I bought this iPad so I can do something during quarantine. For example, playing games, watching tv and accessing social media.
The build quality is astounding. The metal frame feels good to hold and the device itself feels very sturdy. One problem is that the device was very slightly bent, but was hardly anything noticeable.
The operating system works great, running on the latest version of iPadOS. The gestures are very smooth and responsive with the vibrant 120hz display and FaceID works flawlessly every time, even in darkness and at an angle. The speakers and battery are also very good, however the battery does take a long time to charge. The plug which comes with it is 18w, which is the fastest charger supported for this iPad. The LiDAR sensor is also pretty good, however I don’t use many AR features.
I love the Apple Pencil functionality. I borrowed a friend’s one and it works so well with the fast display. It clips on strongly with magnets to the side of the iPad and stays there snug. It does feel a little slippy on glass, however there are many “paper-like” screen protectors on the market.
One thing I dislike is the prices of the magic keyboard that was released with this iPad. It’s Apple, so of course it will be massively overpriced, but £300+ for a keyboard and trackpad?!? This is not related to how I like the iPad itself so it will not affect my rating.
