Support but not enough

Well made and a good idea but It’s just not high enough to cover the whole ankle in my leg anyway!! Sort of finished halfway over it where the gel pack that you use hot or cold sits.

If it covered my angle properly where my injury is it would be great.

Pop the gel pack in microwave or freezer, add it to support then pump up to your desired level of pressure. Easy to pop on and take off via Velcro on the main strap.

I have severe rheumatoid arthritis, and I'm facing with a serious flare up on my left ankle recently. The pain almost killed me, I could sleep in the night, even a slightest touch or movement can cause my unbearable pain. I tried muscle tape to wrap and stabilize my left ankle, but it couldn't really help. Then I found this ankle compression ice pack, which is definitely my life saver. This device can be used with or without the ice pack. Personally I prefer with the ice pack, since it can cooling down the swelling. It's actually pretty east to use, though it can be a little confusing for the first use. Firstly, wrap your ankle with the pack, then connect the hand pump with the device and pump it up until you feel pain relived. The hand pump is detachable, you can detach it after the pumping, and remember to change the indicator from on to off so the air won't release. It can effectively cool down the swelling and relive the pain. Of course it can't chase all the pain away, but I feel thankful enough for getting some sleep after wearing the compression ice pack. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is similar with my situation.

It took a few minutes to work out the right way to apply this pack to my foot but the instructions are very clearly illustrated to demonstrate.
I suffer from an painful ankle joint that's caused by arthritic inflamation. Warmth and supportive compression are the key factors in bringing relief to the discomfort and I usually get this from snugly fitted ankle boots or walking shoes. But after taking them off for sleep I sometimes find it aches again without support. This compression fits the bill very well. It takes just 30 seconds to heat the integral gel pack in my microwave to get to the right temperature. This is fitted into the cuff and the strap fitted around my foot. It doesn't have to be tightly wrapped as the integrated pump does the work of compressing it with a few squeezes of the rubber bulb to get firm support around heel and ankle. It's cleverly designed and I can even walk around with it on if I unscrew the pump hose - which is simple to do.
I haven't tried using it as a cold compress as I haven't that sort of injury, but I'm convinced it would be just as effective, with the gel pack cooled by putting in a freezer for 1 to 1.5 hours. A thin layer of cloth is necessary between gel pack and skin - I find a sock does this adequately for the warm treatment.
The relief of pain is apparent as soon as the pack is put on, therefore I can thoroughly recommend this product for any ankle or foot injury. The cuff and gel pack are flexible enough to put around almost any part of the foot or ankle. It's well worth the modest price as far as I'm concerned.

I have arthritis and often suffer from plantar fasciitis. I often use a variety of medical aids, therapy devices and supports, though I’ve never tried one with pump up compression, and I can really feel the benefit. The therapy packs included mean that you can give real targeted therapy, alongside the ability to pump up the compression, it’s really gives two in one therapy, which is sturdily held in place by the blow up compression and the large velcro straps. For me it’s ideal, because I get tendonitis around my ankle joint and plantar fasciitis under my foot arch, and this ankle support works for both.

I do wish is it was slightly larger than it is so it would fully envelop all parts of the foot snd ankle, but it does a decent enough job. Maybe it’s the way I’m applying it, and I need to improve my application technique. I think maybe I need to tighten the straps more firmly to ensure a closer fit before pumping. Nevertheless it does the job. When I first out it in to use I was a bit stuck as when I lumped no air went into the brace, but then I realised you need to turn the valve handle on the foot pump to jet the air through!!!

Overall this is a simple and effective design that gives a good therapeutic effect. At £25.99, it’s reasonable value for money for a therapeutic device. I’ve purchased many types of supports snd devices over the years, some of which have cost a lot more than this one, but have not been as good. It just loses one star from me because I’d have preferred it to be a bit larger overall.

I suffer with achilies tendinitis quite often, sometimes it's so unbearable I cannot even stand. I wondered if this would help it all, it most certainly does help. There's an inner section that you place it the fridge or freezer to chill it, I put mine in the freezer for a couple of hours then popped it into the wrap and slipped my foot into the wrap. It was lovely and cold but didn't give me any freeze burn because the gel doesn't freeze as such. Once it was strapped on I pumped the compression just a little to keep my foot steady, then lay down for a while. I actually fell asleep and forgot I had it on when the doorbell woke me up. Its not made to walk in that's for sure.

When I removed it I found that my ankle where the achilies tendon area is wasn't as painful. Tthe best time to use this is probably either when you know you're good for an hours peace to rest up or when you go to bed so you don't need to walk or step on it.

It will be brilliant if you're into sports and often have ankle sprains or such like. It requires nothing special except a way to cool it, the pump is mechanical not digital. It's really excellent.
