I have a ggmm battery base on mine, and it is fantastic. Battery life is really good, I've had it outside playing all day on many occasions and the battery hasn't caused any issues.
Obviously yes, you can unplug it, move it to a different room and plug it in again, but that doesn't make it portable and is pretty usele… see more

Maybe consider relinquishing the shackles of modern technology and relocating your existence to an off-grid dacha near a beautiful forest, preferably in reasonably close proximity to a gently babbling brook.
I found such action to be a most effective solution to cable clutter anxiety! 😃

I guess the new design is to incorporate better speakers to improve the sound quality (not that the quality on my 2nd generation dot is too bad). Looking at it, it appears to have 2 tweeters and a woofer...

It is not really designed to fix to a wall because the speakers point out from the front, with the hard plastic bit facing a wall. I guess you could put it on a tiny shelf.

There are some really nice stands or wall mounts for the 4th generation dot on amazon. Or why not get some smart lights or leds and pair them with alexa and make your dot even smarter than it already is 😊
