I have had the echo show 5 for quite some time now and love it, I had a debate with myself as to whether I could justify spending over £200 on the echo10 when it was released. I decided not to and glad I waited until this was released, all set up in no time as it was linked to my other echos I have, one in every room. I use it primarily for the music, but also the weather, news headlines and reminders, also to use the drop-in feature if I am away from home. All in all a great bit of kit, and I am so pleased I made the purchase, it is surprising how much bigger the whole thing looks against the 5” screen. My 5” show is now in my sewing room. Would highly recommend this if like me you feel the echo show 10 is a step too far.
Update 21/6/2021 I still love my echo show 8 (2021) but feel gutted, to say the least, that 12 days after release date that this has £35 knocked off it for Prime day. This is the second time I have ordered something on pre-launch and it has been reduced significantly within a matter weeks, if it had been say £10 cheaper that would have been annoying, but 29% knocked off after only 12 days of it being on sale is a bit of a Mickey take. Lesson learned, do not buy anything on pre-order again, twice bitten but not a third time.
