I think it is fair to say that Duracell has a reputation for making excellent quality batteries.

These are an example of that reputation.
I have tried other brands (including one that will be familiar to anyone shopping here) and I am afraid they have all failed to maintain the same levels of performance over an extended period of time.

For example, I have an electronic Sure Flap cat flap that reads the identichips the cats have (and is truly outstanding by the way). It uses 4x AA batteries and I measured how long the batteries lasted over a 3 year period (well I was curious, that is my excuse!).
The Duracell batteries lasted more than 14 months. Other brands, both the Duracell Industrial and the other brand mentioned previously could not managed more than 11 months.

They are also used in a variety of other devices and out perform the alternatives by some margin (X Box controllers being a good example).

Yes, you can now buy lithium batteries in AA and AAA size, which will comfortably outperform even these, but they are still very expensive in comparison.

Overall I think the balance between price and quality makes these the best choice out there.
Yes, you can buy a lot cheaper, but you will also be buying a lot more of them!

Thanks for reading and I hope you found the review useful.
