I've been off work with depression since last year after having to change my medication. I got to the stage where I was stable but still had really low mood.
It was suggested that I get a blood test for vitamin d deficiency. (apparently most people in the UK are during winter) My results came back that I could benefit from a vitamin d supplement.

Since I've been taking it, I've been feeling significantly better. It's only been a week or so since I got these, and I've been concerned in case it was the placebo effect, however this is the longest period for a long time that I've felt this good. I'm even starting back at work next week.
I'm aware this sounds a bit like a 'miracle cure' or something, but this has been my experience so far!
Excellent stuff.

The NHS recommends a daily amount of 400 IU vitamin D intake, and that's just between October and March because of the weather conditions -less light. During the rest of the year, this amount is much lower because you get more of this vitamin from the sun. You also get vitamin D from food, so there is not that big of a need to get those 400 IU even!!!! However, this is sold with units of 4000 IU!!!!!!!!!!! 10 times the recommended amount by NHS during winter. And it's sold as a 365 pill bottle, advertised to have one a day. CRAZY.

Bizarre reaction to this Vit D

Bought this item as I require a high dose of Vit D due to having MS. Unfortunately, I seem to have an allergic reaction to this product. I tested this on three separate occasions and within an hour of taking it I get ulcerations on my throat and mouth, a sore tongue and swollen glands. Very strange!! Wonder if anyone else has had the same problem.. my MS Nurse found this strange seen as the ingredients don’t have any nasty additives.

I took it for about a week before I started feeling the effects. I wasn't having aches anymore, I was more energetic and feeling great. However the second week of taking this I broke out in hive all over, I was terribly itchy I couldn't even sleep. After a 111 call, a trip to the doctors some antihistamines and itching cream with doctors advice to stop taking it immediately. I'll say buy this at your own risk, and be advised to speak with your gp or local pharmacist before you take it.

Had stomach pains since taking these, after researching it turns out these are double your recommended daily dose! Daily intake should be at the very max 2,000ui for adults. If you're starting off with vitamin D supplements, you should start at a much lower dose to ease your body into it otherwise you'll end up in agony like me. The tablets themselves though are very easy to swallow and small, just be wary of the dosage 😊

Vitain D levels dropped whilst taking these

I started taking one a day in November and when i went for repeat blood tests today my Vitamin d levels have dropped. Do not buy they do not work. Previously used another brand which kept levels stable but they were out of stock and so these were ordered instead. Will not order again and will return to using my other brand.

High dosage resulting in diarrhea

After taking this I was having diarrhea every single day and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong. This was the only new vitamin I added into my daily supplements routine. So I stopped taking these for three days, and no more diarrhea. After those three days I tried this vitamin D again and voila diarrhea is back the next day.

4000IU is way too much!

I was previously on a 1000 IU vitamin D, and I should have just stuck with that brand. I thought these would be better, being a higher dose, and me not getting much sunlight.
I felt odd when taking them, and my knee joints constantly hurt whilst taking these. When I stopped taking them, my knees felt better, when I went back on them, my knees hurt again. Bit odd.
I ended up just throwing them away. Super waste of money.
