you can use it with or without music which is great for us parents.

There are four buttons and you have to press them in the correct sequence they light up so that the alligator starts moving around. It encourages babies to crawl with it which is just great. This is a great toy, very fair price, and I highly recommend it.

What an amazing little toy! This musical crocodile was an instant hit. As the button is pressed he plays music, lights up, moves randomly around the floor, his tail waggles and his jaws chomp up and down. He can play different tunes and also makes a chuckling sound.

He needs 3 AA batteries and these were included along with a small screwdriver. These were a very welcome addition.

The crocodile seems to be well made and robust and should stand up to lots of play with little ones.
