Top marks for educational value, durability and fun

Orchard Toys prides itself on striking the right balance between learning and fun, and this first game does exactly that. My two grandsons (now 2 and 3) have had hours of fun playing this, first simply spreading all the cards out on the floor and seeing who can find the most matching heads and tails, then progressing to placing them face down and playing a game of memory. It’s been a brilliant way to teach them about taking turns, being patient and developing their observation skills. For them, the best part is getting to make the noise of each animal they find (and then making everyone else in the room do it as well!).

The pack consists of 24 cards that can be put together to make 10 easily recognizable farmyard animals, in addition to a tractor and a farmer. The cards are a good size (11cm x 8cm) and are made of good-quality, thick board (too thick to bend). Top marks for educational value, durability and enjoyment. I highly recommend it to all parents looking to introduce their children to the concept of game play.

Meh used them since xmas so almost a month and the paper coating has started coming off with simple games played every other day this is also the same for the other sets I have brought. Are a great time killer. Dont recommend for children who may play rough or put things in there mouth as this will only make them deteriorate quicker.

This is a lovely game to play it’s a matching game which features 12 farm characters and objects to match. You will receive 24 sturdy cardboard cards with either heads or tails on them. They really are sturdy they would be extremely difficult to bend. The cards measure 11cm x 8cm They are easy to handle for smaller hands and can be wiped clean. A lot of thought has gone into producing these cards they are colourful and its easy for the children to recognise the animals etc as they are all familiar.

They come in a lovely sturdy cardboard box, this is not too bulky and could easily be taken out with you. If you are looking to entertain your toddler whilst out.

I purchased these for my 14 month old grandson he’s been playing initially with only 6 cards the cow the pig and the duck. Just playing with him and making the animal sounds once the heads and tails are matched. He is already matching these three cards so very gradually add another pair. We thought by doing it this was we can gradually add a new character to keep his interest.

When he is older these cards will make a great memory game for us to play but my 64-year-old brain may struggle to remember the cards though!

I would highly recommend Orchard Toys Farmyard Heads and Tails and Tails. I will be looking to purchase more games from Orchard Toys.

Bought for my granddaughter and she loves it. Her mum bought 2 more of this type of game, same manufacturer for less than half the price of what I paid at a local branch of a low cost supermarket. So disappointed with the price on here. So shows i need to shop around before pressing buy!

They are just learning about animals.. and beginning to try puzzles.. these are so simple but there are many ways to play a little game with them.. very impressed. I bought the jungle ones but have also the farm ones which too are very good..

I purchased this for our grand-daughter who is just over a year old. The matching pieces are big and bright and cheerful. The pictures on them create interest even if the matching skills come later. If baby tries to taste them, they are sturdy enough to survive. This thought-provoking game was so successful that it was taken on holiday - it didn't take up too much space, either.

I bought this for my daughter who is 20m old. She already knew farmyard animals and their associated sounds, so I thought that this would be a good addition and help her in a new level of learning. It hadn’t been in the house more than an hour, and she had already emptied the box and got stuck in. She doesn’t seem to like that they don’t stay stuck together, so I think I will be getting her a little jigsaw from the same brand. These cards however are of very good quality, she can’t bend them (yet), and I think they’re great value for money!

Excellent product. Knew I would be getting a good quality product with this brand and as always that is exactly what I received! I was very excited to play with these and my 18month old but she doesn’t show too much interest yet. There are a lot of pieces so for now I take out a few animals at a time and play with fewer pieces instead which works well.
Lovely images and bright colours - exactly what a child this age needs!

I like to turn all cards upside down & let Darcy my 2yr old granddaughter try to remember where she saw her matching card.
