Impressive makeup remover, I found that it did remove waterproof makeup as well.

Nivea is a brand that my wife trusts and has used for many years.

As we are supposed to avoid going out shopping as much as possible at the moment, she looked online for a replacement for her usual makeup remover and found this ‘Micellar technology’ cleanser.

After investigating, she found that Micellar water products are made up of micelles which are tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules, suspended in soft water. Apparently, it’s this dual-action relationship between water and oil that works, a bit like a magnet to draw out the impurities in your skin, leaving it clean and fresh without the drying effect of usual soap and water.

She was very impressed, it was not greasy, felt refreshing on her face. It even removed waterproof makeup easily.
It will now become part of her beauty regime.

She liked the larger 400ml sized bottle.

At £5.50 a bottle it is also good value for money.

Does not remove waterproof mascara. Gently removes foundation, little but of eye shadow, but doesn't even tickle on mascara. Waste of money for someone like me, who only wears eye makeup

I use waterproof mascara and eyeliner. Always used Nivea daily essentials double effect eye make-up remover. Found this eye make-up remover on Amazon for a third of the price of the above Nivea eye make-up remover. Nice surprise is how well it removes my waterproof mascara and eyeliner, no rubbing, just gentle strokes did the job. Rest of my make-up came off just as easily. Great product, great price.

Not actually great, over hyped

Definitely over hyped and I seriously doubt makeup artists are using this unless they're proper cheaping out. Doesn't remove waterproof mascara, struggles with other waterproof makeup such as Estee lauder double wear foundation and other oil free ones. So even if you used a really good eye makeup remover (nivea dual phase all the way!), it's quite a poor micellar cleansing water. It would be suitable for removing a very light or clear layer of mascara, and a bb or cc cream. I'd say it would be super for sensitive skin as it doesn't do much else. And don't get me started on removing anything with a bit of sparkle through it (sparkly eyeshadow, glitter etc) haha it really just moves it around. Would not recommend.

Good for make-up removal

This is my first time using this gentle Micellar Water cleanser, and it seems quite good for removing make-up, but not quite as good as a general skin cleanser.
It is a large bottle so value for money and when I wore make-up the other day, first use in a long time, it did seem to remove the mascara, eye make-up and lippy very well. However on bare face days, lots of these at the moment, it didn't seem to deep cleanse the pores, like my usual brand.
So I think I will keep this cleanser as an eye make-up remover and purchase my usual brand for everyday deep cleansing; I just don't get that ultra clean feel with this Micellar Water, perhaps because it is gentler and different from what I have been used to.

Not the best product if you have a sensitive skin.

I have used the basic Nivea Eye make up remover for years and it has really suited me, but when I saw this new eye make up remover I wanted to try it out. First it was working well, although where it says that you don't have to rub, that's false. Without rubbing I couldn't get my waterproof mascara off. I have used half of the bottle now and recently my eyes started to water a lot. I have a very sensitive skin, I use only hypoallergenic make up made for sensitive skin, but the past two weeks when I have removed ny make up by using this product, it makes my eyelids itchy and red and I feel this burning sensation. So I stopped using it.

Not very good at removing makeup, and it's not "no scrub"

My other makeup remover had run out and I decided to try this one. It's a bit disappointing: they advertise it as a no-scrub type of remover, but I do have to rub my skin quite fairly to see some results (aka my makeup remover disk showing the dirt). It also doesn't seem to remove as much dirt as my previous one, also by Nivea.

The oil is non-greasy and gets absorbed quite quickly by my skin (something that doesn't happen usually with oils). I don't feel my skin stripped of all its natural oils and left with that dry feeling, which is nice.

All in all, it's a mixed review: it's not too harsh on the skin, but it also doesn't cleanse it very well...

I love this micellair make up remover as it’s oil based so removes my eye make up with ease, even if it’s quite heavy, compared to water based products which I have to go over and over again before it’s fully removed.

I have combination skin which is prone to hormonal ace so keeping my skin clean is essential for keeping breakouts to a minimum and this removes make up and dirt really well.

Bottle is quite large so lasts a long time and is good value for money. Not sure if this product is genuine or the packaging has changed though as my store bought purchase on the left looks different to the bottle on the right, as you can see in the photos.

I’m going to continue using it for now and will update my review at a later date.

This is the first time I'd tried MicellAIR water. It cleans my eye makeup off easily and doesn't sting the skin around my eyes. A lovely all round face cleanser. I bought two bottles, they will last for ages as I don't need to use very much and there's plenty in the bottle. I'll definitely stay with this product and recommend it
