I am so glad I pre ordered this book. I have sat for 6 hours going through every single emotion imaginable! I won’t give anything away but of course Colleen Hoover has done it again. She never fails to leave you contemplating your own actions in life. The moral of this story is a one everyone can relate to. What an amazing story! Definitely a one that’s going to stay with me for a while.

**This has nothing to do with the brilliant writing of Colleen Hoover or the content of the book.**

I received my copy today which I had pre ordered and was expecting a glossy copy of a paperback as I usually receive when something is published.

What I got was ANOTHER Amazon knock off copy where they print it themselves.

I wish that it would state somewhere in the description that this is what you are receiving. This has happened numerous times and for sending as gifts this is just embarrassing.

I know this doesn’t take away how good a novel this will be and doesn’t affect the writing, it’s just disappointment when you receive a sub standard item time and time again.

Just when I thought I had read my favourite #coho novel @colleenhoover releases this beaut of a story,
So heartfelt and honest - it's a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish, so make sure you have a box of tissues at the ready. That bubble you get in your throat, that ache in your heart - that was prominent for me through the whole book.

What I Love most about Colleens books is the characters - its so easy to relate to them and to be able to emphasise with their lives and feelings. Also im in awe of the writing - how it grips you and pulls you in and makes you believe that you're in the story. Kenna's pain is portrayed so well within the writing. I adored the push and pull of the relationship between her and Ledger.

The uniqueness in this story can be found in the letters written throughout, I found that gave an added insight to Kenna the story. I loved that she wrote to Scotty it truly showed how much she was in love with him.

Another cracking read!! But then we all knew it was going to be right!?!?

I finished this book a few days ago and it’s still so difficult to put into words exactly how I feel right now. Colleen is my favourite author, hands down, the way she crafts characters is just incredible and how her stories leave you feeling is indescribable.

I work in a school and whenever my students get into disagreements or fall outs I always try to make the point that there isn’t always a right or wrong, or a good or bad person in a situation but that sometimes it’s simply a case of perspective and this book is the perfect example of that.

I really don’t want to spoil anything as I think that the beauty of reading a CoHo book is going in completely blind because her books are experiences but I will say that Kenna and Ledger’s story brought me to tears and also gave me so many happy moments. What an incredible story! I’ve always maintained that It Ends With Us is my favourite CoHo book and that other books can share the top spot but never take it but after reading Reminders of Him I’m not sure I can say that anymore, I can officially say that Reminders of Him is my favourite CoHo book so far!!!

And as a final note I always love that ‘ah ha’ moment where the title and cover of a CoHo book makes sense!

Colleen Hoover is a one click author for me. I never quite know what I'm going to get story wise, but I do know that it is always going to be a fantastic story and will probably destroy me. Right now I feel like my heart has been torn out of my chest, stomped on and the mangled mess shoved back in. #bookhangover The FMC has to overcome so much trauma and adversity to just get through each day, trying to be a good person for the child she has yet to meet. I love that she wrote letters about how she was feeling, past traumas, memories and current day to day stuff. This is my first five star read of 2022. Thank you Colleen Hoover for making me cry so hard but also damn you for making me cry so hard I struggled to see the words.

When Kenna leaves prison after 5 years she has one thing on her mind - to find her daughter. And so she returns to the place which gives her conflicting feelings, a place she once loved but left broken hearted. This isn't going to be easy and with a small town knowing her history, Kenna has never felt more alone.

Going to sound like a broken record here but as always with Colleen Hoover books, I recommend going into this blind. I read no reviews, did not look at the blurb on the back or see anything online and I always think that this adds to my enjoyment of Colleen Hoover's novels.

Reminders of Him was a book covering a topic I've never read about before and it was interesting to see both sides of the story (again sorry for the vagueness here). Reading from the side of the perpetrator gave me a whole other side of feelings which I possibly had not considered enough before.

Whilst I would argue that not a lot happens in this novel, (it is very much a character driven read) it is safe to say I was hooked, invested and emotional throughout. And yes by the end I was crying... AGAIN.

Colleen Hoover's writing captivates you, absorbs you, crushes you, means you cannot put the book down and then leaves you a mess at the end craving more. If you are a Colleen Hoover fan, you will love this book, no doubt about that.

I'm ready for the next one please!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another sensitive, moving and wholesome story about family, forgiveness, and second chances
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 March 2022

I’ve only read two of Colleen Hoover’s books so far, but they have both been five-star reads for me so I immediately pre-ordered this one as soon as I could.

Reminders Of Him is another sensitive, moving and wholesome story about family, forgiveness, and second chances. Hoover’s books are always so easy to drift into, and this is exactly the same with characters who are easy to engage with and a story that grips you emotionally from the get-go.

Any time that it was mentioned that Kenna couldn’t see her daughter or that she hadn’t even met her yet, despite giving birth to her, my heart absolutely ached. I can’t imagine how it would feel to not know what your child looks like, what their interests are, or how they act. And because you don’t know what Kenna did in her past at the start, you begin to question a mother’s right to have a relationship with their child and where you think those boundaries lie.

Alternating between narratives by Kenna and Ledger, these interchanging points of view really draws you in emotionally. Kenna doesn’t give too much away at first so her intentions are questionable, as Ledger’s narration shows the conflicts between why people are finding it difficult to forgive her and why she deserves a second chance.

Kenna’s letters to Scottie then begin to fill in the blanks, which really reflect her pain. And soon enough, all you want is the most over-top happy endings possible as you begin to feel Kenna’s desperation to just see her daughter, even if only once.

I found some of the romantic scenes a little cringey, but then I also found myself swooning over lines such as “He smells like limes and bad decisions.” I feel like I learnt something new about myself with that one… But that aside, I felt fully invested in this story and its characters.

Did Reminders Of Him leave me sobbing in an uncontrollable mess? No. But it was such a lovely read that tugged on my heartstrings, and that ending was just perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another gem from CoHo

Well, Colleen Hoover has done it again. She’s written another heartbreaking book that deals with loss, and in such a profound way.

Kenna’s letters to Scotty were both beautiful and heartbreaking as we hear her side of what happened on the night that Scotty died. She carries so much guilt, and all you want is for her to be able to meet her daughter and get some kind of solace.

It must have been very difficult for the Landrys as they’d lost their son and held Kenna responsible as she was driving and all they know is that she left him to die. Diem is the last piece of their son that they have so they’re terrified at the prospect of Kenna taking her away. They can’t see that Kenna also lost Scotty that day and has never forgiven herself for leaving him there.

There’s a severe lack of communication between the two parties. Understandably the Landrys don’t want contact with Kenna, but if they were to hear her side of events maybe they could understand why Kenna left him.

It was very difficult to choose sides. On the one hand the Landrys want what is best for their granddaughter and they believe that keeping her mother from her is for the best because of the person they think she is.

Kenna is heartbroken at the idea of never being able to meet her daughter. All she wants is the chance to play a role in her daughters life, even if it’s just a minor one.

This was such a tough subject matter but so beautifully written. It really emphasises how life can sometimes be cruel and not pan out how you expected it to.

Reminders of him will probably be my favourite read of 2022 this book had me crying absolute buckets of tears, and so far nothing has had the same emotional impact as this book had on me. It's heartbreaking and beautiful and just such a great read, Colleen Hoover totally knows how to make you love her characters flaws and all.

Reminders of him is an emotional romance story about a mother trying to connect with her daughter after spending five years in prison for a tragic mistake. It's full of pain, mistakes of the past, second chances and love and omg this book packs an emotional punch definitely one to read if you like a tug on your heart romance with heartbreak moments. What I loved about reminders of him too is you can see from everyone's side and understand why they act the way they act I could sympathise with all the characters and that just made it all the more heartbreaking.

This book literally broke me and then put me completely back together again. I almost never cry over books. Sure i get sad, i get overwhelmed, but it takes me a lot to cry. This book though at one point had me crying THREE chapters in a row. I really should have expected that though like come on, it is a Colleen Hoover book. This was such a heart breaking but beautiful story. From the very beginning i was addicted. I picked the book up and couldn’t put it down until i finished it 7 hours later. I swear i really did feel so many emotions whilst reading this book. I laughed, i cried, i screamed, i smiled. Sometimes some parts were either too overwhelming sad or too happy that i had to put the book down and take a ten second break before i could go on.

Ledger and Kenna have an incredible relationship. They both went through loss, pain, devastation and grief, and it was so beautiful to read both of their perspectives, to be able to do what they both thought and felt. I genuinely think kenna is one of my favourite characters, i felt so much pain and then happiness for her. She really did deserve that ending.
