We have loads of i-Spy books and they have become a staple of our walks as they are a great way of focussing a child's mind on challenges, rather than complaining about their feet. The company are now starting to produce books that use the basic i-Spy idea but add to it. This 'i-SPY Nature Challenge: Do it! Score it!' still has thinks to find, but you need to take part in something to get the points.
This could be looking at the skies to finding paw prints in the mud. Each double spread has a little explanation on what you are looking at and can do, then a series of tasks with points. The harder the task, the more points. The book is full colour and crammed with images.
These books are more difficult to undertake than the normal i-Spy books as some of the tasks will be hard to undertake unless you find the right location or have the correct set up. I still think that they work well over the summer holidays when you have a little more time on your hands as there are lots of fun ideas that you can choose and go out of your way to do.

When this arrived, my initial thought was that this could not be worth £8.00 being so small. This book is worth every penny. Packed full with ideas and challenges to keep the entire family entertained. I am loving the subtle balance between enjoying nature, whilst teaching little one how to respect the wildlife and their habitats.Challenges range from building a bird feeder, to being an animal detective and trying to locate different species of bugs etc. how to make perfume from petals, how to build a compost bin and even how to build a butterfly feeding station. The tasks have been thought through carefully and this book makes a great tool for being outdoors with the little ones and keeping them engaged.

This book is brilliant to get your kids outside in nature and give them a better understanding of it too. There are enough challenges that you could do one per weekend and keep everyone occupied for almost a full year!

Perfect for the summer holidays!

I absolutely love this range of I-Spy books at the moment! This one is perfect for older children, especially for over the summer holidays when they'll have plenty of time to complete the many different activities. It will probably even stop the dreaded moans of "there's nothing to do"/"I'm bored"! It's jam packed with loads of fun outdoor activities which adults will mostly find enjoyable to take part in too. It's a wonderful way to make many fond memories and help your children to learn some valuable life skills and gain knowledge about wildlife and the environment. Definitely recommend!
