5.0 out of 5 starsCured my West Highland Terriers hotspots and yeast infection
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 May 2019
My 9 year old westie suddenly developed a bad case of hot spots with a secondary yeast infection. He started getting scabs around the base of his tail which slowly moved up his back, under his belly, then up his throat and onto the top of his head. He was already on a raw food diet, never ate treats or anything other than his own food. He never had any skin problems until after being on antibiotics for a month after getting an abscess caused by an insect bite. He was put on Antibiotics again twice, both times the scabs went but came back again after the treatments had finished. He was constantly itching and unhappy. Then over months I read everything I could on the subject, tried adding pro biotics to his food, no change, bathing in diluted apple cider vinegar / including it in his food as suggested on other sites, nothing, tried epe-sooth shampoo, nothing. Nothing worked for 8 months. Paid £400 for allergy test to be told he's potentially alergic to almost every meat, dust mites and grasses. It was then i brought the hibiscrub. Washed him 3 times a week (diluted with water) for 1st week, then twice a week following 2 weeks. All scabs completely went and have been gone now for over 6 weeks. Still eats same food, walks in same parks etc. I just wish I'd tried this last year and saved him the stress of turning into a huge crusty itchy oozing scab. He's so much happier again and so am I. Nothing stresses you out more than seeing your beloved pet suffering and not being able to help them. Im writing this because it MIGHT help someone else who is having the same problem. If you are and it works then that's brilliant. If it doesn't, just keep looking.
