Great quality and seems much more expensive than it is!

Baylis & Harding make great hand washes, which leave your hands feeling really nice and clean and leave a great subtle scent. Buying them straight from Amazon is much cheaper than in the shops and using subscribe and saves means you never run out.

The sweet mandarin and grapefruit scent is fresh and zesty and leaves your hands smelling really nice and clean. You don’t need a lot either which is nice. This is a firm favourite along with the ginger one.

The ONLY downside to these is the dispenser never seems to be pointing forwards, but you can easily change this by loosening the cap slightly, twisting till it’s pointing forward, and tightening back up. There’s an art to it but once you’ve done it a few times it’s easy.

Poor quality knock off. Even says Made in China on very low quality bottle. Liquid is thin and runny and definitely not to the standard of genuine Baylis and Harding product. Yes it was cheap but you expect a company like Amazon to make sure they are selling the genuine thing especially when they are the ones fulfilling and delivering the item

This package was a big let down! The cheap looking white plastic pump tops fitted on this batch are not a good look! Unlike the 1st order that I bought about 2 months ago. These bottles look cheap & nasty! Bayliss & Harding products are usually quite "posh" upmarket looking products, but im afraid this latest batch are a big let down on their packaging look!

Either fake or have they moved manufacturing to China?

Hadn’t noticed before but all of the B&H soap I’ve bought from Amazon recently has been made in China vs the supermarkets here stocking the ‘made in UK’ bottles.
Completely different product, colour, consistency, and effect on the skin.
Packaging on the made in China stuff is also awful, with the plunger breaking/not working.

Explains the bargain price now, but I’ll be avoiding in the future for ethical, and environmental concerns.

I buy these regularly with subscription (bought 13 times) and I was really happy with these, quality and everything. This time the difference in the packaging was more than obvious! The sturdy pump with the logo on is replaced by a cheap white pump. The seller clarified that this change came as an alternative due to COVID-19. This is their answer to one of customers question. I could accept temporary replacement if I was informed of that and if this was a decent one. Two out of three pumps I received are not even working! Luckily I can use the pump from the one I just finished, which had the original one! I will monitor the quality of the soap and I will be very sceptical in continuing my subscription!

I am disgusted with the false advertising. The plastic pump on these are not like the picture and you know very well you should change your picture as you are wronging people. I would not have bought it if I knew it was to be like this and it doesn't matter if it was written down below in the description, it is still false advertising!

This is a review of Baylis & Harding Sweet Mandarin and Grapefruit Hand Wash, 500 ml, Pack of 3 which I bought when Amazon had it on offer at £4.50 for the pack of three. I had always seen Baylis and Harding products as being something which middle-class twits, with more money than sense, bought for other people as gifts. So I was quite surprised to see it on offer at a relatively affordable price, especially during a global pandemic when people were incessantly washing their hands.

However, when we finally chucked the rest of our Aldi strawberry handwash in the bathroom into our SVAVO automatic soap dispenser in the kitchen (see separate review) and cracked open the Baylis & Harding for the bathroom, I have to confess that it was quite an anti-climax.

It’s fine but it’s nothing special. The mandarin and grapefruit fragrance wasn’t particularly strong, which you might see as a positive or a negative, depending on taste. It was quite runny, rather than the thicker consistency that we associate with better quality liquid soaps. Distinctly underwhelming, in fact, so I won’t be buying any of it as presents for my middle-class friends. Glad to have tried it when it was on special offer, anyway.

I have seen several people in reviews saying this is fake , as it’s not a brown gel in colour, and soap gel not as thick.
I have contacted Bayliss and Harding’s head office , and they confirmed it is a genuine product variation.
I do agree the original formula was a thicker brown gel, and had a greater scent.Hence our disappointment

Now made in China not UK. Scent is slightly different. We think a little sweeter. Maybe more ginseng than black pepper. Not as warming peppery as we like. Won’t be ordering again until the product is back at UK production qualities.

Labels are poorer quality. Bottle is poorer quality. Overall what was a great product has been downgraded due to decision to offshore production and that’s a real shame having found a soap we like. Back to the search for a favourite soap.

As others have said, this appears to be a slightly watery version of the stuff bought in British Supermarkets. The cheap pumps and label ‘Made in China’ seem to suggest dumbing down of the brand. The bottles are made of thinner plastic as well. I hope that the company produced this and that it is not some Chinese knock off after all, I bought it from Amazon and not a third party seller.
It is high time that products that display England proudly on the front of their products actually make the stuff here!
Update: contacted Baylis who said they are now using China as one of their sources! Bottles with the cheaper clear pumps seem to be the ones to avoid (if you want British made liquid!).

Cracked, leaking bottle. Genuine product??

The box arrived looking like it had been kicked around the warehouse for a football and I wish I’d taken a picture of it unopened due to the issues inside. As you can see from the pictures, one of the bottles had cracked and therefore leaked all over the other bottles and even escaped the protective plastic to leak in the box. The other picture shows quite a colour difference between the remaining 2 bottles which leaves me questioning the authenticity of this product. The bottle that leaked was emptied into an old empty bottle so I could use it, but it didn’t flow nicely, it sort of ‘plopped’ out in slimy lumps so again leaving me wondering if it’s the real thing or not. I am very disappointed with this delivery and if I choose to buy from B&H again, I’ll do it from their main website.
