Two weeks, four friends and one big bucket list of secrets to unravel…
Val Murray and her best friend, Josie had been planning a ‘Thelma and Louise’ bucket list style holiday.
Now Josie is gone, and Val needs to make the trip before it’s too late.
But Val doesn’t want to do it alone, so she enlists the help of her nieces, Carly and Carole, and their best pal, Jess, who jump at the chance to join Val on a trip of a lifetime.
What Val doesn’t realise is that Carly, Carole and Jess are all at turning points in their own lives, nursing crushing secrets, lies and betrayals.
Somewhere between Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York they all hit a crossroads and have to decide if they want to return to the lives they left behind or let Josie’s last wishes take them on a brand new adventure.

From the Publisher

Dear Reader,
Thank you so much for landing on my book page!
I hope you will love what you find here. At the heart of all my novels is friendship, the kind of relationships between women (and sometimes men) that bonds them together in the good times and in the bad. My characters sometimes experience the worst of life – betrayal, broken relationships, illness, bereavement, heartbreak – but my stories are always about how they overcome those challenges with great friends, the kind who lift you up, tell you brutal truths and make you laugh, even in the moments when there isn’t much to smile about. They capture the very best things about being part of a friendship group or family that isn’t perfect but manages to survive heartaches and come out wiser, stronger and more sure than ever that the people who love them are on their side.
And always, they’re full of real laughter, real tears and real life.
Love,
Shari x

About the author

In January 2022, Shari Low celebrated 21 years since the publication of her first novel, What If?. Shari went on to be a best-selling novelist, publishing over 30 books, including My One Month Marriage, One Day In Summer, One Summer Sunrise, The Story Of Our Secrets and her non-fiction collection of parenthood memories, Because Mummy Said So.
In late 2020, her first novel, What If?, was updated and re-published. In January 2021, the sequel, What Now? was released, followed in April 22 by the third book in the series, What Next?. All three novels became international best sellers.
In real life, once upon a time she met a guy, got engaged after a week, and twenty-something years later she lives near Glasgow with her husband and a labradoodle. Her two teenagers have now left home, so she spends an inordinate amount of time on video calls checking if they're eating well and keeping up to date with their laundry.

We meet Carly again, now married to Sam for 18 months. They have been living in London for the last 2 years as Sam moved his film job there whilst the boys finished school. Now it's time for Carly to move their life to LA and she isn't sure she wants to do it. The boys have decided to stay at home while they continue with further education and she doesn't want to be away from them again!
In comes Aunt Val again, she turns up one day and decides she is going to do the things on the bucket list her and her dear friend Josie made before she passed away. Along for the ride, go Carol (Carly's sister in law) and Jess, now married to Arnie, (Sam's best friend)
A fun filled action-packed adventure for them all! Val starts to see some cracks appearing in the relationships with the girls and their partners and tries to find out what's going on as nobody is saying anything! Jess is all set to go back to the UK after she overhears a devastating secret from Arnie on the phone, when she bumps into Carly at the airport and is convinced to go back to LA with them. A few surprises on the way, very funny and adventurous, sometimes you feel as though you are with them!
And another trip to jail.... just as the last book finished! A great read!
I’ve loved how all the characters have evolved and how Shari has kept their originality’s going from the very first book.
From Carol and her mixed up sayings to Aunt Val being the best Scottish Aunty with her typical Scottish humour.
I love how the kids are as close as they are and how they seem to be following suit.
I didn’t want this book to end and I really don’t want this to be the last we hear of these ladies.
Perhaps Shari could feed us some info on the ladies if she happened to write from the kids perspectives and them entertaining their own adult life’s
Laughing out loud, then mopping my tears as usual when reading about these wonderful characters, like catching up with family. Please keep all of us readers informed of all the future happenings of these friends
