We wanted an all in one light and camera for our garden and this seemed to fit the bill. We wanted to go with the ring ecosystem as we have the doorbell too.

Here is what you want to know.

1. Connection is over 2.4ghz Wi-Fi
2. Connection strength is quite good with eero pro 6 router through two walls and about 10m distance.
3. The siren is loud!!!!
4. The lights are very bright so don’t look at them and they also pivot.
5. The camera itself pivots so you can aim down up left and right.
6. The night vision is acceptable.
7. Motion works great not had an issue with that.
8. The app works well too when it comes to notifications.
9. Live view works good and so does switching on the lights and siren

It is a great product just very expensive if it’s on offer for £120 or less buy it!

2.0 out of 5 starsWas good at first, now disappointing.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 July 2021
At first, it was fantastic. Worked brilliantly and set up was super easy.

This time around, I noticed ring included an updated wall bracket which feels much studier that the last model did. You may have noticed a number of negative reviews regarding the bracket just giving way. Well I don't think you need to worry with this one as it is much, much stronger. And the package as a whole is much lighter. It's made from a cheap plastic which to be fair is perfectly fine. You're.not going to be swinging your weight from it, or hanging things from it. It's just fine.

The camera it's self is of brilliant quality, and is unparalleled when compared to the competition.

That's where the positives stop...

I pay for a ring protect plus plan (which costs me £8 a month, £96 a year.) I have had nothing but problems with pretty much all of my ring devices. Drop outs, malfunctioning, and just in general playing up. I have reached out to numerous ring technical consultants for help, and not had a single stroke of luck getting any of the issues resolved. The only responses I would get, is "That's normal". Well if it was normal, why has it changed.

My lights are stuck on almost 24/7 (keeping in mind I have adjusted the light zones, the schedules and everything else.) Any time anything happens on video, the lights come on. (Even the rain sets the lights off!)

None of the Ring products work with Google assistant. And with no disrespect to Amazon, but Alexa isn't the best. It's not as refined as Google assistant. In many ways too. I just refuse to purchase an Echo/Alexa device.

So until Ring, can listen to their customers concerns, and resolve problems (even to those who are paying nearly £100 a year for the extra support) I will be taking my home security elsewhere. Never had I been so disappointed by such a big brand. Ring have bitten off far more than they can chew. It's unacceptable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bit of Kit
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 July 2021

Fantastic bit of kit and easy to setup with stronger looking base plate than previous model.
Handy little tether for hanging the light whilst making the final connections.
Neat little tool for all the screws and the two nuts to mount the light to the Bezel.

Easy to set up with great coverage and lights can be adjusted for brightness along with movement zones and sensitivity.
Two way talk is a great feature and unit easily links with other Ring devices to Ring fence your property.
Heads up! don't stand near the unit when testing out the siren :)
I works!
Its loud!
I'm now deaf :)

Dead easy to use with the software and offers good peace of mind when needed.
Clear night vision and even clearer colour night vision now available.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 January 2022
Colour Name: BlackConfiguration: 1-Camera SystemVerified Purchase
I own a few Ring products including cameras, alarms and doorbells I also pay the subscription fee to allow me to see recordings. But I was a little hesitant to fork out for this floodlight, no matter how you look at it, it's expensive.

A pet peeve of mine is motion activated lights going off for no real reason, a bit of rain, a tree moving in the wind or a person walking past but not on the property.
Because of this I already have a Ring camera setup with motion control with a shape drawn to exclude the pavement and trees and with the motion sensitivity reduced to not detect rain. When someone walked onto the property the camera detected it and triggered the Alexa controlled plug for the light to turn on. This worked, but I wanted to upgrade to a proper external camera with a floodlight that has better light positioning.
This, however, is not it.

REVIEW.
Best to worst features:
5* The unit itself is well made with all fixing and fasteners included, plus spares. The install and setup was straightforward. The positioning ability of the lamps are decent.

4* The brightness of the lamps is just about enough at full power. The night vision is fine, but takes a few seconds to switch off/on depending when the flood light is on.

3* The picture quality is very mediocre, I expected better, anything that's still and not moving is nice and clear, but moving objects and people appear blurred and their motion clunky.

2* The Ring app takes ages to notify me of any motion, to the point where it's pretty pointless to check because they're already inside or they've gone. And if I do open the app there's a very good chance I'll be staring at a loading symbol for minutes on end.

1* The main reason for my purchase was to have better control of the floodlights motion detection. Hoping to restrict motion to just my property.
But I feel duped. It's just a regular PIR system with a range sensitivity setting. Which is very poorly done. With the range set to its lowest setting it can still detect people 20ft away and at angles where they aren't even in the picture or floodlight. So I've had to disable this motion activated lights feature as it's a nuisance.

If it was easier to remove and replace the product I may have returned it. But I have kept it mostly because of its linked devices feature which allows the motion detection of my Ring doorbell to turn these floodlights on. And the camera is still useful for security I suppose.
Why you can't use the built in camera and it's motion detection to turn the floodlights on/off is bewildering, I hope there's an update in the pipeline.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ring flood light
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 September 2021

I've been using Ring cameras for a while so when I needed a new floor light, I decided to get a Ring flood light camera.

The build quality isn't as good as the first gen. One of the lights is loose and unlike the original, you can't tighten it up and I wasn't impressed with the changes. It looks like corners had been cut to save on costs.

However.......
Once up and I saw the improvements, I was happy.
The images are clearer and the extra feature of being able to control the brightness, should please the neighbors.

I have attached a video with my review to give you a little demonstration of the recorded video and sound Quality, that this ring floodlight cam wired Plus is capable of recording with it’s 1080p camera. The video begins with an early morning Recording, then a Twilight Recording and lastly in the middle of the night. So that you can see through out the different times of day it’s quality, It also contains a demonstration of the two-way talk and siren. The installation was quick and easy, as I already had Power run to the outside. The ring app is just as easy to set up and use, which allows you to set your motion alert zones, sensitivity for motion, toggle floodlights on and off manually, siren on and off, go to live camera feed, Activate microphone to listen for sound, activate speaker for two-way talking and look at your recorded footage if you pay for a ring protect plan after your 30 day free trial has expired. It also allows you to see your connectivity strength to your wi-Fi and to set disarm, home and away mode for easy control of your ring device or devices. The app does have more features, this is just to give you a basic idea. When motion has been detected it sends my iPhone an alert notification to tell me that motion or a person has been detected. It is also possible to change the alert tone inside of the app for that device. The floodlight has been installed for just over one month now at time of writing this review, And I would say in that amount of time I’ve had approximately 3 false alerts that a person has been detected, due to a family of foxes gathering on the decking. This possibly could be my fault as I may have a setting slightly too sensitive, so will check out the help ring videos. I have subscribed to the ring protect plan, which does give you the option to pay monthly or a one off yearly reduced payment which I personally prefer. The floodlight lights only turn on when it’s dark and motion has been detected or if I decide to manually turn them on for more illumination, which is more than bright enough as it illuminates all of my garden up to the summer house at the bottom of the garden which is approximately 75 feet away. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase, as it gives us peace of mind for any unwanted lurking visitors. I hope you found my video and review helpful.

Mum wanted a camera for the rear garden and to deter the kids next door entering. Wired to the cable from an old lamp. Easy to wire up the base and really liked that there was a hook you can attach the main unit to whilst wiring that to the base. After that the setup was quite an easy process. The main problem was my Mum's WiFi not reaching it as the house has brick internal walls so had to use the Chime Pro as a repeater. Very pleased with the camera image and the spotlight function. Alarm function seems OK too.

After a few weeks of use have to say I am impressed. Video quality is very good and it is still reasonable when you zoom in. I wish I had got one of these myself rather than the camera I installed as the night vision is miles better. The only amusing thing is that it recognises foxes and cats as 'movement detected' but wood pigeons show as 'person detected'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality camera system

The Ring cctv systems is one of the best I’ve found, easy to setup via a QR code and WiFi you’ll be up and running in minutes, spend some time configuring the camera for motion detection and floodlight detection areas to have the best security experience.
The camera records video and sound and saves it to the cloud whilst the first month is free to try it out it works out a £25 per annum per camera but if you are thinking about several cameras the most you will pay is £80 per annum for any amount of cameras at the same address. You can view videos up to a month previously which is perfect and download them if you want, with the motion detection you can be notified to your phone or Echo device of any movement in the covered area.
With the Ring application on Apple IOS or Android you can monitor all your cameras and doorbells from the same app, the system is well thought out and infinitely configurable for different situations, it’s one of the best camera systems out there for the money, buy it, you’ll be glad you did!!👍🏻
