How We Collect Delivery Information on Buildings
Amazon Logistics has various ways to make sure packages reach customers on time. One such way for us to ensure high quality and punctual deliveries is by gathering helpful information about buildings we’ve encountered delivery issues at in the past.
Specifically, if you or a delivery service partner has reported a delivery issue at a building you've instructed us to deliver to, whether it was a home, business, or a pickup point address, Amazon representatives may gather helpful information about the building that will enable delivery service partners to complete successful deliveries in the future.
For delivery issue encountered at a:
- commercial or multi-unit residential buildings: our representatives may gather information such as the precise geolocation of the building, parking availability near the building, delivery hours, reference photographs to find the building and helpful delivery hints (landmarks, location to building entrance, etc.).
- a single-unit residential building: our representatives may gather information such as the precise geolocation of the building, parking availability near the building, and helpful delivery hints (landmarks, location to building entrance, etc.).
We will only collect information that is publicly available. The information can then be used by the drivers of our delivery service partners when making future deliveries to that building. When collecting the information, our representatives will wear an info-badge to identify themselves and, in some cases, a branded uniform.
We will only gather generic information about the building to facilitate future deliveries - not about you, your family, your pets, your neighbors, or any other persons living in the house. If someone asks you about such information, it is not us - we recommend not to volunteer such information! The general information about buildings will also not be associated with your customer account - the driver will see the building information only for the delivery to this building.
The building information is not linked to your customer account. If you want us to update information about a building, you need to provide the address of the building to Customer Service.
If you have concerns or questions about data relating to you (not relating to a building), please read our Privacy Notice.
