5.0 out of 5 starsAdjusting is Key. Brilliant!! Read if you own smaller monitors.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 October 2019
This is for you all who have a small desk. I have a small desk only 50cm depth and wanted this for my gaming setup, when I first installed the monitors it was terrible. They are 24 inch monitors x2, and because of it can fit up to 27 inch the arms at the back was sticking so far out that it hit the wall, which means I would have had my monitors protruding out about half way in the centre of the desk. So I instead decided to modify the stand by removing one of the arms bars leaving the bracket with 2 bars on one side and only one on the other side. Doing this fit them perfectly with still a little bit of room to play around with to adjust. So if you do have 24 inch monitors or 22 inch monitors, you will need to remove one of the arms bars so that it sits nice and flush. Behind the monitors both arms and nice and straight. Very happy with product and very strong. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect as alternative use for 1 arm for heavy duty DSLR camera for top down filming
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 November 2019

The media could not be loaded.
Let’s start with the main component of this overhead video setup which is this Heavy Duty Twin Monitor Arm Desk Mount from 1Home. I bought if off Amazon for under £19.00 on a lighting deal, normal price is £25.00 or $30.00 at time of writing.

Pros

The installation was really easy, as you are given 3 mounting options, one for a desk clamp setup like this, and 2 types of a grommet base style install. The provided cable clips allow for decent cable management, but what I found really interesting was this included additional clip holder for allen keys. That’s a feature I wish every manufacturer would include in their design. Over the years you end up collecting a bunch of allen keys that you can’t link to any furniture, but this solves the problem..

The monitor arms allow 2 monitors up to 27” to be mounted. You can easily adjust its height, and the monitors can be rotated 360 or tilted to your viewing angle.

The reason I went with a heavy duty arm is to mount heavier cameras, as many youtube tutorials seem to only cater for lighter smartphones or simple point and shoot cameras.

I used one of the arms to attach this Canon EOS 650D dslr. The monitor I'm using is a Benq 1080p 22 inch monitor which I already owned.

Cons:

Not really any con for the price point. The only minor gripe is the inability to individually adjust the monitor height.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great value for a standard mount
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 April 2019
Colour Name: BlackVerified Purchase
To start with, all parts were in the box and accounted for including instructions. The instructions itself were quite clear and easy to follow with diagrams and written English. I've had issues assembling less expensive items in the past with diagram only instructions which was a nightmare!

The quality of the mount itself is very good for the price (£24.99 at time of typing), all the parts done their job correctly, no threading issues on the screws, and the look of it is great once it's assembled, I have no fear of the monitor dropping with the screws and security bolt in place.

Providing you have enough slack on the power and display cables, the rotation aspect is great, allowing you to rotate the screen entirely upside down if you wish! The screen tilt in relation to your height is also very good, allowing for the smallest or tallest person sitting down to view their screen comfortably.

The negatives however, it was a hassle getting the monitor tilting part (2nd photo) to stay put, I found out you have to really tighten it with the Allen keys provided to prevent the monitor swinging down. For reference, my monitor is an iiyama Black Hawk G2530HSU - 24.5 inch monitor weighing in at 7KG (10KG max load on each arm). Another negative, and not sure of the workaround, and that is the height of the monitor is fixed, unless you untighten the main pole bolt to raise or lower. However, even gas powered arms on more expensive models need to be locked in with keys. As an improvement, maybe having a clamp system instead to lock and unlock the height. But, a clip is provided to hold 3 sizes of Allen keys used to adjust the settings on it.

Overall, very happy with my purchase, it's not only saved desk space, but probably saved my neck and back, craning to see the monitor when now it's at the correct level. Would happily endorse/recommend this product.

Talk about a solid build! This unit is very sturdy - and I have two 27 inch monitors mounted on it. The build quality is excellent and it's easy to assemble. Just follow the guide. It comes complete with a choice of fittings if you need to clamp to a desk top versus screw/ bolt in place. Beware....it's no lightweight, but that's not a bad thing considering what it needs to do. Super purchase and I think excellent value.

5.0 out of 5 stars An unassuming, sturdy mount.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 March 2019

I have a pair of AOC Agon AG241QG monitors, which weigh about 7KG each with the stands all said and done. I needed a way to A) reduce the overall weight on my desk and B) get a bit more flexibility with the overall position of my screens. I use my set up for a broad variety of things, including media consumption and creation, engineering, design etc. The first thing I want to highlight about this stand is that it does have a bit of heft to it, tipping the scales at 4KG, but that’s no bad thing: It feels well built, sturdy and reassuring. The arms are solid, perfectly stiff and with no noticeable flex. With that said, the bolts at the hinges are super tight and were difficult to loosen just enough that I could position things, though a little patience and elbow grease soon solved that problem. Putting the stand together was a breeze, mounting it on the desk was super straightforward and the included instructions are really quite clear. The monitors simply slide on to the end of the arms, with a small retaining bolt to hold things in place. The included cable management clips got all 10 of my cables through comfortably but I doubt you’d get more in. I’m overall extremely satisfied with this stand - for what you pay you’re getting an excellent bit of kit.

Please don't feel offended. All I want to say is, that you need a bit basic experience how the mechanics of these mounting systems to prevent damage.

I used it for my 24" LG screens. The assembly is straight forward. and includes a second mounting option for (preexisting) Wholes in the desktop. Which is nice. All required tools are in the package. No premium tools. But they'll do the job.
The vertical joins are tightly screwed, make sure to not use the screen when positioning. These modern ultra thin displays are not strong enough leavers and might bend or even break. If you handle it directly at the arms, it works just fine.
The horizontal adjustment (forward/backward) however was rather lose, causing the displays to tilt forward. The screw feels a bit delicate. So be careful when. It does not need to be super tight to keep the screen in position.

Remember: Screws are like people, they cannot do their job if you tear off their heads.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money.

I purchased this as I thought it seemed reasonable for the price and I'm very happy.

It was well packaged, feels very sturdy and comes with two mounting options, which is very lucky as my desk wouldn't have allowed for the clamp that I initially purchased the mount due to having in the first place.

I have it fixed after drilling a 10mm hole and securing with the supplied bracket and fixing screw.

The package comes with everything you need (spanner, and two sizes of allen key), VESA mounts (which have screw holes for 75x75 and 100x100) for the monitors and standoffs incase the monitor isn't flat.

Intially I had a 21" AOC monitor and a 24" Iiyama, however I'm now using x2 24" monitors with no issue. Will take up to 27" I believe.

Would highly recommend.

1.0 out of 5 stars Warning! Through hole/grommet desk setup not fit for purpose
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 July 2020
Colour Name: BlackVerified Purchase
The bolt with plastic knob is not safe or designed for use in the through hole setup. The knob on the handle is just pressed onto the end and the bolt actually fits through the washer and support plate.

As you tighten the bolt, or setup monitors and push the pole around, the knob just slides off the back of the bolt, then everything comes crashing down, if you don't catch it all you could loose £££££ when your monitors hit the floor, or worse a young child (or dog).
As can be seen from the sellers pictures this used to come with a bolt for the through hole desk setup. The instructions only list the knob'd bolt as part of clamp-b and instruct you to use this for the through hole/Grommet configuration.

For through hole/grommet use you will need to pick yourself up either an M10 nut or two, or an M10 bolt to ensure the product is not dangerous.

This does not affect the C clamp usage as the hole for the bolt in the C clamp is threaded.
Seems some penny pincher has thought they can save money by reducing the BOM without bothering to confirm why there were two bolts originally provided with the product.
One would think this product (and all clones) should be removed from sale until this issue is rectified.

Other than this issue it seems fine so far.

Conor Stewart
3.0 out of 5 stars I've owned this since June 2019
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 August 2020
Colour Name: BlackVerified Purchase
I've had this monitor arm now for just over a year, which I feel makes me qualified to talk about it with expertise - as this was my first monitor arm I can quite happily guide you through the build process. Make sure to leave a window open, even if you're assembling this in winter. And make sure no small children are around because they are likely to get an earful.

This BONTEC Dual Monitor Mount for 13-27 inch LCD LED Monitor Computer PC Screens is exactly what it says it is. It's a Dual Monitor Mount for 13-27 inch LCD LED Monitor Computer PC Screens by Bontec.

The installation

This is also the first con

This has got to be the most frustrating thing to get to the desired height, especially since when you're sitting down you can't make any micro-adjustments. Getting this for ergonomics? Forget it. It will break your back the handful of times you will need to take off the monitors, untighten the bolt, retighten, put the monitors back on, plug it all back in and try it out again.

Maybe that's why they give you a slide on screen fitting, which is apt because you'll be taking them off then you want to make even the slightest height adjustment

Which leads to con 2. There is no easy height adjustment. You can adjust the tilt up or down, you can move the monitor left and right, but unless through the power of prayer or a fluke this will not be at the height you want it to be at. Feel like standing up? No. You can't. Don't. Feel like making a bit more room under your monitor to quickly slide something behind it? Maybe reach something that's fallen back there? Nah, push it to the side should you have adequate horizontal space and if you don't then the item is lost to the void forever.

Con 3

Bit OCD? Want to make the edges of your monitor line up perfectly and have them be parallel? Nah. At least not for me, I had to tilt them slightly to that they would lean on each other (if you have got this, you may know what I'm talking about) just to make it appear that they are edge to edge with each other. I'm not using big screens either. These are light Samsung screens that weight about the same as a kitten.

My monitors were also never straight. It always seemed to lean to one side, a constant uphill battle (literally) as making the monitors parallel to the table was not an option. It was either edge to edge screens, or parallel to the desk - you can't have both with this BONTEC Dual Monitor Mount for 13-27 inch LCD LED Monitor Computer PC Screens.

They also didn't include any rubber or whatever is supposed to be the connection between the main pole that holds everything and the arms which you Allen key down to make a grip. I had to get on to amazon support, to which they offered a small reimbursement if I could find my own solution which was the inner tube of a bike tire. And getting the thing on I swear I must have invented a few new insults.

Would I recommend this?

Pro 1
If this is your first monitor arm, and you're not fussy (and I don't mean you believe your not fussy, I mean you really have to be not OCD about your LCD) then sure, it will get the job done.

Pro 2
If you're on a budget, I will also say sure, for its downfalls - once you get it in place and don't touch it, it's fine. It holds the monitors up, and given the fact it's a monitor stand, it does stand up the monitor...

Pro 3 (?)
Also if you're into abusive relationships where this would be your spouse giving you constant headaches, then whatever you're into chum.

TL;DR: If you're into abusive relationships, headaches or on a budget I would not recommend this monitor. You will find yourself wishing you had spent more upfront for a better quality monitor stand. Your neck, back and sanity will thank you.
