The link that you have provided routes through to the following product on Amazon –

I have checked this particular product and the pack sizes that are currently available. I can advise that although we no longer currently stock the 16pack, this was a pack size that we produced until recently. Any retailer that still has stock of this pack size are still able to sell it. I have also checked the particular page on the Amazon site that you have linked to and can see that this product is listed as ‘Dispatched from and sold by Amazon'. Amazon is a registered retailer of Gillette products and because this is not a third party seller on Amazon, I can conclude that this will be a genuine Gillette product.

Some of the reviews stating these are inferior concerned me, so much so that I decided to do an experiment to determine once and for all. I found that these are just a good as store-bought and I think the negative reviews are unfounded.

In this experiment, I bought these razors and a 10-pack from my local Sainsburys. I engraved a small notch on the interior plastic part razors in an area where I couldn't see where while I was shaving, so I wouldn't know if I was using the store-bought or Amazon-bought razors. (Methodology: I made one knick in the plastic for store-bought and two knicks for Amazon bought; I made the knick at the part where razor head connects to the handle, so I can't see which I'm using while shaving.) On two separate occasions I tried shaving half of my head with either the razors while in the shower and tried to assess which razor was better. Both times I tried shaving, when I didn't know what razor I was using, I couldn't tell which razor was better. I attempted to guess which one was which, and I was right 50% of the time--I really had no idea.

Conclusion: I could not determine the difference between store-bought and Amazon-bought razors. Therefore, I think these razors are just as good as store-bought razors. I speculate that the negative reviews that suggested these razors were inferior or defective are likely succumbing to a placebo effect or perhaps they received a bad batch (which is presumably just a likely to happen with store-bought razors).

PS--regarding the blue strip that supposedly indicates when the razor is worn out: I think the blue strip fades much sooner than it's worn out. I used a razor that had a completely faded blue strip and it was just as good as the new razors I was using. To be honest, I think this might be a bit of planned obsolesce.

Overall, great razors, just as good as store-bought.

I'm really not sure about these blades, I like to bulk buy things like this as its cheaper.

However whether these are genuine or not I'm unsure, or maybe they are a cheaper version as after as little as 2 or 3 shaves the blades are blunt.

Only just started to use them and I'm already on the 3rd blade.

Quite poor quality particularly as they are sold by Amazon themselves.

Fake fusion blades

These are 100 percent fake and inferior or as others have said Gillette have made them worse on purpose in order to make people switch to a more expensive razor/blade setup. I've been using Fusion blades (the genuine ones) for years and with these I instantly noticed the difference. My 4 week old genuine blades still give a better shave. These give me cuts and don't shave anywhere near as closely or smoothly. I want a refund to be honest the difference is night and day.... AVOID

Possible fake blades

I ordered 16 Gillette Fusion 5 blades from Amazon at what seemed a reasonable price of £32.24. Not so cheap as to suggest that the deal was too good to be true.

I had read some reviews complaining that these blades were fake but favourable reviews heavily outnumbered poor ones.

The blades were delivered promptly. No complaints there. The problem arose when I opened the box. I wanted to be sure that the blades were genuine.

The blades appeared to be in Gillette packaging but they were a different colour from the ones that I have used for years. They felt different and moved differently also. Serial numbers looked iffy. I was suspicious that they were not authentic Gillette blades.

I may have been a little over cautious but I decided to return them. Better safe than sorry.

I’ll just wait until Boots or other outlet has special offer. At least the provenance will be known.

I would be wary about purchasing these anytime in the future.

A large pack of razor blades

What can I say about these, I mean all razor blades in my opinion are over priced, the more you have the more often you change them, so having 16 of them, I probably replace them far quicker than I would if I only had a pack of 4.

Razor blades don't seem to last long these days, a couple of goes and they're as good as done for, I don't have a huge amount of hair due to laser work, so anyone that does have a nice lot to shave off every day, who knows, maybe a quick shave for 2 days and then they will start to feel rough and not as sharp as they were the 1st time....

If you don't want facial hair then try something more permanent, under arms and legs maybe they would last a little longer.

Best Gillette blades ever, and I've had them all. Cose comfy shave but still not sharp enough for me for every day use but good for an every other day shave. And still great that the Gillette Fusion handle fits all so no need for upgrades there. My originals, both swivel and contour heads still in tip top condition and definitely built to last.

Value for money because I bought the pack on special offer so can't grumble.

Packaged well in a neat purpose built storage box.

Got enough for 12 months for a great price.

Happy stiff stubble shaving bunny :)

I have been buying these for years and have always complained about the cost and so have tried more competitor variants as I can remember and I see myself coming back to these all the time. I cannot believe how smooth these work on my skin compared to ALL others. These are smoother and last usually twice as long so I really will stick with these for the foreseeable future

Manual Fusion blades are always a good buy, and suit me better than all the other blades that Gillette make.
I get about 15 to16 shaves per blade which to me is excellent. The offer price was good, however I might have expected a better discount ordering 4 packs of 16 blades
I am emigrating to another country The Philippines within the next few months, lockdown permitting, and therefore could not subscribe to the further monthly discount on offer from Amazon.
I ordered 64 blades in case could not get them in Philippines for the Amazon price. Which was a pretty good offer.
