Read it in less than three hours. Once again, I couldn't put it down.

Won't spoil it. But it's a strange story this one... and it's bloody brilliant.

Sorry! I have read a lot of Mark's other books but I just didn't like this one. It seemed slightly juvenile to me. Not convincing at all. Personal taste! I didn't care for it and found the end completely silly but I'm sure my opinion won't make any difference to anyone else.

I only discovered this author at the end of the last year, and now I've read ALL his books. This one, I finished this morning!! He has a superb way of writing that starts with the ordinary situation, one you can put yourself into, and then the extraordinary, thrilling, frightening and unbelievable but strangely believable happens - and the story takes off! I absolutely LOVE all his books and this one just confirms that he is one of the best psychological thriller writers around! If he continues like this, I will forever remain a loyal fan and will shout his name from the rooftops! (Actually - I already have!!!) Possibly the most disappointed I've ever been reading a book.

This book was from the same author who wrote Follow You Home and The Magpies? Seriously? My mind is blown.

Where was the tension? Why was it SO silly and over the top? Why did the characters make one cringe/eye-roll worthy decision after the next? I'm just...angry.

I can't recommend this at all unfortunately. Sigh.

Firstly, I am a massive Mark Edwards fan. I have read all of his books, including those written in collaboration with Louise Voss. I eagerly await his new releases and always have them on pre order. Sadly, this book was a bit of a let down. As others have said its hard to believe it was written by the same author as The Magpies and the "edge of your seat" Follow You Home. The story was silly and way too far fetched,with unlikeable characters. I hope his next book will be set in England with characters you can really relate to and is more of the type of brilliant twisty thriller he usually writes. I really hope he is not doing a "James Patterson" and starting to churn them out at a fast pace putting quantity over quality.
