How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsLove it!! Recommend it to all
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 October 2020
I purchased the grey wood/grey padding version, but have also purchased another the same + one in the light wood colour as Xmas gifts.

I'd previously been using a beanbag laptray/dinner tray which I was just looking for a replacement for due to the beans in the beanbag getting a bit flat. I took quite a while to finally bite the bullet on this one, but I'm so glad I did!! I got a small Prime discount (think it's on until 31st October?) and it was about £39.99(?) - £2 discount(?)
The tray is ideal for using a laptop in a bedroom, I either have it across my lap (VERY comfortable, and I suffer with Fibromyalgia and have pain everywhere, so I was worried it was going to exacerbate this but although the tray felt heavy in the box across my legs the weight is nicely distributed across the underside foam padding), on my duvet or propped across the end of my bed and pillows (surprisingly sturdy!). I opted for the version with the mouse area, I don't use a mouse currently but it's great to put pens or my HP stylus on and not have it roll off etc! Also my 7-in-1 adaptor sits there snugly as I have to use it all the time (due to HP making their new laptops super sleek but not having any useful blooming ports!)
The slot/pots at the top of the tray I don't find that useful, & I'm barely using whatsoever, but we shall see & they're not taking up much space - I think they could've done with a bit more depth personally, but my phone does fit into it standing up, even in a wallet case.
I'm attaching a few photos to show it in use.

3.0 out of 5 starsNice looking lap desk but 2 problems!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 February 2021
I’d like to be able to give this five stars because it’s a great idea and the best-looking lap desk I’ve found. I use it a lot for working on the sofa, but I soon realised there are two really annoying issues with the design. It would have been 100% more useful if -

1) the phone slot were angled towards the face of the user. I’d like to use it for Zoom lectures and meetings with the tablet in its slot, a keyboard on the main surface and a phone for the meeting, but unfortunately the angle means the phone points straight past my face into the room - and there no way to change this.

2) the tablet slot were big enough to hold an iPad 12” horizontally. There’s plenty of room on the surface, but the slot is cut 2cm too small, so the iPad has to go in vertically. This is unstable and reduces the size of the text.

It’s really close to being perfect, but it misses! A real shame.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome desk for Sofa use
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 June 2020

The desk is very sturdy and comfortable with cushions in the right places.

I have a 15 inch laptop which fits perfectly and the built in mouse pad is a nice touch. I can see the material used for the mouse pad is glued on so I might end up peeling it off and using it as a template to cut a better quality gaming mousemat down to size then glue that on instead.

The wrist wrest is great and the phone holder is a nice touch.
Definitely the best laptop tray/desk I have used to date.

The only negative would be that I think its a little pricey even at the discounted price of around £40

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic product, perfect but for two mjaor flaws.

I purchased this a few months ago and I use it almost every day. I would say I'm 90% happy with this product and that it was well worth spending a little more to get this than one of the alternatives that cost about ⅔ of the price. I can spend hours with the laptop on me without getting uncomfortable or too hot! It's not heavy, but not too light either and this is part of what makes it a strong a sturdy product.

The features I think are generally fantastic, however there are two major flaws. The charging point for most phones is on the bottom and they can be charged from the laptop, so why can't a cable be fed through the phone holder and the tablet holder to charge them when they are in the holder?

It's still far better than the cheaper alternatives, but personally I've never used the phone holder because of this. When I get home from work, my phone needs charging, so I can't stand the phone in the cradle. The holder is pointless if the phone needs charging.

4.0 out of 5 stars This has made such a difference to my life already
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 September 2020

OK: the only negatives: Might be a touch on the heavy side for some people, but I am finding it doable.
There have been comments about the mouse mat area. Yes, it is a bit different from what I am used to but I have adjusted quite quickly, and there is no reason why you can't use a different mouse mat if you want. There is enough room to place your own there.
The rest, oh my goodness, this is an awesome piece of kit if you spend a lot of time in bed through disability or whatever. The built in wrist support is excellent, and the board is so smooth. Having space to see your phone screen is a plus, and it also works with tablets.
There is enough room for everything. If you are writing or drawing the wrist support prevents pens from rolling off. I am using it with adult colouring books, and my journal as well as my laptop. Having space for the mouse is awesome. I was so fed up with trying to use the mouse on trays, books etc.
I am delighted with this, and have only given 4 stars because of the couple of minor issues that might affect some people. If a light weight version could be made, and more traditional mouse mat material was used, this would rock 5 stars!

2.0 out of 5 stars Overrated product-Edited on 4 Apr

I want to edit my comment due to excellent customer service from the seller. My below comments for the product itself are still valid, it didn't appeal to me to the reasons I had listed. However the seller contacted me after returning the product and asked how they can help to overcome my disappointment. They proposed to send the product again for free. I asked my partner if she would want to use it for her evening movie watching (as she uses her phone) and she wanted the product so the seller sent me for free. This is a great after sales and customer satisfaction example so I will follow this seller closely and prefer their products in the future if i need to.
-----------------------------------------------------
My reason for buying this product is I don’t have a dedicated working space at home and I can chose between the sofa (when used on the lap) and dining table (when used on the table to provide height and wrist support) when working from home (which is everyday due to the pandemic). I will start with cons as they are more according to me :
Cons:
1. If your laptop’s charger input is on the right like mine (as seen on the photo), the charger cable will interrupt mousepad area which is annoying
2. The area where you put your phone is poor design. Your phone will keep on falling (as seen on the photo) unless you can keep the tray on your lap still, which is not possible.
3. Same as above , tablet area is poor design. You won’t see full screen of your tablet when you place it there , you will lose sight of the bottom area on your screen (as seen on the photo)
4. My product had 3 stains on the wrist support cushion.
5. This product is for temporary use on your laps , so don’t expect that it will replace a proper desk. I would suggest to use this product more on the table which wasn’t the reason for my purchase.
6. This product is definitely overpriced. Should be £25 at most.
7. The wrist support is OK but you have to place your left hand to the left corner of the wrist support due to your hand’s natural position when using the keyboard. A part of your left wrist will not sit on the support cushion as the support is shorter than the tray.

Pros:
1. Mousepad area is unique in these sort of products so if you can’t use laptop without a mouse , this product works.

Overall, I am not satisfied with the product. I will try it for a day and then decide whether to keep or return it.

This laptop Tray is pretty my just what I expected...
It hold my old MSI 17" gaming laptop, and gives you plenty of options on how you want to position yourself with it.
The materials it made from are good, maybe the mouse Matt material could be changed to something that's more appropriate for a laser mouse.
But overall I happy with my purchase...

Skoobaskunk
3.0 out of 5 stars Offers a home working alternative, but overpriced and feels cheaper than it should
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 November 2020

As we spend more and more time working from home, sometimes if nice to be able to flop out on the sofa and be able to work comfortably in a different setting. This laptop tray does that it says, it's lightweight, comfortable and large enough to accommodate the largest of laptops. That size however can also be a bit of a disadvantage as you need to find somewhere big enough to house this thing when it's not in use...it is substantial.

My main gripe however is with the build quality of the materials used. For the price paid (just under £40 at the time of purchase) the quality of materials could have been better. The finish of trim on the underside of the tray looks incomplete and the materials feel cheap and I don't think the tray will hold up well with frequent use. Will it stand the test of time? We'll see.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 October 2020

Positives:
Excellent build quality, attention to detail, and quality of materials used.
Nice finish, no blemishes at all.
Feels very sturdy, hasn't warped after almost 6 months use. Doesn't easily scratch or chip unlike others I've had before.
Cushions haven't distorted or gotten permanent dents where I lean every day, after almost 6 months of use now.
Design of two high-ish cusion strips on bottom keeps lap cooler than other style laptop trays that have a single bag of beans or cushion on the bottom.

Negatives:
Having a mousepad space on the right (which I don't use) causes the weight of the laptop on the left to make the whole thing feel unbalanced. Took a lot of getting used to before it stopped being very annoying - still occasionally bothers me. The mousepad has a raised edge so you can't just place laptop over it, without making the laptop itself wonky/raised up on one side.
The two slots for phone/tablet are unnecesarily separated - could easily have just been one and more flexible/useful as a result - e.g. sometimes I want my phone landscape while using laptop - the bigger slot is behind laptop so wouldn't be able to see screen, and medium (not large) size phone doesn't fit in landscape in smaller slot.

After reading most of the reviews I decided to order this with great expectations...very disappointed as it lived up to some of the neg reviews that I hoped had been a bit picky...
My pros..
Fit my laptop perfectly and could use the mouse on the pad without any issues....
Liked the idea of a phone and tablet slot but they wasn't any real use...see cons...
Plastic holders in slot to hold phone and tablet didn't fit mine correctly and one side (tablet) was slopping making it looking a bowed shape that came away from the top...

Cons...mouse pad lifting at the corners and not stuck down correctly...not really an issue as it can be a bit of glue applied then fixed..
Phone and tablet slots a great idea but sadly we're usless unless you put something in the slot to keep them upright ...made at the wrong angles and impossible to keep either item up straight to use and dropped forward...
Plastic slots for tablet holders like others had stated didn't have and holes underneath to plug the leads to charge ( particularly the phone has to be turned upside down to charge so really couldn't use unless removed...
Would have been better if a compartment was made it the void underneath ( plenty of room with getting in the way) to accommodate an external hard drive or a USB hub and sure it can be done....

Plastic edges on corners ...I presume is to keep the corners from getting damaged..no point in them as they just falling off ( my thoughts are they are for delivery purposes only)

Sadly this will be going back and that a shame because if it had been more suitable I was going to purchase at least 3 more for my family members
