Kerry Fisher is an internationally bestselling author. Her novels include The Woman I Was Before, The Silent Wife and The Secret Child. She was born in Peterborough, studied French and Italian at the University of Bath and spent several years living in Spain, Italy and Corsica. After returning to England to work as a journalist, she eventually abandoned real life stories for the secrets of fictional families. She now lives in Surrey with her husband, two teenage children and a naughty Lab/Schnauzer called Poppy.

Emma Spurgin Hussey is an English actress, writer and director. She played Mrs Zacky Martin in the historical drama Poldark (2015–2016) and has appeared in Doc Martin (2015), The Barge People (2018) and All in the Valley (2014). Kerry has this marvellous ability to write characters you want to move in with, be your best friend or simply throttle!! And this book has all three. You “know” the people Kerry writes about. They are your friends and family too. And love and longing often and easily makes fools of us all. We’ve all chased the dream of happy ever after that, somehow, remains insight and yet tantalisingly out of reach. This book explores that yearning in a depth and detail that has you fuming on one page and cheering on the next! It’s a superb exposé of just how foolish love can make us and the need for the sure and steady strength of womanhood to unite to put things right. In these truly troubled and troublesome times Kerry’s books are a cleansing waft of fresh air that anchors your belief in the best of human nature and that things will and do turn out alright in the end - but it may not be the end that we’d hoped for and worked tirelessly to achieve. This is a great book that will take you on a journey you’ll recognise, know and love. Enjoy it!! I surely did.

I have read many of Kerry Fishers books and have to say this is one of my favourites. I read it over 48 hours and totally neglected everything else!! It was well written,very believable and the characters really worked for me. I found myself comparing them with people I know and looking at similarities in their lives! There was as usual just the right amount of humour in there too.

This story is written from the perspective of two women, Rebecca and Cath, whose lives become intertwined after Rebecca offers a neighbourly hand to Cath’s mother and ends up working as Cath’s cleaner. Given the title of the book, I wondered if Kerry Fisher had decided to turn her hand to psychological thrillers, and was a wee bit apprehensive about who Rebecca might turn out to be.

Both women have marital disaster on their CV. Rebecca is living through her nightmare; Cath, on the other hand, looks like she's finally getting to enjoy a joyful, fulfilling relationship, having struggled through single parenthood and building a successful business. But is Robin, the object of her passion, too good to be true? Her family and friends are certainly not as taken by him as she is, which is a source of frustration and bewilderment, and I really felt for her.

As we read, our suspicions build up, questioning not just Robin’s personality and motives, but those of practically every character, so we’re often not quite sure whose side we should be on.

It’s difficult to write more without spoilers. Suffice to say there were a few “oh, my goodness” moments, not least of which was the final chapter. The story is over but not over – perfect.

I thoroughly enjoyed Kerry Fisher's latest book. From the moment I started reading it, I was captivated by the main characters, Cath and Rebecca and by the situation they find themselves in. The story is gripping and it had me wanting to keep reading, so much so that I finished it within 48 hours! There's a sense of wanting justice to be done, a feeling that you must be right about what is happening whilst at the same time, questioning whether there could in fact be another explanation, perhaps certain characters are genuine or can't be all that they seem. I love the humour in Kerry's book too, this certainly had her usual witty dialogue whilst at the same time being a riveting story of family lies and secrets. Read this, you won't be disappointed!

I love Kerry's books because she writes such brilliant characters; they feel like real people who are both "good" and "bad" - doing things you might think a bit questionable from time to time as well as being the person you're rooting for.
This is one of those books it's easy to read and hard to put down, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The only bad thing I can say about this book is that I read it within a couple of days and now I have to wait ages for another release!

Oh, I do love a Kerry Fisher book! The Woman in my Home (like all her novels) is rich with authentic, relatable characters. I adored Rebecca (the down-on-her-luck housekeeper) and marvelled at the way Fisher led me to sympathise with Cath one minute, then roll my eyes at her the next.
I was fully engaged with this twisting, compelling plot about friendship, motherhood and what we can be blind to in our quest to love and be loved.
Kerry Fisher is a master of writing characters who are so real you feel like they are your friends. Because of this, I found myself so invested in their lives that I didn’t want the book to end. The Woman in my Home is another brilliant book by this author and I highly recommend you read it!

Well, I blame Kerry Fisher for my recent insomnia! 'The Woman in my Home' is a powerful, plausible story about believable people and the mistakes they make. I was invested in the plot from the outset - it's gripping and fast moving, yet always credible because the characters are so relatable (apart from Robin!) Kerry has this ability to write with great warmth and compassion and 'The Woman in my Home' is no exception. A great read.
