A good sleeping bag

Overall this is a good sleeping bag. I have tried many bags over the years and my most favourite for older babies was Ergobaby. It looked to me that Tommee Tippee acquired the brand, so I decided to give it a try.

I have a tall toddler (approx. 80 cm at 13 months) and she is quite comfortable in size 18-36 months with room left to grow. The sleeping bag is ‘tailored’ fit meaning it does not get loose in the baby.

My bag is a lightweight version and it is truly 0.2-0.5 Tog, made of nice grey jersey fabric. It is literally t-shirt level. When it’s not so hot I simply put her in a long-sleeve bodysuit for the night and it’s perfect. We’re co-sharing a bedroom and it never gets too cold in the room.

The fabric is easy to wash and dry, no hassle.

I was specifically looking for a design with ‘sewn’ shoulders as some models tend to have buckles at the top and toddlers, well, they are smart enough to open that up. We haven’t had any incidents yet of my daughter taking the suit off.

Two things I would prefer to be done differently:
- the zipper goes up and down, but for older babies I would prefer it going one way only (from the top to the bottom) as they are smart enough to open the zip.
- for the lightweight fabric used I wish the zip was ‘lighter’ as it seems too sturdy for that

Anyway, these are minor things and don’t impact overall performance, hence a 5-star!

Extremely Disappointing Different Designs

Warm and cosy, but since Gro were bought my TT the designs have changed, and the zip on the front is too easily accessible to toddlers. People buy sleeping bags for toddlers because they won’t keep duvets or blankets on them ... if the zip is on their chest then they can easily unzip it. Put it back under the armpit on the older ages PLEASE!! It’s a shame as we’ve had Gro sleeping bags from birth and are fantastic especially as approved by The Lullaby Trust, but now looking for another brand.

Bought the 6-18m size for my almost 5 month old baby (as she is rather tall for her age). The length is good, but the body is a rather snug fit. There’s not that much more room for her to grow width wise (and my baby is not chunky, just tall!), so I really have no idea how this is meant to be for up to 18 months!!!

So the reason I gave two stars is the chest area part is really fitted around my little ones chest. He’s an average sized 13 month old and clothes 12-18 months fit him well. He can even squeeze in 9-12 month clothes so I’d know if he was just a big baby. Probably why it was £12. But generally it’s soft, it’s long and seems comfortable, it just probably won’t last until he’s 18months.

This was not the cheapest lightweight sleeping bag but it is perfect for the two-year old on hot summer nights. It can be used without any vest, it's a snug fit around the neck/arms for safety, and it's very long and allows full range of leg and hip possibilities when sleeping. Then as soon as your toddler wants to be up and about you can unzip the bottom so they can stand and walk about - plus of course changing is easy.

Great sleeping bag for my 7 month old. It’s a nice thin material that washes well and is great for warm summer nights. Have used this sleeping bag many times already this summer. Most supermarkets only do 1.5 tog for summer which we find is often too warm for the bedroom temperature so was pleased to see this sleeping back available in a 0.2 tog at a great price. I have already bought the next size up for next summer

Badly proportioned sizing ruins otherwise good product

It’s really small across the chest and tummy. Daughter is no bigger than average if not a little petite, she’s 12 months and the 12-18 size is tight on her. It’s a good product in every other way but otherwise next to a useless waste of money because she’ll only be in it for a couple of weeks.

Really expensive for something that is essentially a poor design and really uncomfortable for baby. The zip rubs baby under the chin because the whole thing rides up as they move in their sleep. It has a zip covder but the amount the whole thing rides up makes this devoid of effectiveness.

i suggest you buy from Primark for £11, or asda or Tk max you will get much better padding, cuter designs and cheaper price. this one was much less padded then i expected and it got stained and it is now trash because it wont come out in the wash. it is a great length so great for tall kids will for sure fit for a while.
