The best I’ve tried yet

Having read through the reviews for this sleep mask, I have to say I’m really surprised by the negative experiences of some people. I first bought one of these a year ago and it’s been in constant use ever since. I work nights and even with blackout linings for our curtains, I still need a sleep mask to shut out all light when sleeping during the daylight hours.
One year on, and I’ve bought another two identical masks, one for home and one for stowing in my motorhome. These are the reasons why:

Once adjusted correctly, the mask shuts out 100% light. The mouldable stiffener in the nose ensures a good fit in this often poorly sealed area
The elastic is broader than most sleep masks and does not go slack with use or over time
The buckle used for adjustment has never been a cause for discomfort.
The material used is soft and comfortable

Now the negative
The instructions state “hand wash only”, yet go on to tell you not to immerse the product in water. Um . . .
The material has suffered a little from pilling on the outside face. This doesn't make it less comfortable to wear but it doesn’t look as nice as when new.

The photo is of my year old mask. Still in perfect working condition and I can’t bear to throw it away but it’ll be retired as a spare just in case. At under six quid for a year of decent sleep, I reckon it’s a bargain.

Do not buy.

Apparently this has ‘no gaps’ by the nose. I can confirm that it has the BIGGEST gaps I have experienced for a face mask. The only way to get no gaps is to press the mask right up into your eyes - which isn’t comfortable and will not last for a full nights sleep.

I ordered this and the Sysrion Sleep Eye Mask at the same time hoping that one of them would work. I work night shifts and really struggle to sleep during the day - despite having blackout curtains the light still gets through the top and bottom of the curtains as the sun is facing my window pretty much all day. I find that the quality of my sleep is poor and I get increasingly moody and miserable over time until eventually I can take a week off and repair the damage by sleeping almost constantly.
It was important for me that an eye mask would work properly. When they both arrived together I tried them on sitting on the sofa and immediately this was my preferred one of the two. It blocks out all the sunlight and is comfortable to wear as well as coming with instructions and a little travel pouch - so far so good as the Sysrion Sleep Eye Mask seemed chunky by comparison and kept slipping off my head. I considered sending it back immediately but decided to wait for a proper trial.
I put this mask on and lay down in bed, so far so good but then I became increasingly aware of my own pulse and the sensation built until I felt like my whole face was pulsing. I tried to loosen the cartilage piece over the nose but then the light comes in as this is key to creating a light seal. After 20 minutes or so I had to take it off. I then switched to the Sysrion Sleep Eye Mask which had earlier seemed so user-unfriendly only to find that in actual use it was perfect.
I'm still giving this 4 stars as I see nobody else has had this problem so it's maybe due to the shape of my face and nose. It's well made, well packaged and does the job of cutting out the light but I can't wear it. I'll keep it anyway and maybe use it on flights and just wear it loosely and accept that some light will come in but it's better than nothing. It's soft and thick and well made but no matter how I tried I couldn't get a position with it where it was comfortable with the pulsing of my own blood which only happens when I lie down. Very strange.

I’m autistic and suffer with sensory overload from light and sound. I often need to take some time out during the day and be in complete darkness and needed a little help to achieve that. This mask is almost perfect. If you tweak the little wire in the nose section and mould it to your face you can achieve total darkness with no light leaks. I’m very happy with it as it’s soft and lightweight but I wish it had a better strap as it’s a bit flimsy for me and the mask shifts if you sleep on your side. But for the price it’s nice, easy to keep in your pocket, comes with a little travel bag to keep it clean etc

I regularly use Sleep masks as I suffer from Chronic migraine, so need to block out the light to sleep.
This is down right dangerous. It has a wire inside the nose piece, but as all masks move a little as you wear them, the wire has poked me in the eye whilst trying to sleep.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I’m super sensitive to light and needed something breathable to wear when camping. I ordered several different designs and this is definitely the best - incredibly soft, comfortable, and the bendable nose ridge enables you to mould it round your nose. I won’t lie, it’s not 100% no light but I think it’s as close as you’ll get without restricting facial movement of cutting your nose off! I tried some others that had donut shaped padding, or memory foam, and they weren’t as good for me - too bulky, as a side-sleeper. This one is thin, soft and so comfy I wear it at home too. Handy carry case too, keeping it clean. No, I’m not on commission, just happy to have found something to help me sleep and if like me that’s a struggle, you’ll know I’ve had plenty of time to think about mask design!!!

With the early rising sun at the moment, I have been waking up earlier than usual due to the blazing through my blinds. I can't make any modifications to my flat so I can't install blackout blinds so this was my 2nd option. I have only used the cheap "Travel" sleep masks in the past and found them useless due to the light leakage but this is completely different. This fits my face comfortably due to the adjustable strap and doesn't let any light in due to it's mouldable nose. I have used this for the last couple of days and am very please I can get my full 8 hours!

My husband is always complaining that the bedroom is too light, or that I disturb him if he is in bed before me and I need to turn on the light - so got him one of these after reading the positive reviews. It’s one of those things that you don’t think you need until you try it, he was impressed and uses
It most of the time now. Would say that it would also be good if you need to sleep whilst on a long journey, or if you work shifts and need to sleep in the day, or even if your partner likes to read in bed and the light disturbs you. Fits him well and the contoured design makes it comfortable enough to sleep in. Was so impressed that I ordered one for my daughter too.

Decent looking, decent price, average performance

I bought this product to try and improve my sleep quality, as I do not have blackout curtains, and find that the morning sun causes me to wake up earlier than I'd otherwise like.

It's a decent looking product and the travel pouch is a handy little storage decide, but I did find it quite fiddly to stuff the mask in there.

The nose adjustment device feels like a bent paperclip that you basically mould to the shape of your nose to reduce the amount of light that manages to seep in through the bottom. At first, this seems to work quite well, but over the course of the night, the mask slips, the nose adjustment loosens, and you wake up due to the light that seeps through. I'd say that this mask reduces the amount of ambient light by around 80-90%, but unfortunately, the intensity of that remaining 10-20% is just as if the rest of the mask wasn't there!

It's pretty comfortable to sleep in, but I find that if you move your head on your pillow during the night, the mask is going to shuffle around too, and you'll lose the "seal".

I'd still recommend trying, as I did notice a minor improvement in my sleep quality. I may just try other masks too.
