Cat poop receptacle filler does the job

The cat poops in this.
We (the cat and I) don't have strong preferences. We like wood pellet as low dust options are recommended for FLUTD (urinary issues) in males.
I like it because when he inevitably kicks it out of his covered box it's not as sharp to stand on when you're wandering around in the morning pre-coffee and without the faintest idea what feet are let alone what's under them.
I don't find any litter ever makes a difference to the amount of smell. When he poops its bad- so bad in fact sometimes his poop scares him and he runs away from it while still pooping.... which is delightful but luckily not too common.
A bonus of this is its compostable.... not that I compost it but if you see a neighbour kick your (or any) cat you can leave it on the doorstep for them safe in the knowledge it will eventually break down.. until you add to it a few days later for a while until they get the idea you should be nice to cats. Not that I've ever done that....

I have used this product for months and thought it was amazing. No dust, easy to clean and the pine smell lasted for ages and absorbed all other smells.
The last few bags have been much worse. I don't know what they've done but the quality has gone down. The last bag I had was more dust than pellets! Barely last more than a couple of days before I need to change the whole tray, much less absorbant and I wouldn't recommend any longer. I'll be searching for another brand for my monthly subscription.

I usually use another wood pellet litter for my cats but thought I'd try this one, after all there can't be much difference can there, they're only wood pellets and they're all the same, aren't they?!! How wrong I was I didn't even finish the bag before I went and bought my usual brand!! It didn't help at all with odour and just turned to mush, which my cats walked absolutely everywhere was not impressed at all and will not be buying this wood litter again not even if you paid me to use it!!

I brought my first bag on February and it was great, no smell, pellets have cream colour and absorbs very well.
And I ordered my second bag on May, it was totally different. I can smell a very strong smell immediately when I opened the bag and the colour and the texture is completely different. It was like if I have ordered a different brand. The pellets have that dark dirty unevenly brown colour and it doesn't absorb as well as before.
Very disappointed, I was going to keep using this brand. Now I am thinking trying others.

Can't give 0 stars or would. Only ordered this as usual petex litter was only available on prime with 1-2 month delivery slot.
Seeing as this was more expensive we assumed it couldn't be any lesser than the one we normally buy.
How wrong.
Firstly it comes unpackaged and as such by the time it was delivered had split all over the van and was delivered to us in a large crate which we then had to mess around decanting out.
Still thought we would give it a try and it is absolutely terrible turns to dust almost instantly would definitely not recommend this product honestly dont know how it's got such high ratings because there really aren't any positives

I don’t really like this product, we have two litter trays in our house and two cats (I use a good amount of wood pellets in both probably filling close to half the tray), after one day both trays are more like sawdust than wood pellets where the urine has absorbed and burst the pellets making it almost impossible to scoop out without using latex gloves and a doggy bag.

I won’t be ordering again.

Had cats all my life, sadly my older cats died and we got a new kitten aged 8 weeks old. He came to us litter trained on clumping litter but we wanted something more environmentally friendly. Reviews for this looked good but some people said it was powdery. Had used a well known brand of recycled paper before that close 50% more and wanted something cheaper. This wood pellet cat litter ticks all the boxes, absorbent, smells good, efficient, cost effective and environmentally friendly. Get a lot of use as breaks down when urinated on, scoop out and replace, keeps smells to a minimum unless the cat does a smelly poo. Great value for money, highly recommended. Cat likes it too. My 8 week old kitten switched to this with no accidents so far!

Despite having had my cats over a year now, I am struggling to find that perfect cat litter that doesn’t leave too much of a bad smell. They’re used to me switching up the litter so they had no problems with using this except just a little bit of hesitation. They’re used to the stone type, but wondered if this wood option would leave a nicer, woody smell.

It smells fine to begin with, but despite constant scooping out and regular deep cleans of the trays, it was starting to smell a bit like a strange duck zoo scent... Perhaps this is just because I’m not used to the wooden litter, but it did become a bit much and found myself looking forward to finishing the bag so we could switch back to normal litter.

The other major issue was the tracking. Since the pellets are quite big I didn’t think there’d be an issue, but once it gets slightly wet it breaks down into a soft mulch - this sticks to the paws and tracks in places I didn’t even think the cats went! This product therefore took a lot of cleaning, despite also having a cat litter tray pad down underneath the trays.

Overall, the scent worked well to begin with, but I think with having 2 indoor cats it became a bit overpowering and essentially not a smell I am used to. It took more cleaning effort due to the mulchiness of the pellets once they’d absorbed any fluid. Personal preference is important when it comes to litter but I don’t think that this one is for us.

“Clumping?” I don’t think so!

I was really hopeful about this product - glad to do more for the environment and was led to believe it would be more economical.
In actuality, this product doesn’t ‘clump’ in any way, shape or form: it turns into to loose sawdust! It also didn’t help on the odour front. Trying to scoop out sawdust ‘cleanly’ is not that easy and as it needs to be done frequently (although I only have one cat!) I have worked my way through the entire bag in three weeks. Very disappointed.
I won’t be purchasing this particular product again.
Not very economical as the bottom third of the bag was already sawdust! GRRR!
