Great game for veterans and beginners

Brought this game after months of my friends begging me to get it and found myself pleasantly surprised how good it was despite what people say this game is far easier then any of the darksouls gams iv played including bloodborn and demon souls
Don’t get me wrong the game is very difficult and iv had it for nearly a month and still haven’t beaten it
Non the less the game is a visual treat and fantastic for those who like a challenging game and definitely recommend getting a copy to anyone I think can handle it

Frustrating and broken

I bought the PS4 version for the free PS5 upgrade. Was really looking forward to playing for hours and hours. For me there are three main issues with this game. Graphics - I've been playing Horizon Forbidden West. The graphics in Elden Ring just cannot compare. They're not much better than Bloodborne which came out years ago.
Difficulty - unforgiving. Under leveled character fights completely over powered boss without enough health vials, arrows etc.
Crashing - apparently a well known error. Will be an hour in fighting a boss and the game crashes my PS5 turns it off completely. It then won't restart unless I pull the power cable and plug back in to get the message rebuilding database so my console has to repair the issue before booting up. Rubbish considering the game has been out a while, its a well known error with no patch for this issue making the game unplayable and potentially damaging my console in the process. Until they've made a patch avoid.

The graphics are amazing and the size of the map & different weapons are vast. You will be playing on this game for a long time, great value for money. But be warned it is not as easy as skyrim.

I love the negative reviews against this game.
This is by far the best game I've played and I've been playing since the Sega mega drive.

The game is hard. It teaches you the basics and let's you discover everything for yourself. You die a lot you learn and you get better.
This game doesn't hold your hand, what it does is gives you a vast open world with so much to explore, kill and discover and let's you go.

Those saying it's too hard probably played for an hour and gave up rather then tried to figure things out. Yes it's Dark souls mechanics what do you expect? The people saying this are the same people that buy COD and fifa every year and happily spend their money on a reskined game.

Dark Souls clone, including irritating difficulty making it unsuitable for someone not seriously into this style of game. No attempt to lead in casual players. No sense of story, just free roaming until you run into something too dangerous and die, going back to your last save point. Bought it today and already know I won't play again. A complete waste of my money.

After playing this for a while the game told me an area was completely safe, instead I got 'invaded' by an AI that could kill me with one hit and lost a couple of hours' worth of progress. Punished for exploring the safe house that's really fun clever game design /s . Very good game but hard enough already to be wasting my time with actual nonsense. If I could return it I would.

Difficult, dull and disappointing

Been a Dark Souls and Boodborne fan for a while, loved these games and they are designed to be difficult but fair games. This is just endlessly boring and repetitive, you seem to be at a massive disadvantage to all the enemies you fight, all are quicker and hit like a truck whilst it takes my character four days to swing an axe.

The game encourages exploration but it’s littered with traps that there’s no way to avoid without having fallen in them. Open a chest and find yourself transported to a dangerous area of the map or get locked in with a great sword wielding knight who will yeet you across the room. There’s no way to tel, it’s unfair and not fun.

The first main boss you fight will is unfair until you endlessly level up. Took me 8 hours of dungeon crawling, levelling up and exploration just to be in with a chance of success.

For me I don’t want to spend hours scouring the map only to be taken out by an imp who got lucky with bleed damage. Graphics aren’t great either.

Overall it’s really boring, it’s not fair or rewarding, its really boring, I’ve sold it after 4 days and most importantly it’s really boring.
