THESE PENS ARE AN EXCELLENT REMEDY FOR AN AFTER BITE - ESPECIALLY MOSQUITOS

I find the AFTER BIT CLASSIC roller ball type pens to very good to use after being bitten by mosquitos. The pens are filled with an ammonia liquid which can be quite repugnant to smell if you were curious and was tempted to place your nose to it for a whiff, which is not recommended to do as ammonia can give you the feeling of losing your breath. However, in this respect I find it quite harmless and neither does the smell of ammonia linger on your flesh. Having said that, it is a very efficient liquid for easing the stinging pain and swelling, following a nasty mosquito bite.

The pen is the same size as an ordinary writing pen, and is ideal for carrying in the pocket. When you discover you have been bitten, then simply remove the cap of the pen, and roller ball the pen onto the area of the bite to release the liquid ( ammonia ). I find relief upon applying the
is almost immediate. I have tried various medication - creams etcetera, and have found 'AfterBite Classic- Insect Bite Relief to be the most effective in alleviating the stinging pain and swelling of a mosquito bite in particular.

Did not work as advertised

Sadly this pen just didnt do anything to help insect bites. Didnt prevent swelling didnt stop itching.....in short didnt do anything!! We went back to cortisone cteam & Antisan. The bites were from horseflies but the pen claimed to treat those.

I’ve been using this for 5/6 years now and it honestly does the job of reducing the sting bites. We were on holiday in Mauritius & my daughter suddenly got bitten by an insect, underneath the collar line of her blouse, whilst on a speed boat (I know hard to believe but it happened)!! It happened so quickly & we Couldn’t work out what it was but in no time the wound began to swell and she was in agony & I immediately applied this on her & it obviously, stung at first but then began to reduce. Used it throughout the day till we got back to the hotel & gave her an antihistamine to help relieve it further. I carry it around with me in my bag, even in the UK and trust me when I say so many people have thanked me for it!!

As someone who reacts very badly to insect bites I always make sure I have several pens of this in the house, car, boat and walking rucksack. As long as you can apply it as soon as you realise you have been bitten it really does work. The longer you leave it before applying it does reduce it's effectiveness. Smells of ammonia initially but that fades very quickly once of the skin.

Takes the itch out of bites

I always take these pens on holiday with us as it really does help calm the itch after you have been bitten. I have not found anything that works as well as this bite pen. The only negative is that it does smell quite bad and the kids hate it as they think it smells like wee. It works though and that's the main thing so I say highly recommended!
