BUYER BEWARE
This review is about the 1,100 PG biodegradable T bags
Look at the 2nd picture down that is included with the sellers description of this item. In small writing across the red cup is printed “catering”. Unfortunately it does not make clear what this means until you look closely further down the page. There is a comparison of 4 different types of T bags from PG tips, and that comparison DOES NOT include the biodegradable that is available to buy. So look very closely at what it says about the usual (non biodegradable) catering T bags before you buy, I didn’t and was left with something I didn’t want, nor is the purchase a bargain.
1. Our signature PG tips blend - no tick. So definitely not what you would normally expect from their tea.
2. Generous tea bag ideal for mugs - no tick. Conclusion only suitable for a cup, which in the uk is 150ml (believe me I measured loads of cups when filling in fluid intake charts as a nurse). A mug is approx 250 ml.
3. Our signature 1 cup blend - tick. (This is included in the sellers description next to their photographs, but no indication as to what this means).
This indicates it is only suitable to make approx 150ml of tea and I feel this should be clearly stated in the description! After trying one in a mug, in my opinion the tea it makes is very, very weak, which you may prefer. However you need 2 for a strong mug of tea, so if that is what you are looking for you are only getting 550 servings.
4. Perfect for smaller cups - tick. What is a smaller cup? Do they actually mean a measurement of less than 150ml? This also should be clearly stated.
So buyer beware when buying these biodegradable T bags, like myself you may not realise you are not getting what you think you paid for until too late!
