How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

5.0 out of 5 starsFOR ANYONE WHO CANT READ CHINESE :D
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 February 2017
Okay, so I've not had it for long. It's small, but I guess I'll get used to that. So far it's great.
The manual came in Chinese, which didn't help at all. BUT WAIT. Luckily my brother's school exchange was over, and he's CHINESE!
He was more than happy to translate it. (legend)
Basically:
There are 19 presets to choose from, as well as the ability to make your own. Press Fn+F8 to cycle through them. I wont tell you all of them, but here are my favourite.
Rainbows, wavy, "Goes to the middle then Blasts away",and my fave, "fast and furious"
As mentioned, you can create your own by pressing Fn+'~'. The Caps lock will flash, and from there you can change the colours. It's pretty intuitive.
You can also turn the lights off.
If you press Fn+one of the F keys (i.e F6, or F1) it will do what the symbol suggests.
The keys feel awesome
This keyboard was a pain to get out of the box, but boy was it worth the 10 minutes of struggles and a broken screwdriver. There seem to be lots of different sellers selling the same keyboard (this one), but this seller was great. I asked for blue switches, and the RGB stuff. That's what I got.
Concluding, well worth the little money I spent on it.

3.0 out of 5 starsSold in UK but NOT a UK keyboard
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 November 2021
It's small (which is why I bought it), it is loud (no bad thing as I like the definite action), some of the graphics on the keys are a bit strange (the B, A and O all look a bit strange along with some of the others). The one icons I would have liked to have been lit are the secondary functions such as volume control, home and brightness etc. All of these are minor niggles and I can live with them BUT the most annoying feature (or lack of) is that it is not a UK keyboard. The @ is on the top line and when you click on it you get ", so these have been reversed which is annoying plus there is no £ sign instead it is a # and there is no # key you have to use the backward slash key (I have yet to find where that is). It makes the keyboard VERY difficult to use for normal typing so for that I would not recommend it.

Very good! In my honest opinion, the RGB on the keyboard is amazing. I brought the blue switch, it is quite a bit louder than the real Blue switches on expensive keyboards but it’s not to major. The keys when pressed down are slightly wobbly but that’s what you expect from a keyboard at this price. It overall feels nice and there are no major problems with it at the minute. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars *the* entry level mech keyboard?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 April 2019
Size Name: Blue SwitchColour Name: White/Blue LEDVerified Purchase
i replaced my cheap mech at work this, with another cheap mech, and this feels like not only an upgrade because of how well built it is (for the money), but also a chance to see whether or not you're into the idea of a more compact keyboard layout. obviously it doesn't really compare to the likes of a vortex race 3 or a poker 2 but then again those keyboards aren't a little over £30. it;s consistent, it's well built, and it does the job nicely. if you're strapped for cash but you want a mech, you should buy this.

PROS:
- it's a cheap mech keyboard that mimics blue switches fairly accurately
- almost all of the keys feel consistent in their action
- detachable USB cable
- backlit keys (if you're into that sort of thing)
- compact, standard layout
- easy to disassemble and repair

CONS:
- the enter and backspace keys feel spongy
- the media key placement is rubbish, though i fixed this by learning how to use autohotkey.
- the keycaps aren't doubleshot
- they're not cherry switches (of course)
- not enough variation in LED brightness, at least on the white version

4.0 out of 5 stars Some really odd layout choices...
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 August 2020
Size Name: Black SwitchColour Name: White/Blue LEDVerified Purchase
(My pictures have a replacement keycap set - the wonderful HK Gaming Dye Sublimation PBT keycaps - except where the layout prevented it :-( )

There's a lot to like about this keyboard with one very annoying issue.

Its nicely weighted, feels good and sturdy. Though it is lighter than my ducky one 2 mini despite being a little bigger.

I bought it with the black switches - they're nice, quiet and not bad to type on - I switch between browns and reds regularly, and I find it easy to get used to. The switch itself has a twang after a keypress - right as the spring pushes the keycap back to its highest point. Its not annoying - but its not silent.

Now to the issues. There's some big issues for those who like to customize. The Del, Esc, right Ctrl, arrow keys, and End keys are so strangely positioned. I understand what they were going for in terms of layout but it makes the keycaps almost impossible to replace (although I do understand that not everyone will want to do this - hence only one star dropped).

The Del and Esc keys are positioned as if they're a tab key (1.5x but R4 so impossible to find)
The end key and arrow keys are 1.25x which is also impossible. The End key is also R1 which is just weird.
The right CTRL key is 1x which although not impossible, is pretty rare.
(Pg Up although is the right width, its on the wrong row - although this is a little more common)
I can forgive all of these except the arrow keys. That's just plain wrong.

So all in all, a pretty decent keyboard. Its on a par with the Magicforce mini mech, although that has an 83 key ISO option, except for the customization.

Woodwork Journey
4.0 out of 5 stars Seems like a great deal for a first mechanical keyboard!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 May 2020
Size Name: Blue SwitchColour Name: Black/White LEDVerified Purchase
My black version has just arrived and I'm typing this review on it, I've coupled it to my desktop iMac, and this is my first mechanical keyboard since the 90's LOL

As this has just arrived here are my first impressions.

Construction: Actually very good, no significant flex or wobble. Seems pretty solid. One thing to be aware of though is that the contour of the keyboard when flat is a bit weird because of it's height, a wrist rest I imagine is needed unless you're a floater when you type. When you kick out the legs at the back of the underside, it does make a very nice angle to type at, however, the 'ringing' nature of the switches and mounting board is a lot more obvious, the ring is deadened when the keyboard is flat to the desk. Certainly noticeable 'ringy springs' (Best way I can describe it).

Illumination: Again very good, I have the black version and even in daylight when the keyboard light is at full power it's still very obvious which is nice and gives a great look. I realised as I'm typing this that the pic doesn't show it at full brightness.
It has on/off/breathing functionality as well as 4 levels of brightness not counting 'off'.

Keycaps: Feel nice to type with, a little smaller in width at the top and more convex than what I'm used to with non-mechanical keyboards, but they feel nice and I've had no issue with accuracy when touch typing. I imagine the font may not be to everyone's liking, but I'm sure you could swap them out if you wanted, and in fact I may well do that just for a change and a different look from time to time.

Switches: The Cherry Blues are a well known switch so I imagine these are a clone of those, however I've not used them so can't comment on how similar they are. What I can say is that there is a reasonable amount of travel as you'd expect with a mechanical, they are light to activate which surprised me but I'm quite a heavy typer so certainly not a negative, more something I have to get used to. They do have a nice tactile but light click when pressing. As I mentioned before, I don't know if the ringing sound comes from the switches or the mounting board, but it certainly gets worse when the legs are extended.
The space bar and longer keys are solid and don't wobble, I imagine due to the 'satellite' keys they're they use.

Setup: I was wary as I use a Mac, however, plugged it in, pressed a couple of switches that the mac told me to press so it could understand what keyboard it was, asked me to choose between ANSI and ISO (I just went with the former), and we were off to the races, so super easy!

Overall first impression:
I think this is superb, as I mentioned earlier this is the first mechanical keyboard I've had in a very long time, and their popularity and ability to be customised is what made me want to try one out - and a little nostalgia I imagine.
I wanted to go cheap to begin with in case I really didn't like the feel or didn't get on with them, however, I can already tell that this is the beginning of falling down a rabbit hole of mechanical keyboards. There seems to be some great communities online to help with everything from a first experience to spending hundreds and creating your own.

Not going to lie, I expected the experience with this very affordable Ajazz to not be that great, aside from the ringing noise which I'm already starting to tune out (but the reason it gets 4 and not 5 stars), this is a superb keyboard and I'm very very glad I bought it!
I can't see how you could get better for the price to be honest

5.0 out of 5 stars Great minimalistic mechanical keyboard
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 August 2020
Size Name: Blue SwitchColour Name: Black/White LEDVerified Purchase
Pretty impressed with this keyboard. I've always used mechanical keyboards, but not for gaming, I mostly use the computer for video editing, graphics, and software development, was looking for a minimalistic mechanical keyboard to pair with my macbook and decided to give this one a try. First impression is really good. The quality is great for the price, I've bought the black one with the blue bit, click is noisy, as you would expect, the pressure needed is natural, and the return of the kets is great. Struggled to find the FN key in the beginning (and if you do too, look next to the delete key on the top right). Works greatly with my macbook and looks really nice. Highly suggested.
Note: this is not wireless, it must be wired and connected to the computer to work

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for the money!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 July 2017

Having owned this keyboard for 3 months and consistently using it I can say for the money it's excellent. I took a punt because I wanted a 10 keyless keyboard but didn't want to pay the price for a "branded" one. It took some time to get used to because it's American Layout not UK but after some time it wasn't an issue, the keys for being mechanical are quite soft but overall very good ( my previous keyboard being the Razer Black Widow ) I use it to play various games such as CSGO, Leauge Of Legends, Diablo 3 and have never had any issues with keys not registering or ghosting. Lastly the LEDS are suprisingly bright and can be toggled on the fly.
TLDR; Excellent for the price keys slightly soft but do the job.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good entry level mechanical keyboard
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 December 2021

If you are, like me, interested in a mechanical keyboard, but balk at the thought of paying £100+ for one before you are sure, this is a good keyboard to try out first. I picked mine up for about £35 and I'm pleased with it. They are genuine mechanical keys and feel much better than a traditional membrane keyboard. The quality of the keys is not great, as some other reviews have pointed out. The key layout is also in the American style, but the keys are bound to the UK style layout. For instance, the @ symbol is on the 2 key, but when you press it you get ", as you would on a UK layout.

Overall, I think this is a very responsibly priced keyboard to try before you shell out for a more expensive, but better quality brand.

McCloud
4.0 out of 5 stars I'm not entirely convinced but either way the keys feel nice all the same
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 January 2018
Size Name: Blue SwitchColour Name: Black/White LEDVerified Purchase
I have owned several mechanical keyboards ranging from the budget end (like this product) to high-end Cherry models, this product was bought specifically for programming work as I am left-handed and prefer to use a separate num-pad on the left, hence the need for a 60% keyboard.

The keys have a pleasant response to them and make a 'click' sound due to the blue switches. I am suspicious that the switches are not official Cherry MX blues as, compared to my Cherry blue keyboard, the actuation point is a little lower - I have tested this several times with the same results. I contacted the seller to query this and they responded saying that they are MX blues, I'm not entirely convinced but either way the keys feel nice all the same. They feel very similar to MX browns save for the additional click. I have double checked and confirm that they are at least blue in colour!

The back-lighting is simple without fancy colours which gives it a nice clean look, the brightness can be adjusted through several settings. I do not believe it is possible to customise the lighting effects, but my view is that this is largely a gimmick anyway and not something I ever use on my other back-lit keyboards.

The keyboard copies the aesthetic style of many other mechanical keyboards around this price-point, however the plate it is mounted on is plastic with a thin metal plate on top, whereas my other (slightly more expensive) keyboard with this design has a much thicker metal plate and is generally heavier. This is a minor gripe and just means the keyboard is a little lighter than some others of this design, but it's by no means too light.

It is plug and play, no need to install any software, I assume the drivers installed automatically.

Overall this is a solid product for this price-point and delivers what you would expect from a mechanical keyboard. If you don't like the 'click' sound on pressing a key or will be using this around people who find such things annoying, I would recommend getting something else with either MX red or MX black switches, as these will provide the same benefits of a mechanical keyboard without the noise/feedback.
