4.0 out of 5 starsI recommend. Have been a Veet Wax strip user for many years.

Have used Veet wax strips for many years + consider them a darn site better than having to shave every couple of days. Recently saw the ad. on tv for the Gel Strips + was keen to try. Was initially disappointed by so many seemingly bad reviews, but it struck me that many of these folk were using Veet strips for the very 1st time + there is a knack to using them.
My order arrived today + this was a big test as I normally wouldn''t have done my legs just as yet. The ordinary wax strips, though good, have always seemed incapable of removing hair only 1-2mm long. I've never been able to remove the tineiest, shortest hairs.
Am absolutely delighted as the new Veet Gel strips, removed all of them! The random, slightly longer 5mm hairs were also removed.
Results:
Unlike the ordinary wax strips, the Gel Wax strips separate without having to be warmed between your hands first.
The gel strips have a pleasant scent.
The gel strips are not painful. Neither are the ordinary wax strips tho'. If you have only ever shaved, then first time users might find it takes a couple of swipes to get used to it. But it doesn't hurt.
If all the hair was not totally removed with a gel strip on the 1st attempt - it was removed with the 2nd or 3rd attempts. I would place the strip vertically + if that didn't get them all, I placed it horizontally + then got them. If that didn't work, using the same strip, I put it on again at a slightly different angle.....+ it worked. I got the lot!! I suppose each hair grows differently + just changing position of strip + pulling at a different angle, shifts them all. Trial and error. As mentioned, my legs weren't desperately needing to be done anyway, so am chuffed to bits that the tiny hairs have also been removed. To do both legs I used 5 strips total.
To finish off, the scented soft tissue wipe then easily removed any remaining residue leaving my legs feeling smooth.
As with the older version wax strips - a small patch of gel would sometimes be left behind on my leg. As with the wax strips, it's easily removed by just dabbing the sticky strip on top of the offending patch + it lifts off again easily.
I tended to get rather sticky hands but I was working quickly; reusing the same strips over + over + not taking the greatest of care. I am a tad cack-handed anyway, but by applying the scented wipe to my legs at the end of the task, my hands were soon cleaned of any stickiness.
Definitely recommend over and above shaving, esp. as I now won't have to worry about the condition of my legs for at least a week or more. Sometimes I can go a couple of weeks, but obviously timescale will vary from person to person.
My only negative is that I wish there were more scented tissue wipes included with the box of 40 strips. Only four scented wipes - seems rather stingy.
I feel I should add: I paid for the Gel Wax strips + am not connected to Veet in anyway whatsoever.
