About the author

Louie Stowell started her career writing carefully-researched books about space, Ancient Egypt, politics and science but eventually lapsed into just making stuff up. She likes writing about dragons, wizards, vampires, fairies, monsters and parallel worlds.
She lives in London with her wife Karen, her dog Buffy and a creepy puppet that is probably cursed.

The book is hard cover on the outside and spiral bound inside. It is a lovely quality and offers so much more than just heres a book now write a story. It is fun and informative and offers a great deal of value. I would highly recommend it and will be purchasing a few more as gifts.
It didn't quite hit the spot with my son because he is full of ideas, and wants to write stories about what interests him (just cars and superheroes really!) He has written a couple of nice stories in the book but it's largely gone unused in favour of the blank paper.
That said, the book is great and I'd recommend for any kids age 6-10 who want to write but struggle to think of ideas or to get then down on paper.
