Dubious at first, but it’s brilliant!

I have tried lots of different lotions and potions to apply to insect bites to stop them itching with varying degrees of success.
When I saw this I figured I would give it a shot.

When you get over the fact you are sending several thousand volts of elastic trickery into your body, it really is wonderful.

You simply place it on the bite and press the plunger. There is a loud ‘click’ and you feel a very short, sharp tap. It’s not at all painful.
Simply click on and around the bite five or six times, and within seconds the itch fades. It’s almost like magic.

I have two of these now. My wife has one in her handbag, and we have one in the car.

Fantastic little gadget, well worth a try.

On the plus side you can put it around your neck
On the minus side, if you take it off you may never find it again
It really is the size of a key fob, and for that reason alone disappointed that there's no scale in the advert photo.
Probably my own fault for not reading the small print, quite clearly it says 25g which is about half a heaped teaspoon.

Controversial header... sorry but in my experience the females in my home found it works to stop the itching really well, so swelling can decrease naturally without breaking skin with scratching. But the males in my home and some of their male friends appeared to focused on the mild "pain" (isn't painful honestly) of the shock it gives you to relieve the itch. I would recommend as can be replied as may times as you like/can handle, so if it starts to become itching again reuse no side affects at all.

Bought these for years, many different brands but all essentially the same thing.

Works wonders on bites, stings a little bit after zapping the bite multiple times but does reduce the itching.

Not sure how it works in regards to stopping the itch but it does!

Great for any foreign holidays where there are many biting bugs around, or in my case for the EXTREMELY short summer we just had in the UK.

I've been a fan of Incognito mosquito repellant spray for a few years now.
When I was re-ordering the spary I saw the zap ease and at £6.50 thought it was worth a try for the few bites when the mosquitos do make it through.

It is a small and handy device which, as far as I can see, provides a small piezoelectric shock at the end in contact with your skin. You can see this if you squeeze the trigger in the dark.

I cannot speak for the science that the tiny shocks break down or inhibit the histamine that causes itching (I used to use anti-histamine cream for itchy bites which swell up significantly on me) but I can say it definitely works for me.

It has also seemed effective for several family and friends who have tried it.

I've just ordered 2 more.

I would say prevention remains my 1st line of defense but if you are prone to a significant reaction to mosquito bites then this is well worth a try.

Bought this on a whim for my mum who has always struggled with sensitivity to bites and has never really found anything that works. After being bitten, she would usually experience acute itching and burning and the area of the bite would swell to the point the part of the body would look distorted/deformed.
My mum used this item, as directed, as soon as she was aware of itching and saw the red 'dot' of the bite. She said the itching completely resolved after a few minutes and absolutely no swelling occurred atall- all that remained was the little red dot which disappeared after a couple of days! She has used it on many occasions now and swears by it.
Absolutely gobsmacked that the solution was so simple and cost effective after all the years of struggling!
Would recommend to anyone and everyone.
Item is also alot smaller than expected and so is really easy to carry with you.

Because I could not feel any effect I cut the devise in half and pressing the button a number of times I could just see a tiny spark from the end of the wire. As the wire is hidden behind the plastic maybe this is why I could not feel anything.
Had no effect on my bites at all.
A large ice cube held against the bites is giving me a couple of hours relief now.
Dubious value and much more expensive than a few bags of extra large ice cubes.
