Failure to register clicks; bloated software

Out the box, the mouse occasionally and unpredictably failed to register left clicks, this would involve a split second when the mouse just outright failed to register the left mouse button being clicked repeatedly. I use the mouse for playing CSGO, and during every 10 minute DM the mouse would fail 2-3 times. Standing face to face with a hostile and being unable to frag them or at least return fire because my 'trigger' is jammed is super unhelpful and completely unacceptable for FPS gaming. In addition, the left click was very sensitive and often activated by itself.

Also, this is a mouse with 2 additional buttons (3 if you count DPI switch), this is not a fancy mouse and I use it within FPS games only for pointing+clicking. If I wanted a mouse with huge button+macro capacity I would buy e.g. a G502 (which I already own+use for a different computer and which works fine). In order to change the default DPI for this simple mouse, I had to download and install a 300MB software (LGHUB) that automatically set itself to start when the computer turned on and had a background updater service that ran continually (even when 'check for updates' was disabled within the software).

To rate this product 1 star would be unfair because when it was working it was okay, and the clicking issue may be a manufacturing defect which occasionally happens with hardware. But I am aggrieved by the compulsory installation of bloatware to change DPI and going forward will be choosing a non-Logitech mouse for my FPS gaming.

Poor quality item and doesn't work properly

It is immediately apparent on seeing and holding this mouse that it is of low quality, I know it isn't top of the range but it should still feel at least as good as the basic Dell mouse I was using before. Instead it feels like a budget no-name mouse you'd expect to pay £5 for. Feels flimsy, lightweight and is too small for my adult hands.

The mouse comes with no software, nor any instructions on how to download it. Although the mouse itself installs on Windows 10 automatically, the essential software you need to control the other functions does not. So I searched online and found the Logitech Gaming Software, and installed that. This software failed to detect my Logitech mouse no matter what I did. I followed the instructions to the letter, then searched online when it failed to detect the device. The common advice given was to run the software in administrator mode, which I tried, but it made no difference.

The mouse has garish bright lights which you cannot turn off by default, you need Logitech's software to do it for you. But as Logitech's software doesn't work, I can't do it.

Probably there is a way. But after an hour of messing about, I'm just going to return this cheap quality device and uninstall its unreliable and unintuitive software and find an alternative mouse from another company.

Great mouse for the price - simple but good-looking!

I think this is a great mouse to pick up when it's on offer. It's lightweight, has 6 programmable buttons, 8,000 DPI and good-looking RGB. The default setting is cycling through the colours but you can download the Logitech G Hub software to change lighting profiles, turn off rgb, change button assignments and DPI sensitivity.

I haven't found the left-right click too sensitive or loud but I hope it doesn't develop the double-click issue like a few other reviews have mentioned. It feels much better quality than the basic cheap Logitech one I bought for my work laptop and I haven't had a mouse before with side buttons before - they are so useful to go back and forward! But it might be too small for people with large hands and I have found that my thumb and left finger have worn away the top layer after only 4 months of use, but that happens.

Would recommend.

This is probably one of the best computer mice on the market at this price range, you will be hard-pressed to find another mouse that performs as well as this.

It's lightweight, has 6 programmable buttons, 8,000 DPI.

The RGB lighting is a nice touch for this mouse and definitely add to how the mouse looks. It is customizable through the Logitech G Hub Software and it is of good quality.

My only critique of this mouse is that the click is not tactile like the Razor mouses but this makes sense given the price difference between this mouse and most Razor mouses.

Worth a punt.

Works as intended, is well built and performs well in games.

Mouse is a bit big. If I hold the thing with my usual crab style I find that my fingertips are about half way down the buttons and I constantly have to adjust my palm position to use the wheel properly. Using my whole hand flush against the mouse helps a bit with this but in doing so I lose some fine adjustment. So if you don't have Mickey Mouse sized hands the size of the mouse may be something to watch out for. However because the mouse is so precise I'm going to bear with it and attempt to adjust, either that or just keep it as a backup.

The leds are nice enough I suppose and if you download the software from Logi (Be sure to turn off all the rubbish services this program turns on during install), you can configure colour and speed. Going to be honest and say that this aspect of the mouse was not a selling point for me so I'm not particularly impressed with this feature. I mean once you actually use the mouse your hand covers the lights anyway so what's the point? But hey, if led is your thing then rest assured the mouse is nice to look at in the dark.

So yeah, apart from the size I'm quite happy with the mouse and as said above it's very precise for gaming. Worth a punt.

I had an old version of this mouse, it was great until after a few years it started to fail. I didn't hesitate to buy the same again, expecting it to be up to the same standard. Unfortunately it isn't. Not even close.

I've had this mouse around a month. So many missed clicks it's unreal and it's making quick action gaming impossible, I've no idea how this could be described as a Gaming mouse as it's only good for browsing, word processing, etc... Not gaming.

For the price, this is definitely one of, if not the best mouse you can get on the market right now. Other mice that are around this price point or a few pounds cheaper don’t even come close to this mouse in my opinion, although it’s not entirely perfect if you want to be picky.

Firstly, the size and comfort of this mouse is great. The size of the mouse is not too large, but it’s not too small for someone with quite large hands. It’s easy to hold and use for extended periods of time when using it for casual use, or for gaming. I really like the matte finish all over the mouse as there is no sticky/non smooth feeling anywhere on the mouse which feels miles better to be than having gloss on a mouse.

Also, the main buttons don’t feel cheap as they have a nice click to them and have not malfunctioned once for me. The mouse wheel also feels better than other mice I have used as it’s not to flimsy feeling and it does have a little bit of resistance which is comfortable when scrolling down web pages etc. Moreover, the fact that the cable is a standard thin/lightweight plastic cable is something that I like over the more premium looking braided cables. This is because the braided cables add more weight, and can sometimes snag on certain types of mouse mats which doesn’t happen here. The side buttons also work well, and importantly they never get in the way or pressed by accident.

While there are plenty or RGB options available to use within the Logitech G HUB software, I am not a big fan that you have to download the software and have it running constantly, especially when it’s used in order to deactivate the RGB as I prefer to have it turned off, and to set the DPI. Another small con would be that the middle programmable button is slightly raised and I have accidentally changed my DPI in the middle of gaming, though I suppose you could deactivate the button to do nothing if this is a problem.

Overall, this is a really great and feature-rich mouse for the price, so you can’t go wrong here.

One word to describe this mouse - excellent!

I've been using Logitech for years. Anything computer related on my desk is made by them. My trusty B100 mouse finally failed me after 8 years of use (not bad for a product that cost £9) so I knew I had to get another Logitech. Here are my thoughts and comments:

- This mouse is marginally larger than the B100, which actually works in my favour as my medium to large hand definitely appreciates the larger surface area
- The looks are perfect in my opinion. They're understated, professional but with a hint of 'gamer', thanks to the curvature and sharp angles across the mouse buttons
- The LED lights are just amazing. They're highly adjustable, get very bright and can easily be controlled via the Logitech suite
- The mouse itself is nice and light (around 80g I think) which means it isn't fatiguing on your wrist or fingers. The L and R mouse buttons, scroll wheel and extra 2 side buttons feel nice and tactile to press
- Good build quality and feels well made
- Very accurate optical sensor. The movement is noticeably better on this compared to my old red sensor mouse
- The price to performance here is just incredible

In conclusion, not a bad word to say about this product. You can spend a lot more on a mouse but I don't see what you get extra for the money. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could!

A gaming iteration on a classic Logitech no-frills design - but needs bloated software

Essentially the same old reliable, almost indestructible mid-2000s Logitech optical mouse, but with a high-dpi sensor, more buttons, and some led crap. If you know, you know. Make sure it's a gen2, gen1 has known problems with button reliability over time.

YET, alas, once more, a sign of the current Javascript disease times. A bunch of disco lights that you can't control unless you open a 300 MB Electron app that usually gets stuck in the loading phase and don't even reaches the UI. absolute piece of crap and I can't wait to smash it to pieces in the parking lot.

Switches are not very reliable

I had no issues with this mouse's software or its functionality. I like how it looks, especially compared to all the other mice in this price range with overdone designs and cluttered UIs. However, sadly the switches used in this mouse and many other Logitech mice aren't very reliable and can end up with a problem that causes a single click to register as multiple clicks. I had this issue on one switch, got a full refund with Amazon and didn't have to return the mouse. Instead of buying the same mouse again, I decided to try and fix the root problem, the switches. I purchased a pack of Huano Blue Shell (these are supposed to be reliable) switches from AliExpress for a very inexpensive price. (roughly £3) I then followed a YouTube soldering tutorial for my very mouse. (I am not experienced at soldering, however, it wasn't very difficult) For about 3 months now the new switches have been absolutely fine and I'm hopeful that they'll last much longer than the infamous stock ones. If you have this issue and also have a soldering iron, I'd recommend doing this instead of buying a whole new mouse for much more than the price of two switches as long as you have a soldering iron.
