Basically, he'll eat until he's sick if given the chance, so it was really surprising to see him refusing to eat these Whiskas. He's normally hesitant around new food but he'll take to it once he tries it and will happily devour future servings in a heartbeat. But he would just protest and not eat it until he was really hungry. And even then he'd leave some in the bowl, which he never usually does.
Worst part was the litter tray afterwards. The Whiskas gave him diarrhoea and if you thought cat poop was normally repulsive smelling, the aftermath of the Whiskas was full scale chemical warfare. My enclosed litter tray is usually good at containing the smells for a little while but this was immediate. Soon as the cat was finished his business, the smell immediately permeated throughout the house. 2 rooms away and the distinct aroma of cat poop penetrated my nostrils even though I could still hear him scratching at the litter to cover his scented payload. I held my breath and fought the urge to gag when I opened the litter tray and my eyes watered as I disposed of the Whiskas fallout. But even that wasn't enough as the smell lingered for hours, effectively turning the house into a giant dutch oven.
After 3 days of this nasal onslaught and the 4 legged terror adding equally putrid farts to his arsenal of war crimes, we accepted that it was due to the Whiskas and he wasn't going to get used to it. We immediately got him some new food and this improved the situation within the next couple days. Thankfully Amazon refunded me for the unused bags and I will not be subjecting myself to this type of torture again.
All four of my cats seem to enjoy this food and sit waiting each morning and evening for it, though we let them graze all day they enjoy it most fresh.
This 7kg bag isn’t resealable (but much cheaper than the bag that is) so I have a plastic food container that I keep it in so it stays fresh.
Overall I’m really happy with this cat food and don’t doubt I’ll be changing brands any time soon. My cats and I definitely recommend it.

Let me tell you, this is the most delicious cat food I've ever purchased.
Gizmo, Munchkin, Tammy, Snowball, Mittens and Tinkles all love this product. Before you ask that is a fair number of cats in truth we never intended to have cats, 5+ years ago we found Tinkles alone, cold, starved and near the edge of becoming a feral. We scooped in and looked after him and searched for his owner, turned out he was dumped by the family over the road and they just didn't want him anymore because he had a bad eye. All his eye really needed was looking after and we took care of him. Mittens was dumped because she was pregnant and behold four baby kittens came along.
Now all grown up they need food and treats, I use this bag mainly for padding treats since I hate giving them treats straight from the bag and prefer them to have a mix of treats and biscuits rolled into one so they get a mixed diet. Also the treats last longer and really with six cats it needs to.
That aside, my main concern is the poor nutrition in this food. The ingredients list 'Cereals' as the main ingredient. Cats should have a diet made up of protein, so it's concerning that there is such a high level of carbs in their food. It's also bulked with 'Crude Oil', 'Crude Fibres' and 'Crude Ash'. This in total makes up 20% of the total nutrition that is worrying.
Here is the nutritional break down: Composition: Cereals. Meat and Animal Derivatives. Vegetable Protein Extracts. Oils and Fats (0.25% Fish Oil, 0.1% Sunflower Oil). Derivatives of Vegetable Origin. Minerals (including 0.2% Sodium Tripolyphosphate). Fish and Fish Derivatives (4% Tuna in the Light Brown Kibbles). Vegetables (4% Carrots in the Orange Kibbles, 4% Peas in the Green Kibbles). Antioxidants, Colorants from Natural Origin. Technological Additives: Taurine 1300mg/kg; Sensory Additives: None Stated; Nutritional Additives: Vitamin A: 12480IU. Vitamin D3: 1755IU. Vitamin E: 198mg. Calcium iodate anhydrous: 19.5mg. Cupric sulphate pentahydrate: 19.5mg. Manganous sulphate monohydrate: 38.1mg. Sodium selenite: 0.52mg. Zinc sulphate monohydrate: 155mg.
I understand that it is cheap food, but I don't think it's any good for the cat's health, and I've already noticed their coats looking shinier since moving onto another brand.
I would still feed my cats this food from time to time, but I don't think I will be using this as my primary food any longer.
