I purchased the platinum + 3 weeks ago. I used them straight away and was very surprised to find that, as I pulled them down my hair, hair was getting caught in the two slits under the plates and snapping off. I contacted GHD who replied straight away and I sent them back and they sent a replacement set. Great! Used my new set straight away and exactly the same thing happened again. There is a design fault although GHD say there isn’t and if you look closely at my picture you will see it. So I contacted them again and this time they were not so quick to respond and finally replied after a week. This time they are saying that I am grasping the hair too tightly to straighten or putting too much hair through the plates. You have to grasp with enough pressure to pull the straightener through the hair and even with a small amount of hair there is always risk of hair getting into one of these pesky slits. So now GHD will not give me refund but want to exchange again for the same pair!! I do not want the same pair and have asked for an exchange to same value but different design. They have not replied AGAIN and it’s been over six hours since I sent the email.
If you are thinking of buying these stylers think really hard before you part with £140. Believe me these stylers have a design fault. Just look at my picture. I would hate for anyone to experience this amount of stress and not get it sorted very quickly
