I was forced to get a new keyboard when my old one finally gave up the ghost after one too many bits of toast / sesame seed / pistachio fell down between the keys. I'd had it for several years with no problems, to the extent there was a big shiny bit on the Space bar from use.
Having had impeccable performance from Logitech keyboards, I ordered this one, which seems from the model number to be an upgrade to my old one.
Well it's flipping brilliant. Lovely smooth action, nice layout, and some useful upgrades such as the on/off switch on the top of the deck, and a Caps Lock indicator which the old version didn't have. Can't praise it too highly really. A cheap reliable wifi keyboard which starts up with minimal effort.
I am looking forward to many happy years with my new warhorse now that the old one has been put out to pasture... I can see him out in the paddock, his Caps Lock blowing in the wind.
As for the mouse, well what can I say apart from the fact that it worked from the off and it continues to work and I've no doubt it will be a good and faithful companion to the keyboard.

I'd love to use the keyboard and mouse, but upon unpacking the box and setting it up, the USB transceiver which sits in the mouse was missing, and without that, nothing was ever going to work. Even worse, I actually came to use it just after the Amazon return period expired. I now have a couple of useless lumps of plastic.

Update!
I was about to throw away the packaging when I noticed the transceiver tucked, in a totally unobvious place, in a bit of the cardboard casing. It should really be in the mouse (where you're suppose to store it when not in use). Heaven knows how many people reporting the transceiver was missing have inadvertantly thrown it away. Rule of thumb with this keyboard/mouse - check _all_ the packaging carefully. This is not a fault of Amazon, rather than poor packing from Logitech!

2.0 out of 5 stars Functional but So Disappointing.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 October 2018
Pattern Name: ComboVerified Purchase
Had my eye on this a while after an older logitech keyboard got cranky when a cup of tea was dropped over it.

Despite this being a new model, I assumed it would basically be the same as my previous keyboard and mouse set. It was in the same price bracket. So how much different could it be? I've been using logitech keyboards for years now.

But I was wrong. The build quality is terrible on this compared to the one I got 3 or 4 years ago. That felt sturdy and survived many, many bumps, knocks and drops. Everything here feels lightweight.

The finish on the keys makes typing a less than pleasurable experience they also make more sound than on the previous model.

The mouse is smaller and so less easy to use and the clicks on the buttons are noisy, and the wheel is also noisier than my previous version. The wheel action also feels less smooth. The on/off button under the mouse rattles or knocks quite a lot as the mouse is moved around. There's a little noise as it rattles around. It will become irritating very soon I expect.

Why they've bothered to include an on/off switch on both items is a bit mystifying. Batteries hardly got eaten up by them in the past and I can't imagine anyone using the switches a lot. Also the switches don't feel like they'd stand up to much use. They money would have been better off being spent elsewhere.

The functionality is as fine as it ever was, and I'll be using it for a while as I search out a better keyboard with reasonably finished keys, stronger plastics and that a set up makes less noise.

You probably lost me over this one, Logitech.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the same as the MK270 from a couple of years ago - laggy - unresponsive - cheap - inaccurate.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 December 2019

Just writing that headline for the review I hit ridiculous lagging issues. Let me explain...

I already have this keyboard and mouse combo for my work computer. My home computer needed a replacement mouse and keyboard so I re-purchased this set. It is NOT the same as before. They seem to have made a super cheap version of the keyboard and mouse as well as not using a UNIFYING dongle. Previously it was a bottom of the range set but worked very well - somehow they managed to go below that level with this.

On top of the build quality being poorer than before the communication between the mouse and keyboard with the dongle is horrific. To begin with the dongle is NOT compatible with USB 3.0 - something that took a few hours to work out. Then when used in a USB 2.0 socket the keyboard still lags constantly. Stop using the keyboard for a minute while doing something on the mouse and when you go back to using the keyboard it's just unresponsive. Even the Caps Lock doesn't come on if you click it. Write a sentence and it's not even every other letter that eventually shows up - instead it's a jumble that makes no sense.

How Logitech have the nerve to sell this as if it's the previous version is just a joke. It's like selling a car but 2 years later selling a car with the same name, but with 3 wheels and no seat to sit on when driving, and a solid metal windscreen. That's the feeling you get using this keyboard.

The mouse isn't much better. Very jerky and again not too responsive. It's so inaccurate that selecting the number of stars for this review means being very careful. Using a mouse should not be like this.

For a test I switched to my older version of this in the same USB socket and it works like a charm.

When you use a mouse or keyboard you should NOT be aware of them - they just are there. When you pick up a drink to take a sip you aren't concentrating on your arm while doing it - with this set you are painfully aware of them at all times. That's not the way to work. This is going back and I'm going to make sure this brand isn't on the recommended peripheral list at work. Shocking.

2.0 out of 5 stars Logitech MK270 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo for Windows - Unreliable!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 March 2020
Pattern Name: ComboVerified Purchase
My last Logitech MK270 wireless keyboard and mouse combo was very reliable, easy to use and lasted nearly 6 years. This new one has been unreliable and frustrating almost from the beginning with the following intermittent faults. You can be typing away and when you look up no text is showing. This can continue for a minute of two and no amount of Ctrl Alt Del makes any difference, neither dose moving the dongle between USB slots. Then you often get time lag combine with text distortion, which means you type and 5-10 seconds later the text comes up in the wrong order! I don’t know what Logitech and/or their manufacturers have done to this new keyboard but I wish they had left well alone. Not recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars Oh no!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 December 2021

Terrible.

I got myself this as a quick and cheap replacement until after xmas. What a mistake that was.

Firstly I will say, the USB is in the top of the box, on the cardboard flap, so be aware not to throw away your box! I've seen people assume this is missing and others have thrown away the package before noticing! I don't know why this isn't in the mouse, as there is a slot for it and it's not obvious where it is, until you look for it!

The dpi wasn't great initially, I changed this in my mouse settings. I couldn't sit too far away from the PC, as the mouse and keyboard stopped working altogether, this is a small room I'm in and my PC is close, so I don't know why it's so laggy and unresponsive. They both come with batteries ready to use, I replaced these with new ones just incase it was battery power but it made no difference at all.

The mouse is too small for me personally, I don't think this is suited for gaming, you can get a better style combo set for around the same price.

I wouldn't recommend this. I've had so many keyboard and mouse sets, expensive and cheap, this is by far the worst I've tried. Shocking for Logitech as I have one of their expensive ones that is unbelievable so I assumed a cheap one would suffice for the winter but apparently not.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not unifying
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 March 2022
Pattern Name: ComboVerified Purchase
Very annoying, as I bought this to complement my existing unifying mouse when my keyboard packed up. I thought the extra mouse would be useful to keep in my work bag. But it turns out that the K270 keyboard in the MK270 combi pack is NOT unifying, whereas the K270 standalone keyboard is unifying. I even checked the spec of the K270 on the Logitech website without realising that the one in the combi pack is different. It's an OK keyboard, and it has a Caps Lock light (which the K260 didn't) which is quite useful. Not worth returning as I'll have to pay a return fee and pay more for the standalone K270, so I'll just hang on to this until I can justify buying a better keyboard.

2.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY - I really regret buying this keyboard, will probably dump it and buy decent one
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 July 2021

TWO REALLY REALLY BAD 'FEATURES'
1) Top row "feature" keys are hard-coded and one of them is SLEEP. Now imagine you have a cat who loves to get your attention by coming over to you and standing on your keyboard... yes? Well, of course, she will press the SLEEP key at least 4 or 5 times a day and totally mess up whatever you are doing.
Can you override or disable this key? NO! I searched and searched and tried half a dozen software installation. No way round it.
THERE IS A SOLUTION: physically remove the key, take out the mechanism under the key and then glue back just the top of the key. [Very tacky, but it works]
WORSE:
2) For some reason the keyboard loves to go to sleep and when it does wake up it will miss the first keystroke and then only capture a #some# of the next word or so. (Presumably this is supposed to be some kind of battery saving feature.)
WORST (and why I'm probably going to dump it):
3) It somehow buffers or holds on to windows command keys - long enough that you give up and switch between apps using mouse clicks, THEN... maybe 30 sec later splatters out the 2, 3 of 4 times you pressed the key and takes you away from the app you clicked onto. Personally I massively rely on keyboard commands Alt+Tab, Ctrl+Tab so I can keep both hands on the keyboard and only use the mouse for graphic or image functions. I am not exaggerating when I say >30-sec delay. Time and time again I have convinced myself the Alt or Ctrl key is broken, so I mouse clicked into another app, started typing there and suddenly it's gone....!!!! It's not the power save that's doing this, because I am getting normal keys appearing on screen.

2.0 out of 5 stars Starting to lose functionality
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 July 2019
Pattern Name: ComboVerified Purchase
I had this since late September 18, having returned the first one for not working. In the last month it has started to lose functionality. In that the keys doesn't always pick up what I type. So when I look at the screen I find whole words or phrases missing and have to redo it. Its really frustrating when writing a report and adding time to my task. I'm not a touch typist going super fast. Just a average Gill who needs to type up reports. I press hard enough on the keys and haven't had a problem until recently. I've tried changing batteries but to no avail. Disappointing that everything these days seems programmed to fail and force the purchase of new items. Honestly not sure If I'll try Logitech again for this reason, which is a shame because I really liked how simple it was to set up, second time around...!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the mk260
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 February 2021
Pattern Name: ComboVerified Purchase
At the end of the day this is a cheap keyboard and mouse set, and it works well enough for what it is. However there are a number of issue to be aware of:
- the mouse squeaks (no joke!) sometimes when you click it.
- the mouse is very small (about the same size as a portable Bluetooth one I own), so not very ergonomic and my hand gets tired when using it for extended periods.
- the 'enter' key is a bit spongy, making typing more tiring than it has to be. Space bar slightly spongy too but not as bad.
- The wirelsee range is pretty poor and even when sat right next to my pc the connection between my mouse and the dongle keeps dropping out if the dongle is in the back of the PC rather than on the front panel.

The disappointing think for me is that the mk260 keyboard and mouse kit (ie the predecessor of this product) which I also own didn't experience any of these issues. Disappointing that Logitech seem to have gone backwards, and I will think twice before buying any of their new products in future.

The only advantage over the older set is that both mouse and keyboard have an on/off switch so the batteries should last longer if you turn them off when not in use. However I thought the battery life on the old set was pretty good really and I think power draw when you're not using them is quite low so this isn't really a massive improvement in my books.

2.0 out of 5 stars The keys become indecipherable within weeks
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 December 2020
Pattern Name: ComboVerified Purchase
This Logitech product represents a failure by a major manufacturer, like so many in the past,
to focus on quality.
Simply, the print process they use to provide the identifiers of the keys on their very efficient keyboards is NOT OF MERCHANTIBLE QUALITY!!! It wears out within weeks.
I have replaced three (at least!) for the same problem over five years. The subject of this particular review was returned to Amazon for a refund within six months because of this recurring problem.
And because I can be s 'sucker' for loyalty as well as an eternal optimist, I waited some months and then what?
I bought a new Logitech set, in the sure and certain hope that they would have improved their manufacturing process and fixed the fault. Well they haven't!!!
