Excellent for warming and relaxing muscles and enabling me to sleep.

You do need to expose them to the air before applying, after having removed the backing - that’s how the charcoal is activated - if you apply them too quickly they don’t heat up

Pointless! Get the roll on!

They don’t do a thing!! They don’t give any heat sensation at all, I don’t get it?! I’ve followed the instructions on a few packs now, and nothing. I’ve tried shaking/wiggling the pad to “activate” it like you need to do for those hand warmers, or even the cold pack things you get in a first aid kit - still nothing! The roll on Deep Heat is by far the best of the range. They stay put when where applied, they are relatively cheap for what you get - just wish they worked!

I had ordered these as I had bought them before from my local chemist and worked a treat on my back, but when I purchased only to find they had NO heat coming from the pads had tried all the pads only to find them all total rubbish, contacted Amazon with out any satisfaction ... this had been a total waste of my money and would not recommend anyone buying this product.

Are these even really made by Deep Heat?

I've been dealing with a really painful neck and back, which has required around £300 in chiropractors fees to make me feel more normal again in the past month. As part of my therapy the Chiropractor recommended heat on my shoulder and neck, I usually do this by hot water bottle but as I work at a desk it's really difficult to get that to stay in place. So I thought about these patches. There are a couple of brands knocking around, but as an ex Sunday league footballer, I know the power of deep heat rub - and assumed these would give me the heat and without the smell (you know the smell- every football team changing room has the same deep heaty smell!!!.)

Anyway, they arrived, I followed the instructions stuck it to my back and waited for the magic to happen...
And... Nothing.. No heat, no smell (good thing) no nothing. I was sure I had done something wrong, so I re-read the instructions and no.. i was doing it correctly, they just didn't want to get hot..

Maybe I had a dodgy one.. so the next day I tried again... and.... once again no heat what so ever. useless.

They have been in my draw since then, but this morning I had such an ache from my back I thought I would try a third patch.. after about 20 minutes I could just about feel a change in temp.. but it wasn't "Hot" and certainly wasn't "DEEP HEAT"..

Seriously disappointed, and reading reviews I appear not to be the only one..

I can't even return them as they are opened and used.. such a waste of a fiver.. but thankfully it was only a fiver!!!

Would never buy again.. will have to go back to stinking rub instead..

Great that amazon delivers so quickly for prime members. I have intermittent back pain and use heat pads and gel which generally do the trick after 3 to 4 days. These are so disappointing that I wonder how they get away with it. Everyone who uses heat pads knows that they can be unreliable and unfortunately these are. 3 out of the 4 in a,pack did not heat up. The very first one did heat up wonderfully and I had some pain relief, the rest didn’t and despite the cheap,price will not buy again. Will anyone please let me know a reliable brand?

Was miserable last night and tried a patch on my ankle and another on my lower back.
There was NO HEAT from either one. I have two left and will try waiting 5 minutes before applying as
suggested by another customer.
If they don't work I will request a refund as they aren't cheap and aren't reusable.
If there is a 'Use-by' date it isn't on the box!

I pulled a muscle in my upper arm and wanted something convenient to keep heat over the area since that was helping but I couldn't get anything done while holding a wheat bag/hot water bottle there, I thought these Deep Heat patches would be great but unfortunately they didn't really do anything.

They did warm up, but just barely. I could feel it coming from the top of the patch if I had my hand over it but none of it radiated out down through the patch to where I had stuck it to my skin. The edges constantly peeled away - but that was possibly because of it being over the curve of my arm, if it was somewhere flat I might've been ok - and after about 3 hours I got annoyed and took it off because it just got in the way and wasn't helping.

Admittedly the patch did keep it's warmth for a full day, but you have to basically be holding it down over the area to feel that and that defeats the object, and it really was not hot enough to provide me with any relief.

The patches stick reasonably well, but other than that they are devoid of positives. Rather importantly, given that they are sold as heat patches, they generate no heat at all. After applying one as per the instructions, waiting an hour, then checking the temperature. I found it to be exactly the same as my skin temperature. Meaning any heating it does produce is less effective than the body's own abilities.

Rather than spend money on these, simply sellotape a five pound note to the afflicted area of your body. It will cost the same and have exactly the same therapeutic effect.

Works just as well as meditated gel, easy to apply and has good suction. So stays on the skin without moving, so you can carry on with your daily routine without worrying it will slip off. Targets the pain area and I can ensure you it lasts a couple hours. But I think whether it lasts up to 8 hours or not depends on how severe your pain is.

Great Warmth - Long Lasting

Recently I have been enduring a second bout of 'rotator cuff' pain or something very similar. Initially I reached for some pretty strong pain killers but they just didn't seem to work that well and I was concerned about using pain killers potentially for quite a long time.

The information about this condition seemed to be saying that warmth or cold treatment could help ... so without much optimism I bought some Deep Heat patches. Well ... all I can say is that for me ... and I emphasise for me ... the patches really work.

Even with the top of the front shoulder joint not being the easiest place to stick a patch onto ... I managed OK and varied the position a bit with each new patch. At night I took the recommendations and put the patch onto the shoulder of my pyjama top. Whether directly on the skin or on a lightweight garment ... I have found that these patches really do work.

Importantly these patches do not get 'hot' ... just a nice degree of warmth and as it can be put exactly on the point where the pain is worst it really is surprisingly comforting and it does reduce pain. The patch takes a few minutes to warm up after the backing is removed ... but you can stick it on immediately. The warmth lasted all night and well into the next day. In the early stages when the pain was 'dire' I put a light cardigan over my top and that helped conserve the warmth.

I have been using the patches for a good 2 weeks and am at the stage where I have generally pretty good of my arm back altho I am being very careful in what I do. I am stocked up with Deep Heat Pain Relief Patches just in case ... and I highly recommend them as a drug free and very effective pain relief.

I hope this feedback may help others coping with shoulder injuries ... do give these patches a try they are surprisingly effective.
