Quality product and the paper sticks are just as good

I've used this brand for all of my adult life and recently I've seen a lot of people getting upset about the plastic stick being replaced with paper, but I really can't understand why that's the case. Now I understand ithis argument with straws as paper straws just simply aren't as good as plastic straws unfortunately, but there really is no issue here on cotton buds. I've been through several packs of the new type and not one has the paper element been an issue in any way for me - they aren't too flimsy at all and in no way prone to bending any more than the plastics ones were.

Maybe other people are using them in a way I don't understand but for me these are still great - there's plenty of cheap alternatives but, like with baked beans, this is one area where I feel going to an established brand is the best bet. I've used Johnson's Baby Cotton Buds for something like 30 years or more now, and I'll stick with them forever I think as the quality is always fantastic. Some of the cheap supermarket alternatives have been terrible, with the cotton head detaching, the stick bending etc. Pay a little more for the quality here, it's worth it.

No to paper substitutes

No no no! You can save the planet sure in fact charge me more and I will plant some trees but don’t swap the plastic sticks to paper. As if sucking my Diet Coke through a napkin at Mc Donald’s wasn’t enough now I have cotton buds that bend by just looking at them. I tell you next I will be forced to use chopsticks to eat a carvery. 😢

Pack only includes 100 cotton buds the count each one as 2 for the individual.bud at each end

Disliked the fact the pack was half the size I was expecting and therefore cost me twice as much ..... they count each stick as 2 buds one for each end .... if you ask someone to pass you a cotton bud they would give you the whole stick, they wouldn't break it in half and give you and individual bud. My interpretation of the information led me to thinking it was 200 cotton buds as as far as I am concerned a cotton bud is a stick with cotton at each end. Not half a stick with a bud

Saves me a trip to the supermarket

Comparing these to the cotton buds you can get in your popular German owned supermarket in the UK these are more expensive and the sticks tend to bend while the buds from those Lidl Germans are cheaper and are a better quality. They don’t bend as easily and the cotton is just as soft.
However, having these delivered during lockdown and saving me the anxiety inducing supermarket trip for cotton buds is well worth it though.

Buds are great, but packaging is terrible

The Cotton buds are wonderful, but now it is in a paper/cardboard packaging and that is absolutely terrible. They arrived squashed and the buds had burst out. The packaging really needs to be thought on again, or go back to the sturdy round tubs with a plastic lid!

I always use these buds, but the new "environmental packaging" is just rubbish. One pack was open, another squashed so you can see the buds its not hygienic, trying to be green I used them for cleaning instead of just chucking them. Go back to the old packaging.

Is this meant to be a proper tub, or a flimsy carbdoard box?

The first 2 images of this product show a proper sturdy tub with a decent plastic lid. I received a flimsy unsealed box, & do now see the 3rd picture onwards show the box. It would be helpful if Amazon could update the images so the packaging sent is not a lucky-dip.

These are the newer eco friendly cardboard ones.

First of all I would like to say that the cotton buds themselves are fine and came as expected. However, I am very disappointed that the lid came broken and does not fit on the container. I am frustrated because I was expecting this item to last me a while and would therefore require a firm lid to sit on the container. To return a relatively inexpensive item seems petty so I will make do
