Some Important Comments!

I've written this to put right a couple of misleading commments in other reviews here although I can understand why they were written. One relates to the mouse arriving without the USB dongle. I made the same mistake - my mouse arrived, no visible dongle included in the package. I was in the process of trying to return the item when I discovered the USB dongle is literally tiny and is fitted into the back of the mouse. Take the back off and you will see a tiny section to the left of the mouse with the Logitec logo on. Pull it out and hey presto, there's your dongle (see the pics for details.) Secondly, there was also a comment about the little LED light on the back not working and the buyer therefore considering the mouse faulty. I initially thought the same - I had turned on the mouse and could see it was working fine on the screen but noticed the LED on the back wasn't lit up. However, the Logitec website clears advises the LED light on this mouse is an optical LED and is invisible to the human eye. With these things cleared up I would say this is a perfectly good mouse for the money; it seems to be functioning well so far but if that changes I will amend this review to reflect that.

Nice but did not work straight away!

So I purchased this to allow me to work whilst on business travel. Unfortunately unpacking and pulling out tag for the battery the item did not work. I checked it all, replaced the battery but to no avail. Big disappointment!!

Anyway, as the item was relatively cheap I managed to survive with a wired mouse for the duration of my trip. SO why did I not contact Amazon?? Well, I have been ordering quite a few things lately with Amazon and there have been niggling issues with most of them and Amazon have been great in resolution in each and every case and for the sake of £7.99 I decided to take this one on the chin.

UPDATE so today, just over two weeks since I order the item, I was looking at the mouse and checked online if others have had similar issues. There were some great YOUTUBE videos and I quickly dismantled mine, had a little fiddle around and noticed one of the cable clips had come of its mounting. After pushing this to secure it I put the mouse back together and it now works!!!!! For £7.99 I'm not going to complain and happy I managed to get it to work

I ordered this for my laptop, but the USB connector part was missing. My preference was to make a request for the missing part, but I was directed to Logitech website and it proved to be so complicated to make this simple request, that I decided that I would return the item instead and start again. Hopefully the next one will have no parts missing - fingers crossed. The mouse itself seemed to be OK, but couldn't use it without the USB part, so I'm unable to rate it (had to give one star as it wouldn't allow zero).

I normally buy the Patuoxun mouse for our office but they were out of stock. I should have waited.
Instead I bought two of these budget logitechs. First one did not connect to any off our office desktops. Never experienced that before.
The second one worked but frankly this is not a good quality product.
Basic design, no grips, not a single frill. Looks plain and cheap.
Unnecessary on/off switch undernearth. Not sure what that is all about.
I don't expect the one that works to last very long.
Fortunately for me, I am not the one who has got to use it this rubbish mouse.

Far superior alternatives for same sort of price. The Patuoxun is a far better choice.

3 weeks of normal use, and now has ADHD

This worked like a mouse for about 3 weeks, now the cursor flies all over my screen, jumping from one side to the other. I have changed the battery 3 times, no change. This is not a setting, not a speed of travel adjustment, this is hyperspace disappear from one location and just appear in another, it makes the mouse unusable, it means you have to buy another mouse, and this time not Logitech!

When it arrived it worked intermittently and I found that a new battery made it work OK. After another few days it stopped working and the battery was flat again. I decided to order some Duracell to be sure the battery was ok, but they just lasted about 3 days. By the time I had looked into this, ordered batteries etc, my 30 days return window had expired. I can't find any way to return the faulty item to Amazon and the Logitech website is no help at all. Very disappointing to find no after sales service as I have other Logitech wireless keyboards and mice that all work extremely well so looks like just this model is suspect. Oh well just have to put it in the bin!

With this treatment of the client, few of them will remain. Yesterday I described a case with a keyboard. Today is the time for the mouse. Late one day (norm). Battery, replaced and worn, naturally. And the mouse, of course, broken !!! Instead of delivering to the front door, the driver chose to look around the area and entered the private part of the building. I was promised many times and it won't happen again! I spent several hours explaining these cases. Without success.

I am quite unable to get this device to work despite changing the battery. I have used a cordless mouse before and there is no reason why this should not work as well. I have arthritic hands so am unable to take the thing apart. The expense and faff of returning it would be out of proportion to the purchase price so I shall bin it 7 days from now unless you send a courier to collect it - not worth it really! I'll just make a note never to buy a Logitech mouse again.

I'm not sure how long these things are supposed to last, but this one expired after 6 months. It wasn't a laser tracking problem, but a problem with the left button, I think. It would drop things - during a drag n' drop in the wrong place, and issue more than one click at a time, with odd results. I'm not sure how it happened, but somehow my entire OneDrive disappeared. Thankfully, I only use OneDrive for transferring files between computers, so no major damage, but I might easily have lost all my "safe" cloud-stored work.

I've now reverted to Tecknet, which is working fine, so it's probably not down to me losing my marbles.

Having had my moan, I've an identical-looking earlier Logitech model that's been working fine for 18 months.

This logitech M185 wireless mouse has got to be the worst thing I have purchased on Amazon, its less than 6 months old, I was editing a document, trying to select text was a nightmare, it sometimes would drag half the selection to another area or worse still it would completely disappear, and sometimes it wouldn't even put the cursor where I wanted it, it wasn't a battery issue either. I gave up on it and threw it in the bin, and then got an old trustworthy usb mouse from the loft. Don't buy.

Incredibly cheap and flimsy. Definitely not worth more than £10. I've had intermittent, clunky tracking of the cursor to the mouse – it is so frustrating. I partially solved it by moving the USB dongle receiver to within 30cms of the mouse. Which almost defeats the object of a wireless mouse. This thing is going back to Amazon, it is practically useless and really cheap feeling. Not what you'd expect of Logitech (or is it as I just returned some terrible bluetooth speakers with faults – so, 100% return rate for Logi products this year).
